Greentea Peng Shares Soulful New Song “Look To Him”

Though it’s been over a year since the release of MAN MADE, Greentea Peng has been unloading new singles throughout the year. Following the release of songs like “Your Mind” and “Stuck In The Middle,” she returned this week with her soulful new single, “Look To Him.” In her latest release, Greentea Peng taps into a spiritual side and explores the sources of inspiration in her life.

“‘Look To Him’ explores the idea of originality and the notion of tapping into source energy for creativity and inspiration rather than just searching for it amongst your peers and surroundings. At the same time, it challenges the idea that anything is truly original as nothing is truly our own rather seeped into us from a Higher Power and thus channeled from God him/herself,” Greentea Peng said in a statement.

Quotable Lyrics
Imitation ain’t flattery
But inspiration, that’s a different ting
And while I own nothing, not even soul I bring
Don’t smile and then try bite me

Macklemore Shares “Maniac” Single With Windser Amid Imagine Dragons Arena Tour

Macklemore has been keeping busy these days as the opening act on Imagine Dragons’ North American stadium and arena tour, which kicked off earlier this month on August 5th.

Ahead of tomorrow’s show at Fenway Park in Boston, the 39-year-old has dropped off a new single in collaboration with Windser called “Maniac” along with a Jake Magraw-directed music video that includes an appearance from Nardwuar.

I could give a damn, you’re a maniac
And you’re talkin’ like a killer, got me on my back
You know I love you, honey, but you got me runnin’, yeah

Tank Taps Chris Brown For Seductive Single “See Through Love”

Tank is back with another sultry single that proves R&B is far from dead. This time around, the crooner tapped Chris Brown to join him on his seductive, new Dylan Graham produced record “See Through Love.” TheR&B Money Podcast host has been making his rounds all summer long to promote the release of his 10th and final album of the same name, which was released on Friday (August 19). During a recent interview with The Morning Hustle, Tank said of his new project, “R&B Money is a labor of love to my fans and to the genre of R&B. This is who I am! I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for artists like Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, Keith Sweat, Al Green, and my fans who inspire me every day to make music. I wanted this album to pay homage to my influences and my evolution as an artist, and I think that’s what this final album represents.”

Along with a guest appearance from Chris Brown, the 17-track album will also feature Tank’s R&B Money Podcast co-host J. Valentine, as well as Alex Isley, Vedo and Rotimi. J.I.D Taps His Father, J. Cole, & Ibrahim Hamad For New Single, “2007”

We’re a week away from receiving J.I.D’s latest effort and his rollout has been a firestorm. We recently received “Dance Now,” his collaboration with Kenny Mason, and today (August 19), the Dreamville spitter is back with another art-of-storytelling release, “2007.” The Forever Story is shaping up to be a must-hear record as J.I.D’s releases have been met with warm receptions. This time, he walks listeners through his story with the help of his father, as well as J. Cole and Dreamville’s president, Ibrahim Hamad.

Of his forthcoming album, J.I.D wrote:

“As we draw near to The Forever Story, I wanna give insight on the process of trying to put together a solid body of work. Initially I wanted to create an album that serves as an origin story and speaks to who I am and what I came from. This song has been in the works for 2 years and was supposed to be the outro on the album. Things didn’t work out but this story is too pertinent to the picture we want to paint. This has been the heaviest project for me to make and I take pride in my vulnerability that came in the midst of creation.”

Stream “2007” and let us know what you think. The Forever Story arrives on August 26.

Offset Drops “54321” Produced By Baby Keem, Mike Dean & More

They’re family members who were able to amass tremendous success with one another, but there have been murmurs about the Migos within the last few months. Because Takeoff, Quavo, and Offset have often worked outside of their trio, it isn’t surprising to see them pursuing solo efforts. However, when Quavo and Takeoff appeared on a single together without Offset during a time when there were rumors about a breakup, their fans intensified the gossip.

As we await more information on what has been happening with the chart-topping group, Offset emerged this New Music Friday (August 19) with a new single. His track “54321” hosts a production credit from none other than Baby Keem, who is currently traveling the world on Kendrick Lamar’s The Big Steppers Tour, as well as Jahaan Sweet, Ruchaun Maurice Akers Jr, and Mike Dean.

It is unclear where this track will land, but it did arrive with a visual that shows Offset taking over a carnival. Stream “54321” and let us know what you think.
