Yebba Releases Live Version Of “Dawn” Hit “Boomerang”

“Yebba’s Heartbreak” is the most beautiful song on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy.

Between shots at nameless women and cautionary tales about living and loving in 2021, “Yebba’s Heartbreak” stood out as a legitimate love song — a ballad, if you will. The only CLB track sans-Drake, singer/songwriter Yebba Smith handled all of the vocals and delivered one of the most moving performances of the year.

One week later, Yebba came back with her own album, Dawn, and hit fans directly in their collective heart.

“Boomerang,” Dawn‘s third track, tells a story of an ex lover and includes the guarantee that everything they did to hurt Yebba, will come back around to get them. The song, which already received an official music video, was well-received and with it’s sustained success, the “Yebba’s Heartbreak” singer decided to give it a live treatment. Backed by Charles Myers on the guitar, Burniss Travis playing bass, Malachi Mabson on the keys, & Justin Tyson playing drums, Yebba belts out the threatening-but-groovy record in a lamplit studio and “Boomerang” is brought to life.

Quotable Lyrics
If I shoot him in the stomach
Then he’s hurting on my dime
And if I shoot him in the head
Then he’s dead and he’s livin’ on my mind

Big Sean Skates Over “CLB” & “Donda” Instrumentals In His L.A. Leakers Freestyle

One of the most revered traditions in Hip-Hop is the art of freestyling, and throughout the year, the L.A. Leakers have released some pretty amazing freestyles from the likes of J. Cole, Vic Mensa, Ski Mask The Slump God, Common, Migos, Ray Vaughn, and more. And although he isn’t currently promoting a new project or single, Big Sean is now the latest artist to link up with Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk and show off his freestyling skills.

During his session with Power 106, the Detroit 2 artist sits next to Hit-Boy and bodies four consecutive freestyles over Memphis Bleek and Jay-Z’s “Dear Summer,” Drake’s CLB standout track “Love All,” Kanye West’s “Hurricane,” and Nardo Wick’s “Who Want Smoke.” Throughout Big Sean’s four freestyles, he touches on topics such as the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, the popular Netflix series Squid Game, NBA legends like Kobe Bryant and Dennis Rodman, and his unpaid publishing royalties.

Also worth noting, Complex reports that Sean’s take on “Hurricane” is actually his unreleased verse from Donda. Following the release of his freestyle, the Finally Famous artist also revealed that he was close to Ye’s late mother, Donda West, as well, saying, “Donda signed my advance check on God, that’s how long we been at this…”

Check out Big Sean’s long-delayed L.A. Leakers freestyle below and let us know in the comments if you think he killed it.

“Rhythm + Flow” Star Beanz Drops “Wake Me Up When I’m Dreaming”

Beanz is busy prepping for the release of her album, Tables Turn on November 5th, but the Pennsylvania rapper still found time to release a new single, titled “Wake Me Up When I’m Dreaming” today.

The nearly four minute long track sees the former Rhythm + Flow contestant drop bars about feeling golden every day and and overcoming the dark days that she’s been through.

“Pressure is attention,” Beanz tells listeners on the outro. “That others feel when you walk in the room, or when your name is brought up. When another woman see you come in the room, and they say, ‘I don’t like that bitch.’ And her friend ask, ‘but why?’ That‘s pressure.”

“The inspo behind it was following my dreams despite what life throws in my direction. The video gives the impression that I’m actually in a dream while I’m embracing the moment and moving forward to what’s next. The end of the video adds a little humor and a snippet of what’s coming next on my project,” the PA native told Brooklyn Vegan.

Check out the video for “Wake Me Up When I’m Dreaming” by Beanz above.

Quotable Lyrics:

I keep it cool, take it easy

I tell the truth, they believe me

Was in the dark, couldn’t see me

I made it start, now I’m beamin’

P Yungin Drops “Red Steps” Ahead Of Never Broke Again Compilation Album

Early last month, NBA YoungBoy entered into a global partnership with Motown Records, which extended down to every artist on his Never Broke Again Label, including P Yungin.

Six weeks later, Motown took to their official Instagram page to announce that Never Broke Again: The Compilation Volume One, is set to drop November 19. Along with the announcement, the NBA crew looked to P Yungin to get things started with his new record, “Red Steps.”

“Red Steps”, which comes with visuals of the “I’m On” rapper sparking up in front of a Rolls Royce in the middle of a cemetery, is a ballad about the sacrifices Yungin had to make to get to where he is, and about the sacrifices his day-ones couldn’t make for him. Spitting over a piano-driven trap instrumental, Yungin raps about trust issues, sipping lean to ease the anxiety and his willingness to go to war if anyone comes at him sideways.

Quotable Lyrics
Deep up in my feelings, I been focused on my career, for real
How you gon’ talk that sh*t and your man just got killed?
He just caugh a sub, been through it all, and he still strong
He saw the dream, he had a vision, went up on his own

Kur Makes Dream Chasers Debut With “Let’s Talk”

Meek Mill is fresh off of the release of his latest album, Expensive Pain, though in the years since dropping Championships, he’s been putting more work towards establishing the Dream Chasers empire. After partnering with Roc Nation to launch the label, he’s now bringing more artists to the forefront including Kur. The Philly rapper inked a deal with Dream Chasers/Roc Nation/Republic in April and today, he’s made his official debut on the label with “Let’s Talk.” The rapper’s ferocious flow takes center stage as his competitive lyricism takes the lead.

Kur’s latest single marks his first official single of the year, though he’s delivered a slew of freestyles since inking his deal with Meek Mill.

Check out the latest from Kur below and keep your eyes peeled for new music from him.

Quotable Lyrics

N***as, they spray at the wheel, they hittin’ whoever if you in the ride

Quando Rondo Brings “Who Can I Trust” To SoundCloud

Quando Rondo doesn’t know who to trust, and probably for good reason.

Ever since the Never Broke Again rapper was linked with the Atlanta killing of Chicago rapper King Von, Rondo has faced threats and multiple scary situations including a couple of close calls. Rondo maintains that he wasn’t involved with Von’s murder and also that he hasn’t dissed him on any records since, but the Savannah, GA rapper has voiced his support for Lul Tim, Von’s alleged killer.

The 22-year-old dropped “Who Can I Trust” with a video on YouTube about a month ago but recently brought the single over to SoundCloud.

Rapping over a heavy, trap instrumental with some elegant piano keys in the background, Rondo spits aggressively about the current state of his life and his inability to trust anybody but those closest to him. From women to Wock, the “End Of Story” rapper has trust issues with everything but definitely will not let that stop him from getting to the money.

Quotable Lyrics
Them hollow tips, they steady chasin’ me
This murder sh*t come ’round occasionally
I know this sh*t might sound crazy but I feel safer when I’m in the streets
Switch be on that Glock, we swang they block, that’s not the place to be
I swear that all these n****s flawed, so one hundred, ain’t no fake in me

Surprising his fans with a major announcement on Wednesday, rapper Comethazine has officially revealed that he’s dropping a new full-length album in a couple of days. As he continues to terrorize the rap game, Comethazine has become an underground hero, racking up hundreds of millions of streams on songs like “Walk” and “Bands.” Known for his strong ear for menacing beats, the deranged look in his eyes, and his hard-hitting rhymes about robbing, killing, and more, Co returns with his new single “Six Flags,” dropping the music video ahead of Comethazine The Album.

The upcoming seventeen-song album will be featureless, much like the majority of Co’s discography. For “Six Flags,” the rapper pulls off a successful bank heist in the music video, which was directed by JMP.
