Real Boston Richey & Future Tag Team “Bullseye 2” From “Public Housing” Album

Aside from huge new arrivals from names like DJ Khaled and J.I.D – who delivered GOD DID and The Forever Story respectively – this New Music Friday we’ve also received a project from Real Boston Richey, called Public Housing

For the 17-track effort, Richey connected with a few rap icons, including Kodak Black and Lil Crix on “Navy Seals,” Moneybagg Yo on “Certified Dripper 2,” and Lil Durk on “Keep Dissing 2” – and that’s not all.

The rising artist also nabbed two appearances from NEVER LIKED YOU artist Future, firstly on “I Want You,” and later on “Bullseye 2,” which we’re spotlighting for you today.

“Servin’ crystal falls, just like the haves and the have not / All that f*ckin’ wood and oxy get ya ass slimed out,” RBR raps on the chorus. “Pull up in a Benz, she say that she wanna know me now / F*ck it, spin a bend / Pop his ass and call it bullseye.”

Berner Calls On Elon Musk To Plant Weed On Mars On New Single

Berner is one of the most prolific rappers in the game but he’s also one of the most important figures in the cannabis industry. Over the years, he’s grown Cookies into an internationally recognized brand that is found on shelves across legal markets in the world. Though you could imagine owning a cannabis brand like Cookies would take up a significant amount of his time, he’s still working relentlessly in the studio. However, both of his jobs overlap quite frequently.

On his new single, “Elon,” Berner delivers a smoke-friendly anthem with spacey production that details his plans to expand the Cookies brand. He asks for the plug to Elon so he could send some seeds to mars with hopes that he can expand the Cookies brand.

IDK Heats Up New Music Friday With 2-Track Bundle, “W13 (Free Slime/Drive)”

Earlier this summer, fans of 30-year-old IDK were more than pleased with his collaborative Simple album with Kaytranada. Before the season ends, the rapper and producer has returned with more music in the form of a two-pack called W13

On the first title, “Drive,” the recording artist professes his feelings for the one he adores over a jazzy beat. “For your love, I’ll take my time / For your kiss, I’ll risk what’s mine,” IDK sings.

“Free Slime” focuses more on themes of freedom manifesting in the real world – particularly in the tough times of our current world. “Gotta live it up cuz I might die today / Everyday vacation I’m on holiday,” the boundary-pushing artist reflects.

While he’s been showing out with the steady new releases this summer, IDK has made it clear in the past that he doesn’t compare himself to his contemporaries. “I’m in competition with myself and only me. And I’m whooping my ass every time,” he shared in a press release.

Stream the W13 two-pack on Spotify, Apple Music, or Soundcloud below, and tap back in with HNHH later for more music updates.

J.I.D Recruits Yasiin Bey For “Stars”

Premiere Dreamville artist and Atlanta native J.I.D. is back today with The Forever Story, his third studio album and his first solo project since 2018. The 15-track album is loaded with incredible features from rising artists like Kenny Mason and Baby Tate, Dreamville acts like Ari Lennox and EarthGang, and music industry veterans like Lil Wayne and Johntá Austin.

One song in particular that boasts a great guest appearance from one of Hip-Hop’s most respected legends is “Stars,” a two-part gem near the end of The Forever Story that features none other than Yasiin Bey.

The first half of the track finds J.I.D. reminiscing on his come-up as an aspiring rapper when his bleak financial situation led to him leaning on a girl for housing and moral support. After the song’s narrator prefaces that listeners will be treated to “a word from our ancestors,” the beat switches to a more grimy instrumental, and that’s when Yasiin Bey takes over for a standalone verse.

Check out the visualizer for “Stars” below and let us know in the comments what you think about the Yasiin Bey-assisted track. Also, make sure you give J.I.D’s The Forever Story a spin here.

Quotable Lyrics

Are you really in it for the arts or the image?
Do you really live it in your heart and spirit?
It’s part of all you are, and all you isn’t
Trust your vision
