Young Thug’s 2015 Mixtape “Slim Season 2” Arrives On Streaming Platforms

Young Thug’s Slime Season 2 has officially landed on digital streaming platforms. The 22-track collection opens with the electrifying “Big Racks,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, and transitions into the viral anthem “Thief in the Night,” a collaboration with the late Trouble. Other standout tracks include “Hey, I,” “Pull Up on a Kid” with Yak Gotti, “Raw (Might Just),” and the emotionally charged “Never Made Love,” marking one of the final collaborations between Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan.

Slime Season 2 boasts contributions from Birdman and Shad da God. The production features Metro Boomin, Southside, Supah Mario, and TM88. In 2015, Spin‘s Paul Thompson described the second installment: “Continues to give context and direction as to the rapper’s wealth of unorganized material. This time, it’s constructed with more precision, playing out as one long crescendo.”

Young Thug Drops Anticipated “Slime Season 2” On DSPs

The mixtape follows news Thug is creating new music. In November, Dora Williams, Young Thug’s sister, informed fans: “My brother is working hard on new music. I promise you won’t be disappointed.” Accepting a plea deal after two years of incarceration, Young Thug faced personal losses. In Fulton County, he sustained the death of four loved ones, including the passing of his sister in 2023. Thug accepted a deal that included 15 years probation and banishment from Metro Atlanta. The rap star made a heartfelt apology to the judge and families involved in the RICO trial after the ruling.

The anticipated reissue includes vinyl pre-orders for all three installments in the series. The exclusive bundle features a custom box, posters, and cards, creating a nostalgic experience for die-hard supporters. Young Thug will feature on Lil Baby’s upcoming album, WHAM (Who Hard As Me), set to drop on Jan. 3, 2025. Thug has been in the studio with T.I., Future, Travis Scott, and Metro Boomin. This week, Thug addressed a leaked jail conversation that included Boxing star Devin Haney’s wife Leena Sayed. Other leaks included Thug talking about Diddy’s assault on Cassie with Mariah The Scientist.

Drake, Young Thug, And Gunna Discuss Their Relationship Qualms On The Slimy ‘Solid’

Despite being two of today’s most popular artists in the hip-hop world, collaborations between Young Thug and Drake have come far and few over the years. Prior to today, their list of songs together stood at just three official songs, which the most recent being “D4L” from Drake’s 2020 project, Dark Lane Demo Tapes. Thankfully for fans of both artists, Drake and Young Thug have provided a new track to that list with help from Gunna thanks to “Solid.”

The track is a chilled-out, melodic effort that kicks off with Drake discussing his vacation preferences and his questionable interactions with a woman in his life. Gunna then arrives takes the torch to express his own romantic qualms, which prove to fall in line with Drake’s, before a seamless transition occurs and Young Thug steps forward to take the mic and close out the song.

Slime Language 2 arrives after months of anticipation and patience from fans. The 23-track effort is a star-studded affair with contributions from Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Keed, Rowdy Rebel, Nav, Future, Kid Cudi, Meek Mill, and many more. Young Thug originally initially said the project would arrive in August 2020, but he quickly changed his mind and took back the initial release date.
