Megan Thee Stallion Considered For Part In Safdie Brothers Movie

Reports indicate that Megan Thee Stallion may have received an offer to star alongside Ben Affleck in an upcoming film. The Safdie brothers, renowned for their work on the acclaimed film Uncut Gems, will direct the movie. The filmmakers are considering Megan for the role of Affleck’s girlfriend in the film, which is set in 1990s New York and centers around the sports memorabilia industry. Affleck portrays a former baseball player who experiences a significant comeback. Additionally, Adam Sandler and Steve Harvey are reported to have roles in the film.

The Safdie brothers earned recognition for their notable film Uncut Gems, which they released in 2019. The film had an incredible ensemble cast that included Adam Sandler, Julia Fox, The Weeknd, LaKeith Stanfield, and Kevin Garnett. The upcoming film, potentially featuring Megan Thee Stallion, will commence filming during the summer. While the release date remains undisclosed, it will exclusively premiere on Netflix.

As Megan moves on to a new chapter of her life, she has contemplated the traumatic experience she endured with Toronto rapper Tory Lanez. Authorities found Lanez guilty of shooting Megan after a party in the summer of 2020. They charged him with three felony counts, and he currently faces a potential sentence of 9 years in jail. Recently, his request for a new trial was denied. When the verdict came on December 23, 2022, it not only vindicated Megan but also represented a triumph for every woman who has faced shame, dismissal, and blame in the aftermath of a violent crime committed against them.

Megan acknowledged that she is in a better place now but still experiences anxiety due to the whole ordeal. People dragged Megan through the mud, but she is ecstatic to have gained a new perspective and to have emerged from the experience with greater strength. “It never crossed my mind that people wouldn’t believe me,” Megan said of the incident. “For years, my attacker tried to leverage social media to take away my power. Imagine how it feels to be called a liar every day?” Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news on Megan’s possible new role!

Adam Sandler & The Safdie Brothers Tap Megan Thee Stallion For Upcoming Movie: Report

As the fourth anniversary of the Safdie Brothers’ Uncut Gems approaches, film fanatics are raving over an exciting tidbit of gossip from within the industry. After tapping The Weeknd to play himself in their Adam Sandler-led thriller, the creatives may be working with yet another recording artist in their upcoming project – Megan Thee Stallion. According to Deadline, the Houston-born rap diva may be joining the cast, alongside the Grown Ups star, who many are eager to see work with the Safdies once again.

Many of the project’s details remain under wraps at this time, though we do know it’s been produced for Netflix and will take place “in the world of sports memorabilia.” Safdie siblings Josh and Benny wrote the screenplay, which has incredibly high expectations following the sweeping (albeit snubbed) sensation that was Uncut Gems. While Thee Stallion is best known for her tantalizing twerking and braggadocious bars, this rumoured upcoming role certainly won’t be her first venture into acting.

In the world of television, she’s previously appeared in Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, as well as the STARZ stripper drama, P-Valley. In addition to that, we’ve also seen Thee Stallion alongside industry veterans like Christina Hendricks and Matthew Lillard in NBC’s Good Girls. As far as films go, the world is anxiously awaiting the “Hot Girl Summer” hitmaker’s theatrical debut in A24’s upcoming musical comedy, F*cking Identical Twins. Other famous faces in the cast include Nathan Lane, Bowen Yang, and Megan Mullaly.

In other news, now that she’s officially back outside following a hiatus after Tory Lanez’s trial, Megan Thee Stallion is preparing for her first performance of the year on Friday (March 31). The concert will mark her first time taking to the stage in Houston in several years, and 1501’s Carl Crawford sent out a surprisingly warm welcome letter ahead of her concert. Megan Thee Stallion Is In Talks To Join Adam Sandler In The Safdie Brothers’ Next Movie

It’s become a bit of a tradition for Josh and Benny Safdie to cast singers and rappers in their movies. In 2017’s Good Time, it was Necro. For 2019’s Uncut Gems, the Weeknd did cocaine in a bathroom with Julia Fox.

The brothers haven’t announced a title for their next film, but we do know it will star Adam Sandler (casual reminder that he deserved an Oscar for Uncut Gems) and, in the rapper-turned-actor role, Megan Thee Stallion.

Deadline reports:

Megan Thee Stallion now in talks to star alongside their Uncut Gems collaborator Adam Sandler, according to multiple sources… Specifics as to the plot, and even the title of the new film remain tightly under wraps, though Sandler recently confirmed its setting in the world of sports memorabilia. The Safdies will direct from their own script and also serve as producers on the pic, which is gearing up for production this summer.

Sandler recently revealed that the movie should begin shooting in the summer. “I love those guys,” he said about working with the Safdies. “I know we’re going to dedicate ourselves into working our asses off and making sure it’s as good as it can be, and I know that takes a lot of time.” As for Megan Thee Stallion, she will make her big-screen debut in A24’s R-rated musical F*cking Identical Twins from Borat director Larry Charles. She will, presumably, not twerk with She-Hulk again.

Adam Sandler Teases “Insane” 340-Page Script For Next Safdie Brothers Collab

Adam Sandler says that his next film with Josh and Benny Safdie is “insane.” Sandler discussed the group’s follow-up to 2017’s Uncut Gems during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“They’ve been writing this movie we’re supposed to do together for a couple years. They just write hundreds and hundreds of pages,” Sandler told the outlet. “I’ll read them and I’ll say, ‘I like the part when this…’ And they’ll be like, ‘Oh, that’s not in it anymore. We did a whole other thing. We’re going to send you a new draft.’ They just don’t stop writing and thinking and coming at every angle they can, and this movie we’re going to do is pretty amazing.”

Sandler further added: “The first draft of the new one was 340 pages! It was insane and it was great.” While Sandler and the Safdie brothers have kept quiet about details regarding the film, Deadline reports that the story is set in the world of high-end card collecting. The untitled project could begin filming as early as Q2 2023.

Sandler previously discussed the project during a discussion with Entertainment Weekly back in April 2022. At the time, he said: “Their work ethic is bananas. They’re always working, always writing, always thinking. I don’t know what I can tell you, but it’s gonna be very exciting. It’s different. But I don’t want them to ever say, ‘What the hell did you tell him that for?’ So I’ll just let them talk [about it].”

He continued: “I love these guys, I love ’em. I mean, they’re incredible filmmakers… Of course, I would die to work with them again, because it’s a brand new feeling. But the funniest thing is when I would say to the Safdies, ‘Your future is so bright,’ they didn’t want to talk about that. They were like, ‘I just like ‘Gems,’ man.’ They just were so deep in it.”
