Ray Allen’s Son Reportedly Committing To Rhode Island

Ray Allen is a basketball legend. After a stellar college career at UConn, Allen was picked fifth overall in the 1996 NBA Draft. His number was later retired by UConn. He spent his first seven years in Milwaukee before taking his services to Seattle. However, his Hall of Fame career is best known for his time in Boston between 2008 and 2012, where he won a championship. Traded to Miami in 2012, he won another ring in 2013 before retiring in 2014. Allen retired as a 10-time All-Star. Furthermore, he won a gold medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Allen was a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 2018.

Before and after his retirement, he pursued a number of charitable endeavors. In 2021, he accepted a position at Gulliver Prep in Miami. As well as serving as director of girls and boys basketball, he would serve as head coach of the boys’ varsity team. On that team was Allen’s son, Ray Allen III. Now, the younger Allen is announcing his college intentions.

Ray Allen III Headed To Rhode Island

According to Rhode Island color analyst Chris DiSano, Ray Allen III is about to become a Ram. “Hearing Ray Allen III is expected to join @RhodyMBB as a preferred walk on in the fall. He and Dad were at a Ryan Center game back in February. Looking fwd to seeing him in Kingston,” DiSano wrote on Twitter. Furthermore, there is a little more family history at play as well. Rhode Island assistant coach Duane Woodward faced off against the older Allen when he was at Boston College and Allen at UConn.

The Rams went 9-22 in the 2022-23 season under first-year head coach Archie Miller. Previously, Miller had led Dayton and Indiana. The last time the Rams reached a postseason tournament was in 2018, when they reached the second round of March Madness. Allen III is currently unranked by all major recruiting services and will not have a scholarship in his first year. Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

However, for just a split second, I can recall the first viewing of whatever movie or TV show is being celebrated.

Today, the app reminded us that May 1st is the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest sports movies created. ‘He Got Game’ is now old enough to start looking for other health insurance. Instead of staying with its parents for another year. The film stars titan of the film industry, Denzel Washington. As well as NBA legend Ray Allen. Who plays a young Jesus Shuttlesworth hoping to make his professional basketball dreams come true. Check out some of the best tweets from the anniversary celebration.

Twitter Relives ‘He Got Game’

The Spike Lee film follows Allen’s character during one of the biggest decisions of his life. Shuttlesworth (Allen) is choosing which college he will attend to further his basketball career. However, along the way, Washington’s character (Shuttlesworth’s father) is tasked with recruiting his son to a certain school. But the recruiting services of Washington’s character mean more than just getting his son to play for a certain school.

The movie has become a cultural icon and one of the greatest sports movies of all time. Washington delivers in the only way he knows how. Kevin Garnett Reveals How Kobe Inspired Him To Drop Ray Allen Beef

Kevin Garnett was one of the greatest players in the NBA during his era. Moreover, he was able to bring a championship to the Boston Celtics franchise back in 2008. Overall, it was a great achievement for that team which boasted the talents of Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo. Unfortunately, Pierce and Garnett eventually had beef with the likes of Ray Allen. This is due to Allen joining those iconic Miami Heat teams during the early 2010s. For years, Garnett didn’t even want to look Allen in his eyes.

However, if you were watching Paul Pierce’s jersey retirement ceremony, you would know that they have patched things up. If you are a Boston Celtics fan, this is truly incredible to see. You never want legendary players to be beefing with one another, especially when they meant so much to their respective teams. Not to mention, you never know what can happen to people from one day to the next. Leaving things on bad terms with people can leave you feeling empty and broken when it is all said and done.

Kevin Garnett Makes A Statement

While speaking on the Allen situation, Garnett explained why he decided to patch things up. Overall, it mostly had to do with Kobe Bryant and his unexpected passing. In the eyes of KG, life can be very fragile, and he didn’t want to leave his relationship with Allen on bad terms. “The passing of Kobe and all of us getting older helped me understand that life is not given to none of us,” Garnett said. “It would have f*cked with me if something were to happen to Ray and I didn’t get a chance to amend this.”

The Garnett-Allen beef was always one-sided, to begin with. Allen never spoke ill of KG, however, Garnett was always making interesting comments about his former teammate. Regardless, the two have mended fences, which is truly great to see. Hopefully, we get to see more reunions between these two, in the future.
