Fat Joe Claims He Was Dissed At Nas’ Birthday Party For Being From The Bronx

Fat Joe has claimed he got dissed at Nas’ birthday for being from the Bronx. “I was at Nas’ birthday party. And you have to understand that hip-hop culture is my life. It was taught to me that hip-hop was color-blind. And if you loved hip-hop music, we loved you. So I got to Nas’ 50th birthday party and I’m surrounded by Queens guys. Now my wife is from Queens. N.O.R.E., one of my best friends, is from Queens. And then out of nowhere, I hear a voice say ‘Yo, this is Queens side. Go over there, that’s the Bronx side.” Joe was absolutely blown away by the diss, saying that the Queens-Bronx rivalry was “so long ago”.

However, Joe declined to name the person who had dissed him. However, The Bridge Wars were a very real thing, which is what Joe was getting at. The rivalry, which dominated the 80s and 90s, was started by a feud between Boogie Down Productions (Bronx) and Juice Crew (Queens). Furthermore, many Bronx rappers have pointed to albums such as Nas’ 1994 icon Illmatic as proof that “the Bridge is still live.”

Fat Joe Has High Praise For Fif’s Get Rich Or Die Tryin’

Furthermore, staying in New York, Fat Joe actually had some praise for one of Queens’ greatest music export. Speaking on Get Rich Or Die Tryin, Joe was happy to give Fif his flowers. “One of the greatest albums of all time. And it’s crazy ’cause I had beef with him and I wouldn’t allow myself to hear it, wouldn’t let DJs play it. But I knew that it was G-Unit.” Additionally, he continued. “Recently J. Cole came out at his concert and said it was the greatest album of all time. Nas came out and said, ‘Yo this changed the game.’ And it’s a fact,” Joe said.

However, he hasn’t done singing Fif’s praises. “His flows, his melodies, his beats, the energy Hip Hop music had never felt. That energy that he was coming with, it was like yo, this is that — you got that dangerous thing to it. He teamed up with Mr. Professional, Dr. Dre and Eminem. See, 50 Cent woulda still been amazing but he’d have came with those New York beats that was really really good, but once again, Dr. Dre makes everything iPic. He makes everything crystal clear. He just gives you that professionalism like you on a podium or something,” he continued.

N.O.R.E. And Nas Link-Up Backstage After A Wu-Tang Show

For the second year in a row, Nas and Wu-Tang Clan are touring together in a massive team-up of 90s rap legends. Currently, they’re playing shows all across Europe including a show in Paris last night. Turns out there was a special guest at that Paris show, N.O.R.E. of legendary rap duo Capone-N-Noreaga. Today video made its way to social media of N.O.R.E and Nas linking up backstage after the show.

The pair look like they haven’t skipped a beat. Nas immediately lights up with a massive smile and gives a big hug to his old friend. The two New York legends meet up and discuss the show Nas performed among a number of hip-hop veterans. Just last month N.O.R.E explained how “surreal” it felt to interview Nas on his Drink Champs podcast. He also recently performed at the throwback Lovers & Friends Festival where he once again linked up with some legends backstage.

N.O.R.E hasn’t been particularly busy on the musical front. His last new single came out back in 2021 and featured verses from Conway The Machine and Method Man. Nas on the other hand has kept himself very busy with his Kings Disease series. The trio of albums has dropped once a year for each of the past three years. They’re a continued collaborative effort between Nas and producer Hit-Boy. He also received critical acclaim for his 2021 album Magic a shorter record that features A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier. This year Nas has kept busy with the deluxe edition of Kings Disease III dropping a few months ago. He’s also lent guest verses to a handful of songs including tracks by Hit-Boy and Swizz Beats.

It’s unclear if the pair have any plans to ever link up for new music together. N.O.R.E gave hints after his performance at Lovers & Friends that it may be one of his last performances ever. Whether or not he will continue making music even if he ceases to perform is yet to be seen. What do you think of the two Queens icons linking up backstage? Tell us in the comments below.

Rolling Loud Will Not Return To New York In 2023

Bad news for East Coast festival goers and mosh pit frequenters. Rolling Loud announced on Friday (March 17) that it will not be returning to New York in 2023. Moreover, the massive hip-hop festival just wrapped up its run in Los Angeles and is looking forward to another July weekend in Miami. However, those who wanted to see the celebrations reach Queens again this year are not in luck. Still, their team did say that it’s not a final goodbye to the Big Apple as a festival destination, as it seems that logistical issues became too large to ignore.

“For the last few years, we’ve made some legendary moments happen in Queens,” the statement read. “We saw the beginning of the King Vamp era, Travis power through his full set through the pain, Carti and Uzi reuniting on stage, Nicki, 50 Cent, and A$AP Rocky putting on iconic headlining performances in their hometown, Juice WRLD’s final festival performance, and many, many more moments. Sadly, due to logistical factors beyond our control, Rolling Loud will not return to New York in 2023. But don’t worry, this isn’t ‘goodbye,’ more like ‘see you later.’ We’ll be back in New York when the time is right. In the meantime, we invite all of our New York fans to meet us in Miami July 21-23 for our biggest, best festival of the year. Love you all! Rolling Loud forever!”

Rolling Loud New York Will Not Return This Year

Of course, the festival’s logistical issues in New York are well-documented and caused quite the controversy. Furthermore, the New York Police Department and the city banned various drill rappers from the area from performing at last year’s iteration. Not only did this anger the artist themselves, but it caused an uproar and major discussion in the culture. Even though festivals are hectic and potentially dangerous experiences, many wondered whether it was right to take such a stance.

Regardless, many incredible live performances at the recent Los Angeles festival should hold fans over from afar. Unfortunately for those close to Queens that looked forward to another run this year, it looks like it’ll be some time before they hit New York. However, Rolling Loud Miami is currently in pre-sale phases, so perhaps this is the year to head on down. Let us know whether you’re going in the comments and return to HNHH for the latest updates on your favorite festivals.

Afterward, he mentioned seeing another rapper down the way but didn’t provide a name for the artist.

From there, he continued: “I’m looking in the rear-view mirror as it’s going on. I’m not knowing if the n****s is trying to come get me or go get Nas ’cause n****s is trying to get whatever n****s got. Nas got the bracelet that’s like $4,000 in diamonds and I got a wad of money, and Nas got the wad of money and I got the truck,” he said. “If I hit the n*gga then the cops is gonna come get us because the vehicle is going to be at the scene of the crime. So I can’t save Nas. I got to go; I got the kids. But I’m keeping my cool like, ‘Oooh I got the two two right here, oooh these suckers.’”

Murray’s story about Nas isn’t the only reason he’s made headlines as of late. He also shared several other wild stories during recent interviews.
