Okay, back in 2021, Donald Trump’s spokesperson denied that the former president ever made positive remarks about Adolf Hitler. However, recent revelations have cast significant doubt on those denials. A new report by The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg includes startling claims that Trump expressed admiration for the control Hitler’s generals exercised.

Listen, Trump has a thing for authoritarians. He professes his respect for Putin, keeps a picture on his wall of meeting the dictator of North Korea, and the list goes on and on. So is this a stretch to believe?

According to the report, “Trump has frequently voiced his disdain for those who serve in the military and for their devotion to duty, honor, and sacrifice. Former generals who have worked for Trump say that the sole military virtue he prizes is obedience.” The report continues: “As his presidency drew to a close, and in the years since, he has become more and more interested in the advantages of dictatorship, and the absolute control over the military that he believes it would deliver. ‘I need the kind of generals that Hitler had,’ Trump said in a private conversation in the White House, according to two people who heard him say this.”

Despite this, a Trump spokesperson told The Atlantic that the quote is “absolutely false,” insisting that the former president “never said this.”

Of course they denied it. But are the American people buying the denial? We know some are. The ones who wear those bright red hats made in China.

Retired General John Kelly—Trump’s former Homeland Security secretary and White House chief of staff—has gone on the record with Goldberg, confirming the accuracy of the disturbing comments. In the report, Kelly recounts a conversation with Trump about “German generals,” in which Kelly tried to clarify what the president meant: “‘Do you mean Bismarck’s generals?’ I said, ‘Surely, you can’t mean Hitler’s generals?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, yeah, Hitler’s generals.’”

And get this, Kelly also corroborated another troubling claim, saying that Trump used derogatory terms like “suckers and losers” to describe American soldiers who died in defense of the country. “There are many, many people who have heard him say these things,” Kelly said, further emphasizing the gravity of Trump’s remarks.

The retired general has openly criticized Trump before. He has described Trump as “poisoning” people’s minds, having “serious character issues,” and being “not a real man.” In various interviews, Kelly has detailed Trump’s disregard for democratic institutions, saying he has “no idea what America stands for” and showing “nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.”

What’s more, Kelly’s revelations come amid other accounts that paint a disturbing picture of Trump’s admiration for authoritarianism. In his book The Return of Great Powers, journalist Jim Sciutto reported that Kelly recalled Trump privately stating that Hitler “did some good things.” In The Divider, written by Peter Baker and Susan Glasser, Kelly also shared that Trump wanted his generals to be more like “the German generals” of World War II.

What it comes down to is Kelly has been clear that Trump regularly made unethical demands during his presidency, including pushing for the use of the Internal Revenue Service and the Justice Department to target critics and political opponents. Kelly made it clear to Trump that such actions would be illegal and unethical, but Trump, according to the report, continued to make the demands.

The ad manipulated a clip of Charlamagne’s comments to make it seem as though he opposed Harris’ stance, which advocates for providing necessary medical care to transgender inmates.

This ad has been running nonstop and you may have seen it on your ad supported streaming services. The fact that Charlamagne has made a legal move shows that many people are not taking this massive disinformation campaign by Trump, lying down.

The Breakfast Club personality and bestselling author has taken legal action, demanding that Trump immediately remove the portion of the ad that includes his voice. “Cease and desist been sent,” Charlamagne confirmed, addressing the controversy. He further criticized Trump, saying, “Since when does Trump care about what’s legal!?”

Get this, Charlamagne originally made the comments during a discussion of the campaign ad, noting that it initially had a strong impact on him. “I’ll tell you what, that ad they was running during the football games this weekend claiming the vice president supports funding gender transition surgeries for all prison inmates and migrants in the U.S., that was nuts,” Charlamagne said.

He admitted that, at first, the ad’s message was compelling: “When you hear the narrator say Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners, that one line I was like, ‘Hell no, I don’t want my taxpayer dollars going to that.’”

Get this, he continued, acknowledging the ad’s effectiveness: “That ad was impactful. It literally said that Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners and migrants. It made an impression.”

Vice President Kamala Harris, however, has consistently advocated for transgender rights, including access to healthcare and gender transition treatments for transgender individuals in state custody. In a 2019 statement to the ACLU, Harris said, “It is important that transgender individuals who rely on the state for care receive the treatment they need, which includes access to treatment associated with gender transition.”

The VP reaffirmed her stance by saying, “I support policies ensuring that federal prisoners and detainees are able to obtain medically necessary care for gender transition, including surgical care, while incarcerated or detained. Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment.”

Charlamagne’s legal move underscores his rejection of the misleading use of his words and his stance on ensuring accurate representation in political discourse.

You would think Trump learned from his first two defamation cases that resulted in him owing E. Jean Carrol nearly $90 million but guess he likes burning his hand on that same stove.

The Exonerated Five, formerly known as the Central Park Five, have filed a defamation lawsuit against Donald Trump in response to comments he made during a presidential debate in September 2023. The lawsuit was triggered by Trump’s remarks during the Sept. 10 debate in Pennsylvania, where he falsely claimed that the five men — Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, and Korey Wise — had pleaded guilty in connection with the 1989 assault and rape of a Central Park jogger, and that the victim had died as a result.

If you saw the debate, Trump stated: “They admitted — they said, they pled guilty. And I said, well, if they pled guilty, they badly hurt a person, killed a person ultimately. And if they pled guilty — then they pled we’re not guilty.” However, in reality, all five men had pleaded not guilty during their trials, and the victim survived the attack.

Get this, the lawsuit, filed in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, argues that Trump’s statements are “demonstrably false.” It asserts, “Plaintiffs never pled guilty to any crime and were subsequently cleared of all wrongdoing. Further, the victims of the Central Park assaults were not killed.” The complaint also highlights the emotional and reputational harm caused by Trump’s remarks, stating that the men, now in their 50s, have “suffered injuries as a result of Defendant Trump’s false and defamatory statements.”

Taking you back, the Exonerated Five, who were teenagers at the time of their indictment, spent years in prison before being fully exonerated in 2002 when DNA evidence linked another man, a serial rapist, to the crime. Their wrongful convictions, based on coerced confessions, drew widespread attention and criticism, particularly as the case occurred during a time of heightened racial tensions in New York City.

When it comes to Trump, in 1989, then a real estate mogul, he publicly called for the reinstatement of the death penalty in large newspaper ads in response to the Central Park case. The city of New York later agreed to pay the five men $41 million in a legal settlement after their exoneration.

Get this, Yusef Salaam, now a New York City Council Member, was present at the debate when Trump made the defamatory statements. The five men are seeking a trial to determine the amount of damages, though no specific financial figure has been requested.

Of course Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign, dismissed the lawsuit as “another frivolous, Election Interference lawsuit, filed by desperate left-wing activists.” Yeah, okay, buddy.

What’s more, Shanin Specter, attorney for the Exonerated Five, responded by saying, “Unfortunately the civil justice system doesn’t permit us to require Mr. Trump to apologize or retract his statement. The most that we can obtain are money damages both to compensate these five men for Mr. Trump’s damaging their reputations and for punishment of Mr. Trump for making these statements.” Specter added that while an apology or retraction would be welcome, “we are not holding our breath for that.”
