Peso Pluma is preparing to take the Coachella 2024 stage on Friday night, April 12, and he might have inadvertently dropped a clue about his setlist earlier in the day. Pluma and Arcángel released the video for “PESO COMPLETO,” and its vibe rivals whatever will go down at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California across the next two weekends.
To start, Pluma and Arcángel step into the ring with sumo wrestlers. They’re not planning on wrestling these massive athletes because that would be silly. Instead, they just bop around and rap in the ring in between the action, which is a relatable decision. However, that is pretty much where any relatability ends.
Elsewhere in the video, the Latin superstars throw around thousands of dollars. At one point, Arcángel casually makes it rain while seated on a jacuzzi occupied by a beautiful woman. We then see several more beautiful women in bikinis around Pluma, who raps poolside while holding (yes) a stack of cash. Sadly, nobody ever joins the woman in the jacuzzi, but she’s not totally alone. The video ends with her filing bills into a cash-counting machine and fanning herself with money.
In February, Peso Pluma signed his first-ever brand partnership with Sony. “I’m excited for the opportunity to collaborate with Sony’s ‘For The Music’ campaign to continue opening pathways for Latin music,” Pluma said in a statement at the time. On Thursday, April 11, Pluma and Sony jointly announced the launch of the ULT POWER SOUND series, which is described in a press release as “a new series of Bluetooth speakers and headphones designed to make users feel like they are front row at a concert.”
“The powerful sound and massive bass of the ULT POWER SOUND® series excites me,” Pluma said in a statement. “As a musician who relies heavily on bass when creating my music, I feel that these products provide the best listening experience for my fans, and there is nothing else like it.”

The product launch includes ULT TOWER 10, ULT FIELD 7, ULT FIELD 1, and ULT WEAR. According to a press release, each product will be available sometime in “spring 2024” at Sony’s official website, Amazon, Best Buy, and “other Sony-authorized dealers.”
The pricing is based upon “suggested retail price”:
ULT TOWER 10: $1,199
ULT FIELD 7: $499
ULT FIELD 1 in black, forest gray, off-white, or orange: $129
ULT WEAR in black, forest gray, or off-white: $199.99
In one of Sony’s promotional videos, Pluma jaunts into a quiet museum with a smirk because he knows he’s about to use the ULT TOWER 10 to put on an impromptu concert for the unsuspecting museumgoers. The paintings even come to life!

Peso Pluma has partnered with Sony for its “For The Music” audio campaign, marking the Latin music artist’s first-ever brand partnership. Pluma joins the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Khalid, and Tate McRae who have partnered with Sony for the movement, which aims to create authentic music experiences and transcend emotion for fans.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to collaborate with Sony’s ‘For The Music’ campaign to continue opening pathways for Latin Music,” said Pluma in a statement.
“Since the launch of ‘For The Music,’ we have cultivated such amazing collaborations with artists on products and experiences that have brought their creative vision to fans in new and innovative ways” said Jordy Freed — Head of Brand, Business Development, Partner Marketing & Strategy, Personal Entertainment Business in Sony Corporation of America — in a statement. “We are thrilled to continue this work with Peso Pluma and support him as he takes his music to new levels.”
The “For The Music” movement consists of three categories — “For The Ear,” which emphasizes the cutting-edge technology of Sony’s audio products; “For The Stage,” which features products designed for immersive musical performances for artists; and “For The Studio,” creating tools for the production process, where all the magic begins.
Spring is coming up, with the first official day of the new season being March 19. That means summer is coming, which means festival season is near. In recent months, fests have been unveiling their lineups, and we have another one today (February 20): Baja Beach Fest.
The 2024 edition of the annual event is set to go down from August 9 to 11 in Rosarito Beach, Mexico (which is barely across the border and just over a three-hour drive from Los Angeles, for reference). Headlining the three-day, 18-plus, reggaeton- and Latin-focused fest are Rauw Alejandro, Peso Pluma, Fuerza Regida, and Kali Uchis. Becky G, Yandel, Mora, Jhayco, Sech, Latin Mafia, Xavi, Jowell Y Randy, De La Ghetto, Alvaro Diaz, Snow The Product, and more.
When it comes to passes, prospective attendees can currently join a waitlist via the Baja Beach Fest website. Their are four tiers of three-day pass: 3-Day GA at $459, 3-Day GA+ at $629, 3-Day VIP at $959, and 3-Day La Playa at $2,059, with no hidden fees attached to any of those prices.
The beachside fest has a lot to offer beyond the music as a press release notes, “During the festival, the town comes alive with merchants, surfing, ATV riding, horseback riding, and other beach activities, street food, and more, creating a party atmosphere that extends for blocks in either direction.”

Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, artfully known in the music industry as Peso Pluma, carries an aura that’s as striking as his stage name. Born in the vibrant outskirts of Guadalajara, Mexico, on June 15, 1999, Peso Pluma was not one to be confined by geographic boundaries. His youth saw him oscillate between the streets of New York and the classrooms of a high school in San Antonio, Texas. Armed with a self-taught mastery of the guitar—thanks to YouTube, that modern Oracle of Delphi—he began penning lyrics that would later come to defy the norm and, some might argue, provoke more than a raised eyebrow. His net worth sits at an arresting $4 million in 2024, as per GorillaOverview.
Peso Pluma’s entrance into the music industry was no ordinary affair. While his debut album, Ah y Qué?, unceremoniously flew under the mainstream radar, his third opus, Genesis, cannonballed its way to No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in 2023. The narrative of success wasn’t limited to album sales. His single “Ella Baila Sola,” a collaboration with Eslabon Armado, swung its way to No. 4 on the Hot 100 charts. It wasn’t long before collaborations with other heavy hitters like Bizarrap, Junior H, and Becky G etched his name into the annals of musical history.
The Cost Of Candor: Risks In A Harsh Spotlight
As one might suspect, an audacious personality and even bolder lyrics can attract not just fandom but also precarious attention. Case in point: banners threatening Peso Pluma sprang up across Tijuana in September 2023. This led to the cancellation of his anticipated concert in the city after being threatened. The artist’s verve, immortalized in songs praising Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, catapulted him into the realities of drug culture. Unsurprisingly, when threats surfaced, Peso Pluma prioritized the safety of his fans, thus pulling the plug on his Tijuana concert.
The Business Backbone: A Safe Haven For Artistic Valor
Supporting the charismatic musician is a robust structural entity—Prajin Music Group. This institutional powerhouse provides the infrastructure for Peso Pluma to be as bold and as unapologetically himself as he pleases. In a sense, the organization serves as a both a shield and a stage, enabling the artist to tackle sensitive issues head-on without sacrificing his creative integrity.
Artistic Irreverence Meets Financial Acumen: The Paradox Of Peso Pluma
Peso Pluma represents more than just a personality or a creative force; he embodies a paradox. In an industry often criticized for its ostentatious superficiality, Peso Pluma brings depth, albeit of a controversial variety. In his career, he’s achieved milestones that many would consider a chimera. He made history as the first Mexican star to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards, for instance. His success is no accident but rather the result of audacious artistic decisions and sound financial strategies. It’s no small feat to maintain such an equilibrium, and yet, Peso Pluma seems to have mastered the art effortlessly.
Chicago’s Sueños Festival is set to take place over Memorial Day Weekend (May 25 and 26) in Grant Park, with Peso Pluma, Rauw Alejandro, Maluma, and Ivan Cornejo headlining the popular event. Other acts on the 2024 lineup include Young Miko, Xavi, Latin Mafia, Gabito Ballesteros, Jowell y Randy, Bizarrap, Bad Gyal, and many more.
As fans gear up to head to Grant Park to watch their favorite performers, some who don’t have tickets yet might wonder how they can still attend.
Right now, yes, this year’s Sueños Festival is currently sold out. Those who are still hoping to go can try joining the waitlist through the festival’s official website. This includes a separate waitlist depending on the tier of ticket you might want, as four levels are being offered.
Fans could also try their luck at finding a resale pass through other methods, but it might be risky in terms of scams or higher prices.
Still, given that the festival has only been running for a few years, the fact that they sold out of all their passes and types speaks to just how great the 2024 iteration should be.
Some of the artists mentioned here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
