Justin Jefferson Is Now The Highest Paid Non-Quarterback In NFL History

This offseason, the Minnesota Vikings saw significant roster changes. Two of their stars, Kirk Cousins to Atlanta and Danielle Hunter to the Texans, left the team in free agency. They also made some significant additions of their own. They added Aaron Jones from the rival Packers and Jonathan Greenard to lead a revamped defensive line. In the Draft, Minnesota moved up to take QB JJ McCarthy at No. 10 overall. Even though the roster saw significant changes, the Vikings’ primary goal had to be signing All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson to a new contract. Signing JJ would be smart so that they could give McCarthy, their prospective franchise quarterback, a genuine top target.

The market was reset a couple of times as Jefferson and the Vikings took their time in negotiating a contract while other elite receivers received big salaries throughout the league. After much negotiation, the agreement was ultimately completed on Monday. Adam Schefter revealed the terms of the four-year, $140 million contract, which includes a $110 million guarantee. This makes Jefferson the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

Jefferson has been one of the NFL’s best receivers since being selected in the first round out of LSU and moving to Minnesota. Despite playing just 10 games due to injuries last year, he managed to surpass the 1,000-yard mark, something he has never done before in a season. With 5,899 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns in his first four years in the NFL, Jefferson has been recognized for three All-Pro selections (one on the first team) and won the 2022 AP Offensive Player of the Year award.

His new pay surpasses the large contract the San Francisco 49ers awarded defensive end Nick Bosa the previous season. Furthermore, it is higher than other recent wide receiver agreements, such as those inked by Amon-Ra St. Brown and A.J. Brown earlier this summer. Bosa’s annual salary is almost $34 million, but Jefferson has surpassed him by more than a million dollars. He is now committed to the Vikings for the long haul, and in order to maintain his high caliber of play, he will aim to develop a rapport with the team’s new quarterback.

It seems like Travis Kelce is going solo to the Chiefs’ White House bash. In a video that Kansas City just uploaded, he may be seen boarding a bus to 1600 Penn Avenue without seeing Taylor Swift. Joe Biden was scheduled to recognize Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and the other 2023 Super Bowl victors this afternoon. Many had questioned if the K.C. tight end’s well-known girlfriend would attend. Ultimately, she’s taking a little vacation from her “Eras” tour dates, and according to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, every Taylor Swift fan in the office was definitely hoping to see her. However, it looks like the pop sensation is sticking overseas for the time being.

Travis Kelce was photographed traveling solo dolo as he boarded the team’s vehicle. The tight end was looking good in a tan suit and black tie. Of course, there’s still a chance that Taylor might make it there. Since none of the Chiefs seemed to be traveling with their significant others on the bus earlier on Friday, it is absolutely feasible that she took a different route to go to the President’s residence.

The music video features Waller talking to a woman, who many have pointed out, suspiciously looks like his ex-wife Kelsey Plum.

“I’ve struggled with intimacy in romantic relationships my whole life, and I recognize the toll it has taken on the lovers I’ve been close to,” the 31-year-old said on Thursday. He continued, “Essentially, I’m telling myself, from the damage I’ve done, that it’s imperative for me to heal the wounds in my life I’ve been avoiding by seeking relationships.” Additionally, in the music video, Waller can be seen singing to a woman. He claims it symbolizes him putting himself in her position.

OJ Simpson’s Estate Gets Hit With Massive Tax Lien

When he was alive, O.J. Simpson avoided giving millions of dollars to the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. It appears that he is still doing so from beyond the dead, avoiding paying them once again. Although Malcolm LaVergne, O.J.’s longtime attorney and current administrator of his estate, stated that he planned to discuss finances with Ron and Nicole’s respective families, he claims that an unanticipated tax bill is posing a new challenge.

Malcolm revealed to TMZ that Simpson’s estate is subject to a $572,402.69 hefty tax lien from the state of California. Malcolm claims this might jeopardize his plans to partially pay O.J. owes the families of his victims $33.5 million from the 1997 wrongful death case. O.J. was judged responsible for Nicole and Ron’s deaths in a Santa Monica civil court despite being cleared of all charges during his murder trial. Despite the $33.5 million judgment, interest on the outstanding debt has reportedly increased to $100 million.

Malcolm reports that earlier this month in his Las Vegas office, his attorney met with the Goldman family. Additionally, he met with an assignee for Ron’s mother, Sharon Rufo, who put her rights to the judgment up for auction. He alleges a spokesman for Nicole’s estate did not come up, despite being invited. They reportedly looked into O.J. Simpson’s bank accounts, 401(k) plan, tax records, and more. The Goldman attorney and Sharon’s representative were informed that they would be let inside the estate with the goal of fulfilling their judgments.

It’s not clear when this will happen, though. Malcolm says he’s still looking at the estate’s value, particularly in light of the tax lien. He claims that the $500K debt took him off guard. He alleges he may have to file a lawsuit to resolve it before “it wipes out any idea I had in my head to pay Goldman something,” though it “would be nice.” Overall, even though O.J. Simpson is gone, his massive legal and pop-cultural legacy is still in the news.

Following a lot of online discussions, NFL news aggregator Dov Kleiman on Twitter announced on Monday night that dancer and choreographer Hayden Hopkins and Raiders owner Mark Davis are having a child together. However, that was untrue. Hopkins swiftly refuted the claim, and Kleiman removed his post on X after that.

“Reports of Mark Davis being the father of my child are wildly untrue,” Hopkins wrote on X. “I was pictured sitting next to him at a game in 2022 and have endured false rumors of a romantic relationship since. I was just a guest sitting in the owner’s box with other friends.” She continued, “These continued media stories are negatively affecting what should be my happiest days. The Chiefs duo, who have won three Super Bowls in the previous five years, appeared to be enjoying themselves immensely as they watched Kyrie Irving and Luka Dončić show out in crunch time once again for the Mavs. Meanwhile, as Kelce and Mahomes appeared on the Jumbotron, fans at America Airlines Arena enjoyed themselves immensely by booing Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.

As the spotlight turned to Travis and his teammate Patrick Mahomes, who was seated courtside, the crowd’s reaction was a mix of applause and jeers. Travis, seemingly taken aback but still sporting a grin, was the unexpected focus of attention. When his QB was revealed, the audience reacted much more warmly.
