Kodak Black Teases Album With Drake: ‘We Got a Lot of Songs’

Kodak Black and Drake are cooking up.

While speaking with reporters at a press conference for the inaugural Kodak Black Day music festival in his hometown of Pompano Beach, the “Super Gremlin” rapper revealed that he and the 6 God have been in the studio working on music.

“Me and Drake we got some more music,” Kodak teased, according to iHeartRadio. “It’s really on whenever bruh might feel like he ready and stuff.”

It’s unclear how many songs they have recorded, but Kodak hinted that it could end up being an entire project. “They be like, ‘Is we gone drop the album? We gon’ do this?’ It’s really on him. We got a lot of songs though,” he said.

The two have shown love for each other in the past. “We do a lot behind the scenes talking and sh*t,” Kodak told “The Breakfast Club” in February.

Drake, who gifted Kodak with $250,000 in Bitcoin, has bestowed praise on Yak. “You really all that for this generation and the next one if we being honest,” he told him in January.

Before he and Drake drop their collab, Kodak is readying his own album Guns N’ Roses. “I’m finna drop that Guns N’ Roses next,” he said.

He also opened up about collaborating with Kendrick Lamar on Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. “I appreciate that boy acknowledging me and all of that,” Kodak said. “And he a Gemini like me. I just know he’s a real one. He’s a real one and I appreciate him.”

Roddy Ricch Arrested on Gun Charges

Roddy Ricch was arrested on weapons charges Saturday in Queens, New York, just hours before he was set to take the stage at the Governors Ball.

The “Box” rapper and two other men were en route to the festival when police stopped their vehicle at a security checkpoint around 6:30 p.m. After searching the car, police found a loaded firearm, nine rounds of ammo, and a large capacity magazine, reports TMZ.

Roddy—whose real name is Rodrick Moore—and two associates, driver Carlos Collins and bodyguard Michael Figueroa, were charged with four counts, including criminal possession of a weapon, possession of a large capacity ammo feeding device, and unlawful possession of that device.

Fans were informed that Roddy wouldn’t be performing 45 minutes after his scheduled 6:30 p.m. slot when he was a no-show onstage. Amid rumors of his arrest, the festival tweeted, “Unfortunately Roddy Ricch is no longer performing today.”

As of Sunday morning, Roddy remains in custody at Queens Central Booking awaiting arraignment on the charges.

The Governors Ball has been plagued by issues. Migos dropped out earlier this week and Lil Wayne was supposed to replace the group as a headliner, but he canceled just before his Friday night set due to a “flight disruption.” A$AP Ferg performed in his place.
