Dame Dash Promises Roc-A-Fella Chain To Highest “Reasonable Doubt” Bidder

The Reasonable Doubt saga continues. 2024 has been defined by beef on record, but the tension between Dame Dash and JAY-Z regarding the latter’s debut album has been just as dramatic. Dame Dash owns 1/3 of the album. He’s openly campaigned to sell his portion to the highest bidder, and gone out of his way to make the deal appealing. Dame Dash further sweetened the pot on August 19, when he announced that he would gift a Roc-A-Fella chain to whoever agreed to purchase a third of the album (and by extension, Roc-A-Fella, Inc).

“I’ve gotten a lot of calls, a lot of offers from people I don’t know,” Dash told his Instagram followers. He then threw some shade towards those who have tried to talk down the $10 million asking price. “It would be because they wanna buy it,” he asserted. “If you do wanna buy 1/3 of Roc-A-Fella, Inc,” Dame Dash noted. “Anything over ten million, I’m gonna sweeten the pot. You get an original Roc-A-Fella chain from around my neck.” The co-founder claimed to be the only one who gave out Roc-A-Fella chains during the label’s heyday. “If I don’t give you the chain, it’s not a legit Roc-A-Fella chain,” he decreed.

Dame Dash Promises A Roc Chain From His Own Neck

Dame Dash, ever the businessman, evoked an iconic Roc-A-Fella moment during his pitch. He reminded fans of the moment when he gifted Kanye West a chain during a concert in 2003. “Kanye, Cam’ron,” he added. “If you’re gonna call, please have the intention of spending some real money.” Dame Dash’s post comes days after the music executive threw shade at JAY-Z’s legal reps. A filing from the rapper’s lawyer claimed that the rights for Reasonable Doubt will switch to his possession 2031. Dame Dash fired back and denied these claims on Instagram.

“They can say what they want, this sh*t is still for sale,” Dash stated. “You’re not buying a copyright, you’re buying a piece of a company ROC A FELLA INC. Please only serious inquiries only!” Big names like Drake and Kendrick Lamar have been mentioned as potential buyers, but none have seriously made bid attempts. Lupe Fiasco suggested Drake should purchase a share of the album. Fans, meanwhile, urged Lamar to step in since he considers Reasonable Doubt to be one of the best releases of all time. Either way, Dash will keep the world posted.

Post Malone’s New Country Album Predicted To Top Billboard Charts

Post Malone is the latest rapper to roll the dice on a different genre. The artist who broke out with smash singles like “rockstar” and “congratulations” has gone full country. No trap drums or 21 Savage features in sight. And it worked. F1-Trillion, Malone’s latest offering, has proven to be a smash out the gate. Chart Data ran the numbers on the album on August 19, and predicted that F1-Trillion will top the Billboard 200 with sales landing between 200-225K units first week.

If true, Post Malone will have completed one of the most successful genre pivots in recent memory. Fans have seen people like MGK drop successful albums in other genres, but Malone is in a different league in terms of album sales. He’s one of the best-selling artists of all time, and he currently holds the record for most Diamond-certified songs in Billboard history. F1-Trillion will actually signify a big comeback for Post Malone. The artist hasn’t had a chart-topping album since 2019, despite putting out albums in 2022 and 2023. The genre pivot looked like a smart commercial move, even if its led to lots of criticism from fans.

Post Malone Hasn’t Topped The Billboard 200 Since 2019

Post Malone has long been criticized for his role within hip-hop. He’s downplayed the genre’s depth with regards to songwriting, and instead championed genres like rock and country. He’s also been labeled a culture vulture from the moment he blew up. Post Malone addressed these criticisms as far back as his 2015 appearance on The Breakfast Club. “I’m not scared [to be labeled a culture vulture] because I’m not trying to be anything I’m not,” he explained. “I like what I like and I don’t think I’m biting off a certain culture of copying a certain culture… I like what I like.” The irony, now, is that Malone is getting backlash from country artists who have the same complaint.

Post Malone recently sat down for an interview on CBS This Morning. He admitted that the criticisms did get to him. “It sucked. I was a kid,” he conceded. “It’s hard not to [take it personal].” The artist claimed to take up drinking as a means of coping. His solution more recently has been to focus on his fans instead of his critics. “It’s not for the people who hate you,” Post Malone asserted. “It’s for the people who love you and yourself.”

Dre Dre Credits Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” For Unifying Compton

Dr Dre has seen it all and done it all. He’s one of the pioneers of G-funk, and one of the most respected figures in the history of California hip-hop. His co-sign means a lot, which is why his appearance at the Pop Out show on Juneteeth was so special. Dr Dre introduced Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” in what turned out to be an iconic moment for the genre. Dre reflected on the performance during a chat with Complex Magazine, and how it was actually more important than fans might have realized at the time.

Dr Dre was questioned about Compton’s unity, or lack thereof, during the interview. He was fed a line from Vince Staples, who claimed that Compton gangs had been more unified than the media portrayed, and that Lamar’s Pop Out Show merely shined a light on it. Dr Dre disagreed with Staples’ take, but was hopeful that the success of “Not Like Us” will bring about change. “I’m not sure if that’s true or not,” Dr Dre asserted. “But I think Kendrick was able to bring that together for that moment. Hopefully that moment can move forward.”

Dr Dre Admits Things Feel “Different” After “Not Like Us”

Dre voiced uncertainty over the future, especially given the history of gang violence in the city. “I’m not sure if that’s possible or not,” he noted. “Because it’s gonna take more than just one event to get that accomplished. Once it’s done everybody goes home to their home teams. And then they go back.” The interviewer asked whether the Pop Out felt different from Dr Dre’s perspective, and he agreed. “It does feel different,” he noted. “But hopefully it can continue.” Snoop Dogg accompanied Dre during the interview, and he was similarly enthusiastic about Kendrick Lamar’s post-“Not Like Us” success.

Snoop Dogg was more aligned with Staples’ sentiments, but noted that someone of Kendrick Lamar’s caliber was needed to showcase it. “What Kendrick did was he united the whole city based off of him being a king,” the rapper noted. “Creating peace, giving homies the opportunity to come on stage. He’s about peace. He’s about love.” Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg credited Lamar’s big picture mentality to the fact that he doesn’t belong to any one gang. “He ain’t from no gang,” Snoop noted. “He’s from a city full of gangs and he unites cities.”

Fivio Foreign Plans To Meet With Trump After Dropping Endorsement Song

Fivio Foreign is a Donald Trump supporter. The rapper has made it clear that he’s a fan of the former President, and his support has seemingly been rewarded. Foreign took to Twitter on August 18 to reveal that he will be meeting with Donald Trump. The rapper didn’t provide context for the meet up, but he was clearly excited. “Linking up w Trump inna couple days,” he wrote. The meeting was confirmed mere days after Fivio Foreign dropped a pro-Trump single titled “ONBOA47RD.”

The single, a collaboration with Kodak Black, saw Fivio Foreign sing the praises of Donald Trump. “I look at the gang, and I pledge the allegiance,” he raps. “So we’re all Donald’s secret.” “ONBOA47RD” also has samples from Donald Trump speeches, including in which he promises to fight for the American people. “I will fight for you with every breath in my body and I will never, ever let you down,” the former Pres says. Neither Fivio Foreign or Kodak Black get too specific with regards to policy, but they are passionate. Fivio may be psyched to link up with Trump, but his fans did not share his enthusiasm.

Fivio Foreign Received Criticism From Fans On Twitter

The rapper took to Twitter to get feedback regarding his upcoming meeting. The rapper asked fans what he should ask Trump when he sees him, and the answers were uniformly scathing. Some told Fivio to ask why Trump to justify some of his bold public statements. Others took it a step further. They asked why the former President uses rappers as pawns to bolster his status among specific voter bases. This one, obviously, applies to Fivio Foreign himself. The rapper decided not to respond to any of the answers that his fans provided.

Fivio Foreign may be in the minority when it comes to hip-hop artists endorsing Donald Trump, but he is not alone. Kodak Black has been a steadfast supporter. Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G actually spoke at a Trump rally in New York. Then there’s Lil Pump, who has been a Trump supporter since the election in 2020. The rapper has continued to target Trump’s opponent, Kamala Harris, on social media, and has even promised fans that he’ll perform a Harris diss track at an upcoming Trump rally. It remains to be seen whether said diss track actually exists.

Akbar V Puts August Alsina On Blast For His Thoughts About Dating Another Man

A few days ago, R&B artist August Alsina made some pretty revealing statements via Nick Cannon’s Counsel Culture platform. On the show, the veteran went on to share that God helped him discover other people, places, and things when talking about how he’s able to love other men. “It’s that power that’s higher than myself. I always say that the greatest gift that God could have ever given me was exposure. To expose me to so many different kinds of people, places, things”, Alsina said.

“So, it’s like, when people want you to define yourself as whether you’re gay, straight, bisexual, or whatever it is you was just talking about, love is much more complex than that and has much more depth. So, for me, I’m just the kind of person that, because love is a language, I’m fluent in love when it speaks to me”. However, this really set reality TV star, Akbar V, off. According to theJasmineBrand, Akbar V went on several rants about Alsina and how he is “play[ing] with God toooo much”.

She is warning others to steer clear of the things he’s saying because he’s essentially lying that God would ever allow this. “He gives us a choice… How did God do this and he says it’s a sin? So does that mean God is a liar? … Kids, don’t believe this. God don’t do this … His word don’t come back void”, Akbar V preaches. Fans then fired back at her for attacking Alsina on his views. Many felt she was being insensitive; however she feels that everyone’s mad at her for voicing “the truth”. V even went to add that she’s not trying to “down August Alsina”. However, she is hoping he comes to his senses. “I’m not against my brother; I’m basically saying God hasn’t told him that because God doesn’t like sin… and if we are sinning, God is not a God who promotes sin then tells us not to sin… I am praying for my brother and hope one day he finds the truth about the true living God”.
