The NBA trading scene and eventual deadline are some of the most exciting parts of the league. Sometimes, massive season-altering swaps can change the landscape. That could be the case for the Chicago Bulls and shooting guard Zach LaVine. For the past couple of seasons, the house that Michael Jordan built has been stuck in mediocrity. The core of LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, and the injury-riddled Lonzo Ball just has not panned out.

Chicago has been exploring options for the UCLA product, but the market is not great. Especially, because LaVine has not been on the floor in about four weeks with foot soreness. Furthermore, it has to do with the fact that the Bulls have been playing solid basketball without him. There are lot of factors working against him, but teams, like the Los Angeles Lakers, would still take him.

Zach And Rich Have Time To Find A New Possible Destination

According to Uproxx, Rich Paul spoke with The Athletic about rumors that his agency, Klutch Sports, is doing everything in its power to send him to LA. He pleasantly denied those serious allegations. “I don’t have a specific destination for Zach. I want what’s best for Zach and his family.” Paul continues, “In the event the Bulls decide they would like to go a different direction with the team, and it involves Zach, then I’m sure we’ll have conversations to get clarity on what’s best for both sides.” The reason for thinking he will wind up on the West Coast is because of the obvious ties of LeBron James and Anthony Davis being with Klutch.

James Harden Dodges 76ers Media Day, Still “No Traction” On Trade: Report

Besides the Damian Lillard trade this offseason, the other major developing storyline is James Harden. It seems like every offseason includes some drama around him and this one is no different. After being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers over a year ago, there were plenty of reports claiming he was as hungry as ever to win the NBA Finals. He got to join his friend and general manager, Daryl Morey, with Joel Embiid as his partner in crime. Now, here we are, just a year later, and he already wants another trade to a new preferred destination.

There have been plenty of reports from the most trusted sources such as Adrain Wojnarowski from ESPN, about Harden. From calling his now seemingly ex-friend Morey a liar, to making claims the relationship is over, he is doing everything to get out of Philly. He has been adamant about his desire to play for the Los Angeles Clippers. However, nothing has really gained any footing.

In the series of tweets above from Woj, the insider-extraordinaire reported that Harden did not speak to the team’s media. Of course, this is his way of getting across his point to be sent to the west coast. Now, Adrian followed up on the first post that he could be fined for missing media day. Harden already received a fine for the Morey comments. The NBA will most likely follow through with another fee for this behavior. There were rumblings of players like Ivica Zubac being packaged in a trade, but, other than that, nothing has materialized.

The Portland Trailblazers were finally able to strike a deal to send a disgruntled Damian Lillard to a new home. However, one more extra team was brought in to get this one done. While he does not get his wish to join the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler, he does still have a chance to compete for an NBA championship. That is what he desperately wants to add to his impressive resume. The Milwaukee Bucks emerge as the victors in the trade as they bring in the seven-time all-star to go along with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

This formidable duo may now be prohibitive favorites over Boston, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and Miami to reach and win the NBA Finals. The other team involved in this trade is the Phoenix Suns. The Blazers will get Jrue Holiday, who will be elsewhere, Deandre Ayton, and Toumani Camara. Additionally, a first-round pick in 2029 and the right to swap first-rounders in 2028 and 2030 all from Milwaukee are in the package too. For the Suns, they receive Nassir Little, Grayson Allen, Jusuf Nurkić, and Keon Johnson.

Possibly the person hurting the most from this trade is Miami’s superstar, Jimmy Butler. The two were expecting to be taking the floor together for almost the entire duration of the offseason, but that is now over. Jimmy is one of the funniest athletes in the sport and he reacted to the news the best way possible. In this clip above, he hilariously demands the NBA to investigate the Bucks for tampering with the Lillard trade. He says, “Yo NBA man. Y’all need to look into the Bucks for tampering.” He goes on, “Y’all do. I’m just gonna put that out there. Y’all didn’t hear it from me but I heard it from somebody.” This will be big storyline throughout the 2023-2024 NBA season in what will be another exciting campaign.

James Harden Has “No Plans” Of Participating In Training Camp, Despite 76ers Ending Trade Talks

James Harden reportedly doesn’t intend to participate in training camp for the 76ers, despite the team deciding not to trade him. According to a new report from The Athletic, Harden remains adamant about his time in Philadelphia coming to a close before the start of next season.

“No matter what signals the Sixers might send when it comes to trade talks, a source close to Harden reiterated that the 10-time All-Star and former MVP no longer wants to play for Philadelphia and has no plans of taking part in training camp,” Sam Amick of The Athletic writes.

The report continues: “Does that mean he won’t report if a deal doesn’t go down by that point, or that he’ll make a messy spectacle of his training camp arrival like he did when he was trying to get out of Houston back in December of 2020? That part remains unclear, with Harden’s side still expressing a belief that there will be meaningful developments on the trade talk front before that time comes. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.”

The 76ers initially agreed to search for a trade partner for Harden when he signed his $35.6 million player option in June. Unfortunately for both sides, it seems they were able to find a suitable deal. If Harden does return, he’ll be back to playing alongside MVP-winning center Joel Embiid. Despite sweeping the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the 2023 NBA playoffs, they failed to make it passed the Boston Celtics in the second round. As a result, the team fired head coach Doc Rivers, who had been with the organization since 2020.

Tobias Harris Calls Out Sixers Fans Amid Trade Rumors

Tobias Harris has been garnering a lot of attention lately. However, it may not be for any reason that he would like it to be. Before Bradley Beal was traded to the Phoenix Suns, Harris was mentioned in a potential trade. At the time, the Suns were thinking about moving on from DeAndre Ayton. A plan that has since been put on the back burner. However, one of the landing spots for Ayton would have been in Philadelphia. As the rumor went, Harris would have been dealt to Pheonix.

However, now the Suns are claiming that they are sticking with Ayton. At least for one more season. For Harris, he still remains in Philadelphia. But it does seem like the trade talk is started to wear thin. In a recent interview, Harris was asked about his thoughts on being traded from Philadelphia. Depending on the cookie and the amount of cookies I would receive, it would be hard for me to not want to trade everybody. Nevertheless, it seems that Harris feels slighted by the trade rumors.

The 6’9 forward does have the numbers to back up a great season. Last year, Harris averaged 14 points and 5 rebounds for the Sixers. Both numbers are a little below his career average. However, this past season in Philadelphia may have been the most talent that Harris has played around. There are a lot of questions left to be answered in Philadelphia before the start of next season. A big one will be if Tobias Harris is still on the roster for opening night. However, that hasn’t stopped the NBA rumor mill from mentioning Young. Young has been the topic of recent potential trade discussions. While it would take a lot for the Hawks to deal with their young superstar. But nothing is impossible when regarding an NBA trade. For Young, he has everyone still guessing.

“It could be false, could be true, you never know,” Young answered when speaking with The Athletic. The Hawks star has been an offensive sensation since joining the league. In his time in college, Young was can’t miss television for Oklahoma. The Sooners star was defying the odds of just how far someone can consistently shoot the ball. Obviously, the comparisons with Steph Curry were inevitable. Young has proved there is no range for a dead-eye shooter like him.

Young’s 2022-23 campaign has been exactly what you would expect from him. The two-time all-star averaged 26 points and 10 assists this season. However, the Hawks didn’t make that leap in the Eastern Conference Standings. A potential early exit in the play-in tournament could really heat up the trade rumors. Young was traded on his draft night by the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic. The trade is now known as one of the biggest NBA Draft trades in history. A trade that everyone is uncertain on who actually won.

Trae Young is no stranger to having an unknown future. But the Hawks star isn’t letting his guard down when discussing where he could be next season.
