Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics came up short during the 2022 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. Although Tatum played in each of the 24 games the Celtics had in the playoffs, the last matchup with the Warriors was done so with a fracture in his wrist.

Speaking with Bleacher Report, Tatum revealed that he played through an injury against the best the NBA had to offer.

“Eight weeks later, it showed that I had a non-displaced fracture in my wrist,” Tatum told Bleacher Report. “And it was small but it was still a non-displaced chip. So I chipped a bone but it didn’t leave the surface. But it had shown that the bone had grew over it so it healed, but I was still in pain because I kept getting hit or falling on it. So I guess I played with somewhat of a fracture for two months.”

Over the weekend, Tatum got some shots up with LeBron James at the Crawsover Pro-Am in Seattle, showing that he is ready to go for the coming season. You can see highlights here.

Blue Ivy Carter Couldn’t Help But Get Embarrassed By Her Dad Jay-Z Courtside At The NBA Finals

Yesterday was a big day in the NBA, as the night started with the Celtics and Warriors tied at 2 wins apiece in the Finals, with Golden State ultimately winning and taking the series lead. An event like that is bound to bring out the stars to watch, and sure enough, it did, as Jay-Z and his daughter Blue Ivy Carter were courtside. While Jay-Z was arguably the coolest person in the building, to Carter, he was clearly still just an embarrassing dad.

At one point during the game, the PA announcer made a note of the pair’s presence, at which point Jay, who was all smiles, lovingly put his arm around his daughter. Carter briefly took exception to that, saying something to Jay and trying to get his hand off her. She quickly relented, though, and stewed in some minor embarrassment as Jay gave her a kiss on the cheek.

All in all, it seems like the two had themselves a good night, as they got to say hi to E-40 and meet up with Stephen Curry in the bowels of the Chase Center after the game. They certainly had a better time than the Celtics, whose turnovers and missed free throws throughout the evening stopped them from getting a win and going up 3-2 in the series.

It’s officially scary hours in Boston as the Golden State Warriors relied on Andrew Wiggins, who stepped up for an ice-cold Stephen Curry and win Game 5. The Warriors will return to Boston for a Game 6 against the Celtics, which can clinch their fourth championship in eight years.

In the 104-94 victory, Wiggins scored 26 points and added 13 rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Although Wiggins led the team, the win placed the trio of Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson in rare air as they have the most Finals game wins of any trio in decades.

After the game, Green reflected on the trade that landed Wiggins, noting fans and analysts looked at Wiggins as just a “piece.”

“A lot of people looked at that trade like, oh, that’s another piece they can move,” Green said to ESPN. “We looked at the trade from the very beginning like that is a guy who can fit next to a healthy group absolutely well. … He’s continued to show that. He’s continued to get better. He’s taken on every challenge that we have thrown in front of him. And that’s been huge. And we need him to do that for one more win.”

Wiggins, coming over after being a key in the Minnesota Timberwolves, spoke about the adjustment and stated he loves the winning culture.

“They have won before, and they have dominated the NBA,” Wiggins said. “When I got here, they put you in position to succeed. They always bring out the best in you. They want the best for you. You know, supportive.”

Game 6 of the NBA Finals will be this Thursday at 9 EST.

SOURCE SPORTS: Jayson Tatum Links With Nelly After Game 3 of the NBA Finals

Two St.Louis finest performed well on the court last night in Boston’s TD Garden. Boston Celtics’ small forward, Jayson Tatum, a St. Louis native, led his team to a pivotal game 3 victory over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. And Nelly, an iconic rapper from St.Louis that helped pioneer the Midwest movement in hip-hop, entertained fans during halftime.

Tatum scored 26 points and dished out nine assists, and the Boston Celtics beat the Warriors 116-100. Stephen Curry led the way for the Warriors with 31 points, including six 3-pointers.

In the first half, the game wasn’t even close. Celtics guard Jaylen Brown scored 17-points in the first quarter and led Boston to a 68-56 lead into halftime. Then the 2nd St. Louis star shined, Nelly.

If Twitter serves as any indication, Nelly still got it. At the half, the three-time Grammy Award-winning and double diamond certificated artists took canter court to do the halftime show. He wore his fellow STL native’s Boston green jersey and dazzled the crowd. Fans were on their feet as he performed several classic hits.

After the game, the two St.Lunatics met and happily embraced each other’s company. Fresh off the win, Tatum enthusiastically grabbed his son, Deuce Tatum, and went to chop it up with Nelly immediately after.

Who knows what the two conversed about, but they couldn’t hide their excitement of being two St.Louis natives achieving major goals on the main stage.

Tatum left the court to change for the press conference, and he spoke on the relationship he shares with the “Country Grammar” rapper.

“That’s my guy. I’ve known Nelly forever… Nelly is arguably like the most famous guy from St. Louis… until I catch up,” said Tatum.

The Golden State Warriors have bounced back to their championship form as they defeated the Boston Celtics 107-88 last night in the Chase Center.

In game 2, Stephen Curry did Stephen Curry things. Curry finished with 29 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. He also added five crowd electrifying 3-pointers. The Warriors tied the series 1-1.

For the Boston Celtics, Jayson Tatum led the way with 28 points, but most of his damage was in the first half, by scoring 21 points. His running mate Jaylen Brown, the new addition to DONDA Sports, pitched in with 17 points.

The Celtics kept the game close in the first half, as they only trailed 52-50 going into halftime, but a huge third-quarter surge from Golden State separated the two teams. The Warriors outscored the Celtics 35-14 in the third period, leading to a series-tying victory.

The NBA Finals are now tied at 1-1. Game 3 is Wednesday in Boston.

If someone said Stephen Curry would have six 3-pointers in the first quarter and Jayson Tatum would only have 12 points, you would think the Warriors would win, right? Well, that didn’t happen. Despite an aggressive start for Curry, the Boston Celtics still stole game one of the NBA Finals, 120-108.

The young Boston Celtics, who collectively have zero finals experience, leaned on a combination of energetic youth athleticism and veteran leadership. The 15-year season vet, Al Horford, led the Celtics with 26 points, including a career-high six 3-pointers.

“I felt like the guys kept finding me time after time. Also, Derrick White hit some tough shots there, too,” said Horford, who turns 36 on Friday (June 3). “I was just getting the looks, knocking them down. That’s that.”

The Warriors put on a show scoring 38 points in the third and led 92-80. The former San Antonio Spur, Derrick White, added to the 3-point mirage. White finished with 21 points and shot 5-8 from behind the arc. Going into the fourth quarter, the Celtics trailed by 12.

However, in the fourth quarter, Boston beat the Warriors at their own game. They hit their first seven 3-pointers en route to a 40-16 fourth quarter. That fourth-quarter exposition for the Celtics led them to take the game in San Francisco. Stephen Curry, who finished the first quarter with 21-points, finished the game with 34.

Tatum, despite having only 12-points, played a role as a play-maker. He finished with 13 assists, and his running mate Jaylen Brown, the new addition to Kanye’s DONDA Sports, finished with 24 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

Golden State will have a chance to even this best of seven series on Sunday night back at Chase Center.

Yo Gotti, Moneybagg Yo, Mozzy, and Lil Poppa have a heater on their hands. Gotti announced via Twitter that “Big League” is the “official song of the NBA finals,” and upon first listen, no one should be surprised, as the song is filled with basketball references.

Moneybagg swoops in, rapping, “Been won a championship in the trap/This Rollie a trophy, I hold it up/They let us get up in the points, it’s a wrap/Gon’ shine every time, it’s an open look.”

In a recent interview with Billboard, Gotti took pride in assembling a line-up of all-stars in his Collective Music Group label, promising that he would never allow himself or his artists to sell out. “As a label, one thing we don’t do and will never do is be in a bidding war,” he said. “You want to be with us? Then we’ll work out business terms that make sense for both of us.”

The Western Conference Finals are over as the Golden State Warriors beat the Dallas Mavericks 120-110. The Warriors were up as many as 25 points and didn’t trail during a game in the series.

“Tonight was different because we’ve done it before,” Kerr said. “But in a different way, it was incredibly meaningful given everything that we’ve been through organizationally over the last couple of years.”

Stephen Curry won the Western Conference Finals MVP award. The first to be honored with the trophy.

“It was more just a message for us,” Curry said to ESPN. “It wasn’t for anybody else. It was a message for us to stay locked on the opportunity that was coming our way because we had built such a good momentum finishing the years, reestablishing what Warriors basketball was.”

Steph Curry and Draymond Green joined the Inside the NBA crew after the win, which you can see below.
