Lizzo And Myke Wright Are Still Together, Spokesperson Claims

For those who don’t know, the past couple of weeks have been intense for Lizzo, to say the least. The songstress was hit with a lawsuit from some former backup dancers, who accused her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile working environment. She was additionally accused of body-shaming one of the dancers, going against everything Lizzo’s preached to fans over the years. Amid the fallout, internet sleuths also noticed that Lizzo had unfollowed her partner, Myke Wright, who she’s been with for approximately two years.

He unfollowed her too, and she went on to delete all photos of him on her social media profiles. This, of course, led users to speculate. Despite rumors that they could have split amid her newfound legal trouble, they’re apparently still very much an item. A spokesperson for the “Juice” performer spoke with DailyMail today (August 11), to set the record straight. They told the outlet that there is “no truth” to claims that the couple has broken up, squashing speculation.

Reportedly, a source added fuel to the fire earlier this week when they told The Sun that they had split. “Lizzo has taken the past few weeks very hard and her relationship has suffered,” they claimed, “They had a big falling out earlier in the week and she is really upset.” The source continued, “Both of them have thought of themselves as soulmates, so it has been really hard on them. Those close to them are hoping they will make up.”

Fortunately for Lizzo, it looks like she still has Wright in her corner. Things have only been compounded this past week, as it was reported that six additional former dancers came forward with allegations against the artist. They claim that they have “similar stories” to the first ones to come out, accusing Lizzo of subjecting her employees to a “sexually charged environment.”

Lizzo “Hard Launches” Relationship At 2023 Grammys

Lizzo performed a “hard launch” of her relationship at the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday. The Special singer shared a picture of herself with her partner on Instagram afterward. A number of celebrities commented on the picture, including SZA, Lori Harvey, Kehlani, Eric Andre, and more.

Lizzo is currently dating standup comedian Myke Wright, according to Page Six. The two have been romantically linked since 2021. They met back in 2016 when they worked as co-hosts on the MTV series Wonderland. Lizzo first confirmed that the two were in fact dating during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live in 2022. They made their red carpet debut at an event for Lizzo’s Amazon Prime Video reality series, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.

Lizzo ended up taking home a total of three Grammy awards at the ceremony. She won Record of the Year for her Special single “About Damn Time.” She also won Best Remixed Recording for “About Damn Time (Purple Disco Machine Remix).” Lizzo was also nominated for Album of the Year (Special), Song of the Year (“About Damn Time”), Best Pop Solo Performance (“About Damn Time”), and Best Pop Vocal Album (Special). Lizzo also performed “About Damn Time” on stage at the ceremony. While accepting the award for Record of the Year, Lizzo spoke about the impact Prince had on her.

“When we lost Prince, I decided to dedicate my life to making positive music,” Lizzo said on stage. “This was a time when positive music wasn’t mainstream at that point. I felt very misunderstood … but I stayed true to myself. Because I wanted to make the world a better place, so I had to be that change to make the world a better place. Lizzo And Myke Wright Did A ‘Hard Launch’ Of Their Relationship During Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammys Gala

Love is in the air this Grammy weekend. As we saw earlier in the night, Offset and Cardi B couldn’t keep their hands off of each other at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammys Gala. Also in attendance were Lizzo and her longtime boyfriend, Myke Wright.

Looking happily in love, Lizzo shared images of her and her man on her social media accounts, announcing a “Hard Launch” of their relationship.

Though, to hardcore Lizzo fans, this “Hard Launch” comes as no surprise at all. In her HBO Max documentary Love Lizzo, which premiered last November, Lizzo detailed her relationship with Wright, from their first meeting, to their first break-up, to the healing process, to finding their way back to each other.

As she mentions in a fan-favorite cut from her sophomore album, Special, Lizzo does not “Break Up Twice.” In an interview with Howard Stern that took place last December, Lizzo said her relationship with Wright is something she believes will last forever.

“Don’t waste your time, honey. I am very much in love with Myke.” She said. “There’s nobody else I’m going to be with for the rest of my life.”
