Rico Nasty Is The Perfect Headliner For The Spring 2023 Monster Energy Outbreak Tour

Since its inception in 2011, the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour has been a launching pad for a wealth of up-and-coming artists, including stars like Latto and Flo Milli. Early in its existence, the tour focused mainly on hardcore acts, which makes it fitting that the next female rapper lined up to headline it is Rico Nasty.

Rico’s music is heavily informed by punk, metal, and hyperpop, with her red-lined-bass-infused beats bolstered by her boisterous, scream-rapped lyrics. The Maryland native also incorporates hardcore aesthetics into her live show, from rocking with an all-girl thrash band to spitting in fans’ mouths.

Her makeup and fashion are also very goth/scene inspired, which fits with the Monster theme. It’s also a chance for Rico fans to see her headline a show for the first time since dropping her debut, Nightmare Vacation, in 2020; since then, she’s opened for Playboi Carti, but the results were less than satisfactory for both her fans and his (no surprises there, though). She followed up with Las Ruinas last year, so she’s got plenty of new material.

Now, she gets to prove herself on her own terms — something that should excite fans of her free-spirited, in-your-face style. See tour dates below and get more info here.

Flo Milli And Monaleo Are Hitting The Road For The ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour’

You know, there’s probably a fascinating deep dive waiting to be written about how energy drinks have somehow become the drivers of pop culture. While you might be aware of Red Bull’s work in the music business as a part-time label and tour promoter, Red Bull’s rival, Monster Energy, has become quite the tastemaking hub in its own right via the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour, which most recently sent Latto and her supporting acts Kali and Saucy Santana on their first national tour.

This year, another rising star is getting her first headlining tour courtesy of Monster: Flo Milli, who recently announced her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour supported by special guest Monaleo. Kicking off in Atlanta on October 18, the tour will run through November 16 in Los Angeles. “It’s gonna be a party every night, and I can’t wait to perform these new songs for everybody!” said the Alabama brat rapper.

Of course, those new songs will include entries from her new album, You Still Here, Ho? like “Big Steppa,” “No Face,” and “Conceited.” You can get ticket info here and see below for the dates.

Latto Is Headlining The Monster Energy Outbreak Tour In 2022

Latto, who had a big breakout in 2020 with the release of her debut album, Queen Of Da Souf, maintained her momentum in 2021 with songs like “Fast Lane” from the latest installment of the Fast & Furious film franchise, “Big Energy,” which marked a pop-leaning lane change for the normally hard-punching Atlanta artist, and “Soufside,” a rugged ode to her hometown. It looks like that trend’ll continue in 2022, as she preps the release of her sophomore album and announces a headlining spot on the upcoming Monster Energy Outbreak Tour.

The tour will begin in March in Santa Cruz, California, and continue through to April, when it will conclude right back in Latto’s hometown, Atlanta. Tickets will go on sale this Friday at 10 am local time, with pre-sale events today and tomorrow. You can get more information at outbreakpresents.com. In a press release, Latto said, “Monster Energy Outbreak Tour has backed a lot of big artists in the beginning stages of their careers so I’m super excited to work together. It’s been a tough year for a lot of people so I’m looking forward to letting loose and having some fun.”

Latto was recently profiled by Uproxx as our Winter 2022 Digital Cover artist. You can read our cover story here.
