Mad Dog’s “Hardest Sports To Play” Rant Puts Stephen A. Smith On The Floor: Watch

Mad Dog caused chaos on First Take when he dedicated his weekly rant to the “hardest sports to play”. After Stephen A. Smith roasted Mad Dog for his low-energy presentation, Mad Dog put Smith on the ground when he revealed that No. 4 on the list was “curling”. As Smith lay on the ground in disbelief, Molly Qerim threatened to call Mad Dog’s wife to confirm that he had “curled” in the past.

The rest of Mad Dog’s list was also pretty wild. His top three were baseball, golf, and tennis. Football was found at No. 5 while basketball wasn’t present at all. Fans found the list hilarious, if a little silly. However, this is just some classic work from Mad Dog and his wild weekly ravings on the hit ESPN show. What do you think about Mad Dog’s list? Let us know in the comments.

Charles Barkley Said He’d Vote For Stephen A. Smith For President

Meanwhile, less than a week after endorsing Nikki Haley for President, Charles Barkley has now endorsed Stephen A. Smith. “Let me tell you why [I’d vote for you]. Because I know you don’t have an evil bone in your body and I don’t think you have an agenda. That’s all I want. Even if you vote for somebody, you’re not gonna agree on every subject,” Barkley told Smith during an appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show. Furthermore, Barkley also said he’d prefer to see the Democrats nominate California Governor Gavin Newsom instead of President Biden.

As mentioned, the moment comes after Barkley openly endorsed GOP long-shot Nikki Haley on his show with Gayle King last week. Barkley said he was putting his “whole heart” behind Haley before giving her an open platform to address her previous comments in which she stated that America was “never a racist country.” The latter decision led to a lot of backlash against both Barkley and Haley.

The JFK Assassination Serves As Mad Dog’s Bizarre Opening Rant On “First Take”

Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo’s What Are You Mad About? segment on today’s episode of First Take got off to a weird start. In what was meant to be a rant about Thanksgiving, Mad Dog instead opened by sharing his thoughts on the 1963 assassination of then-US President John F. Kennedy. “If anybody out there thinks that Lee Harvey Oswald did that by himself, they’re taking gummies with me. Lee Harvey Oswald, he, uh, that was not a solo deal with the President of the United States, may I say that?” Mad Dog asked before eventually moving on.

Of course, the idea that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone in killing President Kennedy is one of the most popular conspiracy theories around. Today (November 22) marks the 60th anniversary of JFK’s death, but it still doesn’t explain why Mad Dog brought it up on the sports talk show that he helps host. Maybe he’s been watching the same TikToks as Meek Mill?

Stephen A. Debates The GOAT Of Cars

However, Mad Dog is not the only First Take who has gone a little off-rails this week. On The Stephen A. Smith Show, Stephen A. took a bizarre tangent of his own thanks to a caller. “Danny from Wisconsin” called in to ask Smith about the in-universe GOAT debate between Lightning McQueen and Strip Weathers from the movie Cars. “When you’re talking about the GOAT, you can’t talk about Lightning McQueen. He’s tied…He has seven Piston Cups. But so does Strip “The King” Weathers. Strip Weathers has seven Piston Cups. You forget about him?” Smith asked “Danny from Wisconsin”. However, Danny attempted to push his luck, trying to argue that Lightning had more circuit wins at 28.

“I am not about to sit here and argue with a grown-a– man about the movie Cars,” Smith shot back as Danny tried to say his piece about Lightning McQueen. However, Danny tried to switch gears to the Fast & Furious franchise to argue the validity of the question, which prompted a signature Stephen A. response. “YOU’RE NOT A LITTLE KID. YOU’RE 21. YOU WOULD HAVE A POINT IF YOU WERE 7 YEARS OLD CALLING ME. YOU’RE 21 YEARS OLD. WHAT ARE YOU DOING, WEARING A DIAPER? GOODBYE, MAN,” Smith screamed down the phone at Danny.

Mad Dog Outlines Hilarious Plan For Watching Deion Sanders’ Colorado Take On Oregon

You can always rely on Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo to bring his signature wild flavor to First Take. The veteran TV personality joined Stephen A. and Marcus Spears to discuss Colorado’s 3-0 start to the season and their impending Pac-12 opener against #10 Oregon. Then the segment went completely off the rails as Mad Dog outlined his exact plans for catching the night game on Saturday.

First, Mad Dog will be in Flagstaff visiting his son. His day starts with a run and some dog walking before he loosens up with a midday cocktail and a gummie and turns on the afternoon slate of college games. Once he’s “good and sauced”, he will call “Fat Rob” (his bookie) and drop “10 dimes” on Colorado before taking the rest of the gummie and watching the game. It’s a truly wild plan and all we can say is that we hope he enjoys it.

Mad Dog Betting Big On Colorado Upset

However, perhaps the most surprising part of Mad Dog’s day is the $10,000 bet on Colorado. Per ESPN, Colorado are 21-point underdogs against the #10 Ducks. Of the other four ranked v ranked games this weekend, only one other (Iowa @ Penn State) has a double-digit underdog. It’s a major leap of faith in a program about to play its make-or-break game. Furthermore, given the competitiveness of the Pac-12 in the conference’s final season, even just one conference loss could rule you out of the race for the conference title.

At the time of writing, Colorado has six ranked opponents in conference play. Their conference home opener pits them against #5 USC and Heisman favorite Caleb Williams. However, they must also take on 22 UCLA, #14 Oregon State, #21 Washington State, and #11 Utah. Let’s hope, at least for the sake of Mad Dog’s wallet, that Colorado can prove their doubters wrote and score the late-night upset in Eugene. Mad Dog Dedicates “First Take” Rant Segment To Stephen A. Smith And Shannon Sharpe’s Bromance

Chris “Mad Dog” Russo took a couple of shots at the new First Take bromance in his latest “What Are You Mad About?”, his weekly rant segment on First Take. After ranting about the Giants, he took aim at the Stephen A. Smith-Shannon Sharpe bromance. “I really felt we’d come a long way since I got a text a year and a half ago saying “Doggy, can you come in and do First Take,” MD began his third point of the segment. And then all of a sudden, Shannon Sharpe is his blood brother? He takes him to Boulder, Colorado. He didn’t ask me to go.” Mad Dog’s rant became more and more unhinged as he pointed out all of the special treatment things Smith and Sharpe received while in Boulder over the weekend.

Obviously, the whole thing was in good faith and Smith was nearly crying with laughter as Mad Dog lost it more and more. However, it’s nice to see what an expanded and good-natured family First Take has become. Smith has really cultivated a good atmosphere within the Bristol-based group and it’s really paying off in both the entertainment value and the ratings.

Smith Drops Sharpe Bombshell

However, Mad Dog’s reaction is not the only thing about Smith and Sharpe that has been making headlines. During a recent conversation with Joe Budden. During the podcast episode, Smith claimed that he doesn’t view his acquisition of Shannon Sharpe as poaching or anything like that because Sharpe “didn’t leave of his own volition”. It’s the first major behind-the-scenes claim about the atmosphere at Undisputed prior to Sharpe’s departure.

However, it makes sense. It’s an open secret at this point that Skip Bayless has been seeking more and more control over his flagship show at FS1. It’s likely that Bayless wanted Sharpe out so that he could restructure the show to once again put himself at the top of the pecking order. This is supported by the fact several people were considered and rejected to replace Sharpe and most were rejected on the basis that they would be too much of an equal opponent for Bayless. Instead, Bayless reportedly wants easy wins when it comes to his debate partners.

Mad Dog Gives Scathing Review Of Dalvin Cook Signing With The Jets

The New York Jets added yet another potent offensive weapon this week as they signed free agent running back Dalvin Cook. Between 2019 and 2022, Cook had five consecutive 1100-yard seasons on the ground. Furthermore, he is the Vikings’ third all-time leading rusher, only trailing Adrian Peterson and Robert Smith. However, Cook left the Vikings back in July in a cut that many expected, but few Vikings fans wanted to believe was true. It saved the Vikings a lot of money, despite Cook putting up 1173 yards last season.

Cook is the latest big-name addition for the Jets as they try to build a legitimate contender around their primary offseason acquisition, Aaron Rodgers. However, Cook will likely play backup to sophomore Breece Hall, who the Jets also activated from injured reserve this week. There are legitimate concerns that the Jets are now too stacked, with too much talent and not enough game time to effectively leverage it. However, Robert Salah appears confident that the team can mesh. However, not everyone is a fan of the signing.

Mad Dog Mocks Cook Signing

ESPN‘s Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo was especially critical of the signing. “He’s got so much baggage,” the veteran pundit began, “There is a lot of baggage with this guy. Nobody else wanted him. The Vikings let him go, Miami didn’t sign him.” While his fellow pundits were taken about by his claims, Mad Dog stayed vigilant, “How much has Minnesota won? You don’t need running backs. Plus, this creates expectations for the Jets. The Jets fans thought they were going to be great anyways. Now you bring Cook in. Did they need Dalvin Cook to be good?”

Mad Dog’s argument is pretty weak. The Jets got a versatile running back for less than $10 million on a one-year contract, which is crucial given that Breece Hall, the RB1, is coming back from injury. Furthermore, they need that extra veteran presence on a team that is getting consistently younger year on year. For all the experienced talent the Jets are bringing in, a lot of their players are newer to the league. Cook brings good numbers – he out-rushed the Jets’ three top running backs in 2022 combined – and he brings that veteran experience. There is very little that the Cook signing does to hurt the Jets, even if it could be viewed as superfluous.
