Drake Offers $10k Reward For Hilarious Look-Alike Contest Winner

Drake fans in his hometown of Toronto participated in a look-alike competition over the weekend, competing to earn a massive $10,000 prize. Anthony Po, who sparked the viral look-like trend with a Timothee Chalamet competition in New York City, attended the latest event dressed as Drake’s son, Adonis. Drake appreciated the event so much, he not only supplied the reward money, but also ended up reposting several attendees on his Instagram Story.

Popular versions of Drake included “Ozempic Drake,” “Girl Drake,” “Boston Drake,” Durag Drake,” and more. Fans in the comments section of Anthony Po’s recap of the event were loving it. “The face 9th drake made was f*ckin accurate,” one user wrote. Another added: “Girl Drake looks like the girl from the polar express and I love it.” One more joked: “Hope there were no underaged girls there.” While reposting the clips, Drake wrote: “I love this city.”

The look-alike competition in Toronto comes as Drake’s rival, Kendrick Lamar, recently announced a massive concert in the city, slated for next Spring. Together with SZA, he’ll be performing at the Rogers Centre in June. The tour comes after the release of his newest album, GNX. Drake, on the other hand, is also gearing up for a tour of his own. He’ll be traveling to Australia and New Zealand for a run of shows to begin the new year.

Fans Dress Up Like Drake

In other news, Drake also recently filed legal petitions against Universal Music Group over the release of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss track. Check out the video recap from the Drake look-alike event below.

Moneybagg Yo Drops Video With Celebrity Look-Alike & Sparks Reactions With Sexyy Red Starting The Trend

Moneybagg Yo caused mixed reactions after releasing a video next to his celebrity look-alike. Promoting the “twin,” the Memphis rap star was all smiles with the caption, “Got Twin With Me @DukeDennis.” The video would spark reactions, with fans claiming the rapper’s real look-alike is Girlfriends’ actor Reggie Hayes, who played William Dent. “No Moneybagg you look like the dude off Girlfriends,” commented an Instagram user in The Shade Room comment section. Other users equally desired them in the comments. A user compared them to siblings, commenting, “It’s kind of like when you see two brothers, it’s clear they related but one of them finer than the other.”

It appears that Sexyy Red started the trend in August by sharing a photo of a woman who resembled the rap star in striking ways. A social media user commented on the look-alike’s photo, “You look like Sexyy Red if she went to college and majored in physical science.” Another fan commented, “Twins but Red grew up with the daddy side.” Fans would go on to debate who looks better between the two.

Look-alikes are common in rap. Many rap stars have revealed that used them on occasions throughout the genre’s 50 years. Akon revealed that he used his brother Bu to be the superstar when he had multiple shows in a single day. MF Doom and his Doom Bots ran amuck during the peak of the underground legend’s career. Others acts would use look-alikes to humiliate during live shows to diss their rivals. In the 90s, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Tupac used look-alikes of Eazy-E, Biggie Smalls, and Diddy to diss them on their iconic diss songs “Hit’em Up” and “Dre Day.”

Moneybagg Yo spent the last quarter of 2024 on tour with Rod Wave and Toosii. He released the deluxe version of his latest album, Speak Now, over the summer. This year, he collaborated with new artists BlakeANA, Nino Breeze, and Rob49. Moneybagg Yo collaborated with fellow CMG labelmate Big Boogie in October on “Stuff Her.” The song appears on the new album Ether.

GloRilla Claims That People Say Rihanna Is Her Twin

It’s an exciting week for GloRilla because she’s about to drop her debut album, Glorious. It’s coming on the heels of her Ehhthang Ehhthang mixtape, so she’s really looking to maximize her 2024 without a doubt. Just a couple of days ago, the Memphis rapper revealed the project’s tracklist and it’s a pretty stacked one at that. Features will include Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, BossMan Dlow, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, T-Pain, and more. It’s also going to have 15 songs and it’s dropping this Friday, October 11. It’s going to be interesting to see how it compares to her previous tape, as it was a solid release.

But given how rock steady she’s been this year, we expect it to be a better project overall. Overall, we are excited for it, but maybe not as much as someone else. If you remember, Rihanna was yearning for it this summer. In fact, she even DM’d Big Glo asking when her album was dropping. She has not been shy about her support for the “Yeah Glo!” hitmaker, as she recently was vibing heavily to “TGIF,” one of the lead singles to Glorious.

Glo has been extremely thankful for RiRi’s love, and she’s been on the record expressing how much respect she’s got for the R&B legend. You could almost say they love each other like sisters. This comparison has been floating around the internet for a little while that they physically look pretty similar. Glo’s aware of it, partially thanks to her grandmother, but also due to the masses, so she claims. She stated this in a recent interview surrounding the release of her album and the internet isn’t buying that one bit. ““People” Just Be Saying ANYTHING 😂,” one IG user says. “Ain’t nobody said no sh** like that 😂,” another adds. Personally, we do see it just a little bit, but we want to hear your opinions.

What are your thoughts on GloRilla claiming that people say she looks like Rihanna? Do you see any sort of resemblance? Are you excited for Glorious this Friday? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding GloRilla and Rihanna. Chris Brown Is Furious With His Online Lookalike For Pretending To Be Him

Chris Brown is more than happy to post himself on Instagram, and as we saw with a recent post from his mom with him and his dad, he’s also glad to be on other people’s pages. But what he definitely doesn’t tolerate is when people try to be him online, whether they’re outwardly pretending or just trying their best to look like him. Moreover, Breezy recently took to the IG comments section of a viral lookalike of his to blast him for copying his style and implore him to follow his own path. It seems a tad ridiculous to do so, but we’re sure we wouldn’t bat an eye if this wasn’t a lookalike and instead, say, an artist who is clearly influenced by him.

“It’s lame as f**k impersonating me..” Chris Brown wrote in this doppelgänger’s comments section for a recent Instagram post. “you look like you missing a chromosome. BE YOU MY N***A… YOU COULD NEVER BE ME ! SO STOP IT BEFORE I SLAP DA S**T OUT YOU.” It’s also not the only contentious “fan” interaction to pop up as of late. He also recently shared a supposed video of an alleged stalker making death threats, which is a pretty disturbing thing to witness.

Chris Brown Blasts His IG Doppelgänger

Fortunately, Chris Brown’s true fan interactions tend to be much more positive, such as his viral meet and greets for his recent tour. The latest of these was a lucky woman who went with a very romantic plan, or at least, a funny and cheeky idea for a photo. He knelt down on one knee and outstretched his hand, and her awestruck face indicates that he proposed to her… for the pic. We don’t know when the ceremony is, but we hope the $1,111 was worth it.

Jokes aside, this trek has been very successful for Chris Brown, even with some stage malfunctions ruining the fun every once in a while. We’re sure that plenty of lookalikes and copycats attended these events, and that he witnessed many of them for himself. Hopefully they never get to cross paths, as we now know that things are a little more combative than one might assume. As corny as it sounds, sometimes the best advice for most scenarios is to just be yourself.

Simu Liu Responds To Celebrity Look-Alike Segment At NBA All-Star Weekend

Simu Liu has responded to the controversial “celebrity look-a-like” game that played on the jumbotron during the 2023 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. Liu says that he had a great experience at All-Star Weekend, but that the moment stood out and “wasn’t cool.” Many criticized the look-alike game for being racist afterward. Liu played for Team Dwyane Wade at the event. His squad defeated Team Ryan Smith by a narrow margin of 81-78. Janelle Monáe, DK Metcalf, The Miz, and more also played in the game.

“I had a great time but this wasn’t cool,” Liu wrote on Twitter afterward, before adding in a follow-up tweet, “to be perfectly clear the entire org and ops team surrounding all-star have been nothing but absolutely stellar to myself and all my friends. this was just one person with a camera. and no disrespect to my man in the videotron either! he’s gorgeous we just don’t look alike.”

Simu Liu’s Response

Many fans on social media sided with Simu Liu regarding the incident. One user wrote: “i seriously despise how people are so easily comfortable with being racist towards asian people. that fan looks nothing like simu liu at all whatsoever man.” Another added: “Just need to do away with this trend. It’s too touchy. I mean it’s always gonna ruffle feathers whether it’s about race or not. Not everyone likes getting roasted or made fun of. We lose nothing if they stop doing it honestly.” Actress Nathalie Emmanuel also came to Liu’s defense writing, “Oh absolutely not.”

Simu Liu is best known for playing the titular character in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Looking forward, Liu will be appearing in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming film, Barbie. The movie also features Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and more. It’s set to hit theaters on July 21, 2023. He is also set to star alongside Mark Wahlberg in the upcoming movie, Arthur the King. Nathalie Emmanuel will also appear in the film. In 2022, TIME named Liu one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
