Joe Budden Mocks Kanye West For Bizarre Shoutout At Korea Listening Event

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign took over Korea’s Goyang Stadium with their Vultures 2 listening experience last night, and as expected, are making headlines for various bizarre moments. For one, Ye dedicated his track “I Wonder” to Drake, which led to some debate. While some fans thought this was meant as a diss, others suspect he was simply using Drizzy’s name for clout. It wasn’t the only confusing part of the evening, however.

At one point in the show, Ye also gave Joe Budden a shoutout during “24,” following it up with “God’s not finished.” Obviously, there’s room for interpretation here, though most believe he was calling Budden out for criticizing him. Either way, it doesn’t look like the podcaster took the apparent jab too seriously, as evidenced by his reaction.

Joe Budden Reacts To Kanye West Name-Dropping Him

Budden took to Instagram Live today to weigh in as the clip makes its rounds online. He began by performing his own rendition of the moment. “Korean n****s was like, ‘the f*ck you talkin’ bout?’” he added with a laugh. As his friends chimed in off-camera, Budden made it clear he was there “with peace and love” before mocking the shoutout once again. Clearly, he’s not looking for any smoke from Ye, though the same can’t be said for Yung Miami.

Earlier this week, the former City Girl took to X to clown him after his 2003 single “Pump It Up” went gold. She reacted to the news with a simple series of laughing emojis, but her message was clear. Instead of dissing her back, he bowed out altogether, claiming “it would be too easy.” What do you think of Kanye West name-dropping Joe Budden at his Vultures 2 listening event in Korea? What about Budden’s reaction to the bizarre shoutout? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

ScHoolboy Q Previews Grimy New Song At “Blue Lips” Album Listening Event

March 1 can’t come soon enough, because ScHoolboy Q’s new album Blue Lips seems better with every look. Moreover, he recently held an album listening party for the upcoming and highly anticipated project at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (February 25). Specifically, the TDE spitter previewed a particularly grimy, rambunctious, and heavy banger that had the crowd going wild. If this is the kind of quality rapping, impactful production, and charismatically energetic performance that we can expect from this LP, then we’re likely going to get one of the best hip-hop full-lengths of the whole year.

Furthermore, this preview is also particularly exciting because we can only imagine how Hov must’ve reacted to it. After tweeting about his desires to play Blue Lips for Jay-Z ahead of its release, ScHoolboy Q actually linked up with him for a listening session. This was partly due to “hip-hop Twitter” blowing this wish up, and he even thanked a particular account for tagging the Roc Nation legend on the social media platform to make it happen. Just goes to show that in this Internet age, listeners can be the bridge between artists and provoke some amazing things, however casual they may seem.

ScHoolboy Q Previews A Nasty Blue Lips Cut At Listening Event: Watch

Back to this snippet, though, it will be interesting to see how this cut meshes with previous Blue Lips singles like “Cooties” and “Love Birds.” Apparently, ScHoolboy Q is going to bring a lot of different aesthetics, moods, appeals, and sounds to this album, and seeing this versatility grow from its already impressive state is a treat. What’s more is that he seems just as excited to put it out as fans are to listen to it. After all, it’s been almost five years of studio album silence, yet the excitement for the next chapter’s never wavered.

Meanwhile, the West Coast native’s upcoming release also got praise from the likes of Vince Staples. How are these snippets and singles shaping up for you? However you may feel about Blue Lips, let us know in the comments section down below. Also, for more news and the latest updates on ScHoolboy Q, keep checking in with HNHH.

Lil Yachty Talks About New Album & Being “Taken Serious As An Artist”

Lil Yachty expressed some heartfelt thoughts on his new album Let’s Start Here at a listening party on Thursday night (January 27). While some scratched their heads at Yachty’s diversion into psych-rock, they also praised his creative execution along with many others online. Moreover, the 25-year-old said that his talent, passion, and vision extend beyond what people expected.

“This album is so special and dear to me,” he remarked presumably before the album played. “I think I created it just because I really wanted to be taken serious as an artist, you know. Not just some SoundCloud rapper, not some mumble rapper. Not some guy that just made one hit. You know, I wanted to be really taken serious because music is, like, everything to me. You know, I respect all walks of music, not just rap and hip-hop, everything.

“So I think I wanted to make something to show the world just how great it was to me,” Yachty continued. “If we just gonna be honest, I mean, I had n***as that were copying the swag. I just felt like ‘Okay, cool, everyone can do this, that’s fine, but I’m gonna show y’all what y’all can’t do.’ You feel me? That’s what’s on this other side. I hope y’all are good, I hope everybody got the shrooms in your body. You feel me? Like I said, just no flashes, and… see you n***as on the other side.”

While Let’s Start Here definitely displays Yachty’s talents and passions vividly, its atmosphere also points to that cheeky shrooms comment. In fact, it became a part of his social media rollout, along with his trippy visual style in music videos. In addition to a teaser skit, the Atlanta artist also released a music video for his album cut, “sAy sOMETHINg.”

Still, what do you think of Lil Yachty’s thoughts on Let’s Start Here at his listening event, and what about the new album itself? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, come back to HNHH for more insights from the best creatives in the hip-hop game.
