Overall, these sneakers are definitely highly anticipated and feature high-performance materials that are built to hold up on the court.

LeBron James Has Big Praise For Son Bryce For Latest High School Transfer

Bryce James, the younger son of NBA star LeBron James, is changing high schools for the second time this summer. James had been playing for Sierra Canyon High School but opted to transfer to Campbell High School earlier this year. However, after playing in a summer competition with Campbell, Bryce is one the move again. It was recently reported that the top-75 prospect in the Class of 2025 would be transferring to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks. Notre Dame is the defending CIF State Division 1 champion and is considered a major high school powerhouse. Furthermore, the school has a list of successful sports alumni, including the New York Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton.

High school basketball recruiting has become just as competitive as college recruiting in recent years. Top prospects will often move several times during their high school career. Many will even move out of state to play for elite programs elsewhere in the country. That was the case with Class of 2025 prospect Cooper Flagg (#2 prospect in the class). Flagg moved from Maine to Florida in order to play at the elite Monteverde Academy. However, Bryce got a major endorsement from none other his dad following his announcement.

LeBron Praises His Son

“H.I.M. Let’s go Maximus!!” LeBron wrote on Instagram alongside the official announcement image of Bryce’s transfer. With his older son Bronny off to college, LeBron is putting all his energy into Bryce’s own basketball journey. Not only did LeBron show out in South Carolina for the recent Nike EBYL Peach Jam, he briefly became Coach LeBron. The NBA veteran was seen drawing up players for Bryce’s team, Strive For Greatness. Meanwhile, plenty of NBA teams had sent scouts to watch James play, as he was one of the major draws early in the tournament. Bryce, who as mentioned is a top-75 prospect, currently holds just one collegiate offer from Duquesne.

Of course, the news of Bryce’s transfer comes amid uncertainty about his older brother’s future. Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest while training at USC last month. While he appears to be recovering well, uncertainty remains about his basketball future. At the end of the day, whether he continues at USC, and beyond, will depend on what caused the cardiac arrest. Another USC player, Vincent Iwuchukwu, suffered a cardiac arrest while training in 2022. He was able to return to the court in January and appeared in 14 games for the Trojans.

LeBron James And Taco Bell Score Major Victory In Taco Tuesday Campaign

Back in May, LeBron James teamed up with Taco Bell to free “Taco Tuesday” from its corporate trademark limbo. According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the phrase was trademarked by Taco John’s Seasoning in 1989. While this does not affect day-to-day usage, it does legally bar restaurants and other institutions from legally using the phrase. Furthermore, Gregory’s Bar & Restaurant, a family-owned eatery in Somers Point, New Jersey, owned the trademark exclusively in New Jersey.

According to a press release sent to HotNewHipHop earlier this year, “‘Taco Tuesday’ is a tradition that everyone should be able to celebrate. All restaurants, all families, all businesses – everybody. ‘Taco Tuesdays’ create opportunities that bring people together in so many ways, and it’s a celebration that nobody should own.” The push to have the trademark become public domain caught the attention of LeBron, who is reportedly a self-professed Taco Tuesdays fan and adherent. And so the NBA veteran joined the fight to free Taco Tuesdays for all.

Taco Tuesday Trademark Revoked in 49 States

Per a press release sent to HotNewHipHop earlier this week, LeBron and Taco Bell have succeeded in their fight to free the idiom. Taco John’s Seasoning agreed to relinquish the trademark in all its controlling territories. That means that businesses are now free to officially host “Taco Tuesdays” in every US state besides New Jersey. Furthermore, Taco John’s made a $40,000 donation to the Children of Restaurant Employees fund through the Taco Bell Foundation.

In addition to this Taco Bell announced a wide range of celebrations to mark the historic victory. The restaurant chain is offering a free Doritos Locos Taco every Tuesday between August 15 and September 5 for anyone who wants one. Additionally, the restaurant is planning a special event to mark the newfound freedom of Taco Tuesday. In a partnership with DoorDash, Taco Bell has announced a $5 million “Taco Tab” that will apply to any and all participating vendors on September 12. We hope that LeBron is able to find the time to enjoy some tacos as he continues to attend to the recovery of his son, Bronny.

LeBron James and his family suffered a frightening scare just a few weeks ago. His oldest son Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest while working out with USC. Overall, this came as a massive shock to the sports world. With Bronny only being 18, many were stunned that something like this could happen. However, it has been well-documented in the past that these types of cardiac events can happen to young athletes who are overexerting themselves. Regardless, it was a scary incident that his family is still reeling from.

Of course, Bronny’s health is the family’s main priority right now. With the young man looking to play for USC this year, LeBron James is taking every precaution necessary. This means having a team of doctors look at Bronny to assess what happened and whether or not he can continue playing basketball. Subsequently, the James’ have found themselves in Minnesota, where the world-renowned Mayo Clinic is located. As you can imagine, LeBron and Bronny were there so that the latter could get some potential answers.

According to TMZ, this is one of many places that LeBron and Bronny got to visit while in Minnesota. If there is one thing for certain, however, it is that Bronny is getting the best medical treatment one could hope to receive.

Delonte West Denies LeBron James Rumor

Former NBA player Delonte West has dismissed rumors that he slept with the mother of LeBron James. “I ain’t never sleep with nobody’s momma. I slept with my son’s momma but that’s about it,” West said on the Instagram of “Coach Slim”. Coach Slim posted the video on August 2 with a lengthy caption to go with it. “I Ran Into The Humble, Former NBA Star #delontewest off the late, and I got him out the way for the love I have for people with mental illness But the one thing that I had to ask him, was; DID YOU FUCK @kingjames #mother and that’s with all do respect to you and yours #lebronjames But This Is One Of The Biggest Rumors In NBA History.”

The caption continued. “Because Why Let A Rumor Plague A Man’s Character, When You Can Help A Man With True Talent, That Is Down Bad. I Believe This Man’s Word; Mainly Because He Lost Everything, And Still Haven’t Taken Pride In Laying With Your Mother. Word Of Advice; You Should Slap The Messenger Of Bad News. Because If You Believe In Only One Persons Word, And Never Allowed The Accused To Face The Accuser, YOU DEAD WRONG ,” Slim wrote. Contrary to what Slim says, this is not one of the “biggest rumors in NBA history.” In 2010, sports blogger Terez Owens published a rumor he had been told by a “source”. ”My uncle is the general contractor at the Q and has been for the last seven years. He’s good friends with a lot of guys at the Q, including some of the bigger boys in the organization. And he knows Dan Gilbert personally. My uncle has been told that Delonte has been having interactions with Gloria James (LeBron’s mom) for some time now. Somehow LeBron found out before Game Four and it destroyed their chemistry and divided the team. I am not making this up, I wish it wasn’t true but it happened.”

At the time, West and LeBron played on the Cavaliers together. That season, the Cavs fell in the second round of the playoffs to the Boston Celtics. LeBron would make “The Decision” later that year. He headed to Miami to form the Big Three with Chris Bosch and Dwyane Wade. This rumor was largely ignored or co-opted as a meme and never been seriously considered outside anyone with severe conspiracy theory brain. But I guess, 13 years later, we now know that Delonte West didn’t sleep with LeBron’s mom, Gloria.

Dwight Howard Compares LeBron James And Kobe Bryant’s Teammate Vibes

Dwight Howard played with some of the NBA’s greatest during his 18 years in the league. This included seasons with LeBron and Kobe during Howard’s multiple stints with the Lakers. Howard played with Kobe during the 2012-13 season and with LeBron during the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons.

During a recent appearance on My Expert Opinion, Howard broke down the vibes each legendary player gave off as a teammate. “LeBron almost act like someone from the south side of Georgia,” Howard said. “We act kinda like twins — joking, silly, have a good time. We get on the court, we still gonna have a good time but we’re gonna dominate. Kobe ain’t bullshitting with nobody, he might not come in the locker room and talk, and everybody like, ‘So, he just gonna walk all the way past us, not dap nobody up, give a head nod or nothing? He’s just walked past us,” Howard noted.

However, Howard’s comments weren’t intended as a knock against Kobe. “As I got older, I started to realize more of how he [Kobe] felt,” Howard said. “And as a young ballplayer, you’re not seeing that. You think the game lasts forever. When you get older, you see I ain’t got the same amount of time and energy to put into this, that, and the third. It seemed like we fell out, but it wasn’t really like we fell out, we just had some disagreements on the court, like any other team and any other teammate.”

Despite this, it’s not the first time in recent months that Kobe’s mentality has been brought up. Charles Barkley recently used it to explain why he didn’t think Kobe would have been a good fit for Inside the NBA. “I don’t know if he was built to have fun,” he said. “He was a great person, I liked him, rest in peace. But like, he was a real serious guy. And the problem you have, if you’re gonna do our show, I don’t think people understand, we’re on from seven to two in the morning. Nobody wants to be damn serious from seven to two in the morning, ok?,” Barkley told the New Heights podcast.
