Skip Bayless Urges Teams To Sign Lamar Jackson

Skip Bayless is someone who is definitely known as being a huge hater. Overall, he likes to hate those who are great at what they do. For instance, he has had a long history when it comes to critiquing LeBron James. Although LeBron has never actually addressed Skip, the Undisputed host continues to give his hot takes. Ultimately, Skip’s attitude has earned him quite a number of fans, and double the number of detractors. At this point, however, it should be obvious that Bayless’ job is to be a troll.

Despite his reputation as a hater, there are certainly some athletes that he absolutely loves. One of them is none other than Lamar Jackson. The Ravens quarterback was recently hit with the non-exclusive franchise tag, and there isn’t a single team that is offering a contract. It feels like there is some sort of collusion going on, although it is extremely hard to prove that. Either way, Bayless is dumbfounded by what is going on. In fact, Bayless urged teams throughout the NFL to offer sheet Jackson. In his mind, if anyone can turn a franchise around, it is Lamar.

Skip Bayless Speaks

“Every team that needed a QB or still needs one is a fool for not jumping on an available Lamar,” Bayless said. “He’s a gamer, he’s a leader and would take over the face of a franchise.” The issue with Jackson is certainly not his talent, the real issue lies in his injury history. He has yet to complete a full 17-game season, with playoffs to boot. His style of play lends itself to an increased risk of injury, and it has put him in a precarious spot. However, he is still a phenomenal player and a lot of teams need an upgrade at the quarterback position.

At the time of writing this, it seems like the Ravens and Jackson are at a stalemate. Jackson will have to start the season with them, and at this point, the relationship is definitely a bit fractured. However, this is a great opportunity for him. If he plays the entire season and even wins some playoff games, then maybe they will finally give him that massive contract.

Lamar Jackson Calls Cap On Adam Schefter’s Latest Report

Lamar Jackson is currently going through an unfortunate situation with the Baltimore Ravens. Overall, he is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL. However, he has been with the injury bug over the last two years. As a result, he and the Ravens have been embroiled in a contract dispute. Reports suggest he wants fully-guaranteed money, although the Ravens do not want to give it to him. This is ultimately why they hit him with the non-exclusive franchise tag.

Shockingly, there isn’t a single team that has attempted to sign him thus far. Many are accusing the league of things like collusion. Although, reporters like Adam Schefter see it differently. In fact, during a recent report, Schefter claimed that Jackson was offered $133 million at signing. Moreover, he could have gotten up to $200 million guaranteed based on certain incentives. These are some massive figures, and one would have to wonder why Jackson would turn that down. Especially when you take into consideration that non-exclusive tag only pays him $32 million this year.

Lamar Jackson Responds

Well, as it turns out, Jackson has, in fact, subsequently responded to Schefter and his reporting. Firstly, Jackson posted a gif of a man wearing many hats. Clearly, he is calling out Schefty for some serious cap. Secondly, he wrote “122/3 years full guaranteed, but I need a agent?” Lastly, he simply wrote “People throw sh*t at the wall and hope it stick.” Based on all of these tweets, it seems clear that Jackson does not appreciate this reporting. Although, it should be noted that the truth is muddled right now. It seems like Schefter is getting his information from the Ravens, who have an interest in controlling the narrative. As for Lamar, he has that exact same interest.

This is going to be a very interesting situation to follow over the next year. It seems pretty clear at this point that Jackson will not see an offer sheet this offseason. Instead, he will have to go back to the Ravens who clearly have tested his patience. Hopefully, he gets the contract that he is deserved. Let us know whose side you are on, in the comments down below.

Stephen A. Smith Claims Lamar Jackson Situation Exposes NFL Collusion

Stephen A. Smith has always been a big fan of Lamar Jackson. Overall, there isn’t much to dislike about Jackson. He is a quarterback who can pass the ball well, and he runs better than any other QB we have ever seen. However, he has struggled with injuries, and that is exactly why the Ravens will not offer him a huge contract. Over these past couple of years, the Ravens and Jackson have been in a stalemate as it pertains to contract talks. Consequently, the Ravens hit him with the non-exclusive franchise tag yesterday.

This is a very unique situation as any team can sign Jackson to an offer sheet. Subsequently, the Ravens have to either match the offer and keep Lamar or let him walk for two first-round picks. Shockingly, there isn’t a single team looking to make an offer. Instead, numerous teams without a quarterback have come out and said that they will not pursue the former MVP. This has many screaming “collusion,” and today on First Take, Stephen A. spoke about those allegations.

Stephen A. Talks Collusion

While speaking to Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, Stephen A. made the point that the non-exclusive franchise tag is a clause “built on collusion.” Meaning, it is a great way for teams to teach players a lesson in asking for more money than they are worth. The owners effectively win because they get to keep their best players for low prices. Moreover, the other owners benefit because now, the price for quarterbacks has dropped significantly. For example, if Jackson doesn’t get an offer sheet, he will make $32 million next year, instead of the $40 million that guys like Daniel Jones are getting. It feels like the owners are breaking the rules, although the rules are quite literally drawn up this way.

For Jackson, this is going to be a difficult few weeks. If he remains in Baltimore on this one-year bridge deal, then he will likely have to negotiate a weaker contract for himself. It is the harsh reality of the NFL, and it sucks that Jackson had to be the one to experience this. As for the Ravens, they feel very good about their decision. Ravens Make Huge Lamar Jackson Decision

Lamar Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL. Overall, he has been extremely fun to watch over these past few years. He is a dual threat who can run the ball while also slinging through the air. However, injuries derailed his last two seasons when he was seemingly on track to become MVP of the league. Unfortunately, the Baltimore Ravens have been using these injuries against him. This is because, since last year, Jackson has been trying to secure a long-term deal with fully guaranteed money.

In the eyes of the Ravens, Jackson is not worth a fully guaranteed deal. Although, they do believe he should be paid like the best quarterback in the league. Regardless, this discrepancy has created a huge rift between Jackson and the front office. Today, the Ravens needed to reach a deal with Jackson, otherwise, their only option would be to franchise tag him. Ultimately, that is exactly what they did, although they used the non-exclusive tag. General Managers Eric DeCosta subsequently issued a statement claiming that they are committed to finding a solution with Lamar.

Lamar Jackson Franchise Tag

“Having not yet reached a long-term deal with Lamar Jackson, we will use the franchise tag,” DeCosta wrote. “There have been many instances across the league and in Baltimore when a player has been designated with the franchise tag and signed a long-term deal that same year. We will continue to negotiate in good faith with Lamar, and we are hopeful that we can strike a long-term deal that is fair to both Lamar and the Ravens. Our ultimate goal is to build a championship team with Lamar Jackson leading the way for many years to come.”

Now, Jackson can negotiate deals with other teams. From there, if Jackson signs an offer sheet, the Ravens can either match the deal or give Jackson up for two first-round picks. At this point, it seems like keeping Jackson is the best option, but you truly never know. Let us know what you think is going to happen, in the comments below. Mark Andrews Says Lamar Jackson Is A “Raven For Life”

Mark Andrews says that Lamar Jackson is a “Raven for life,” among an ongoing contract dispute between the star quarterback and the organization that drafted him in 2018. The star tight end addressed the team’s quarterback situation during an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio. Recent reports have suggested that the Ravens intend on placing the franchise tag on Jackson.

“Obviously I hope that we get my guy Lamar Jackson back,” Andrews said. “You know ‘cuz he’s a Raven for life.” He further continued: “If there’s one thing I know, I know that he wants to be a Raven. And I know the Ravens organization want him. And so he’s our quarterback. I’m hopeful they’re going to be able to get that deal done and he’s going to be my quarterback.”

Andrews wasn’t the only one of Jackson’s teammates to address his contract situation. Linebacker Roquan Smith also spoke about Jackson’s future during an interview at the Pro Bowl. Smith joined the team prior to the trade deadline in 2022.

“I haven’t really chatted with him about anything,” Smith said, via NFL.com. “Cause all our situations are unique in their own way. It would be wrong of me to try to go in and say this or that, because his situation is clearly different than mine, so I can’t really go in there and say you should do this or that. He’s a grown man at the end of the day, and he’s gonna do what he feels is best for him and I support him just from one man to another.”

As for Jackson himself, he has not publicly expressed any desire to leave Baltimore. If the Ravens do franchise tag on him for 2023, it will cost them about $45 million. It would also give them until July to reach an agreement on a longer-term deal. Jackson reportedly previously turned down a five-year contract extension worth $250 million, with $133 million guaranteed at signing.

Ravens’ Rumored Plan For Lamar Jackson Revealed

Lamar Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL. Unfortunately, however, he has had to deal with some serious injury issues. Ultimately, a knee injury kept him out of the team’s Wild Card game on Sunday. Consequently, the team lost by just a touchdown. Had Jackson been there, it could have been a different story.

Of course, Jackson is currently dealing with a contract dispute. The Ravens superstar wanted more guaranteed money than the Ravens were willing to spend. Now, heading into the offseason, the Ravens have a dilemma on their hands. Effectively, they need to make some big decisions in regard to Jackson.

Lamar Jackson Franchise Tag

Subsequently, there is a ton of reporting being done in regard to Jackson. For instance, Ian Rapoport was on Good Morning Football this morning where he spoke about the Ravens’ plans. Overall, the Ravens want to keep Jackson and will offer him a long-term deal.

However, if Jackson doesn’t like the guaranteed money aspect, there is a good chance that he will decline. From there, the Ravens will just hit him with the franchise tag, as they would rather not lose him.

In a report from Peter King, however, it was noted that the Ravens could use a different kind of franchise tag. This tag would allow other teams to offer Jackson a deal. From there, the Ravens can either match it, or let him walk for some draft compensation.

Per Peter King:

I think it’s going to be hard for Jackson to get a long-term contract without significant protection for the team. Which means, to me, a significant likelihood that the Ravens may use the non-exclusive franchise tag for Jackson. If he agrees to a contract with another team, the Ravens could match it or be awarded two first-round picks (or a different deal the two teams could negotiate) if the Ravens do not match it.

Based on these reports, it is clear that the Ravens know they need Jackson. Whether or not they will throw the proper money at him, remains to be seen.

Skip Bayless Explains Why Lamar Jackson Quit On Ravens

Skip Bayless has had a busy few weeks. Between insulting Shannon Sharpe and disrespecting Damar Hamlin, Bayless is not very popular right now. However, he is still very much employed by Fox Sports, and that is definitely not going to change anytime soon.

Whether you love him or hate him, it is clear that Skip is very entertaining. Overall, one could even liken what he does to performance art. He is always putting on a persona, and it is ultimately what has kept him so popular, for better or for worse.

Skip Bayless on Lamar Jackson

Today, Skip and Shannon spoke about the Lamar Jackson situation. Jackson is injured and will not play for the Ravens this weekend during their Wild Card game against the Bengals. Consequently, Bayless believes Lamar is actually giving up on the Ravens. However, he is only doing so as the Ravens gave up on him first.

“If Lamar wanted to play for his team this weekend, he would. If he had been paid, he’d be out there. He quit on them because they quit on him,” Skip said. “Lamar Jackson wouldn’t think twice about playing vs the Bengals on Sunday if he had been paid. It’s all about the contract.”

Sharpe echoed these sentiments as he said “two things that help injuries the most: ice and money.” Needless to say, both Undisputed hosts are firm on the idea that had Jackson been paid properly, he would be on the field right now.

Jackson himself has stated that his injury is pretty bad and that he wishes he could play. Overall, it has not been a great couple of seasons for Jackson who has consistently gotten injured toward the end.

Lamar Jackson Admits Chiefs Are His 'Kryptonite'

Lamar Jackson will not play in the Baltimore Ravens wild card playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hitting social media, Jackson stated he wants to be there for his team, but his left knee will not allow him to do so.

Jackson is suffering from a Grade 2 PCL strain that is “on the borderline of strain 3.”

“Thank you everyone for your support and concerns regarding my injuries,” Jackson wrote. “I want to give you all an update as I am in the recovery process. I’ve suffered a PCL grade 2 sprain on the borderline of a strain 3. There is still inflammation surrounding my knee and my knee remains unstable.”

He adds, ” I’m still in good spirits, as I continue with treatments on the road to recovery. I wish I could be out there with my guys more than anything but I can’t give a 100% of myself to my guys and fans I’m still hopeful we still have a chance.”

The Ravens will turn to Tyler Huntley or Anthony Brown at quarterback, a tandem they have used through the last half of the season.

This season is the last of Lamar Jackson’s rookie contract. If the franchise tag is not used on him this offseason, he will become free agents.

Stephen A. Smith Urges Ravens To Do This With Lamar Jackson

Stephen A. Smith is easily one of the most recognizable faces on sports talk television. He always comes through with the hot takes, and he does so in an entertaining fashion. Overall, he is largely responsible for carrying ESPN’s programming over these last few years.

There have been plenty of hot topics in the sports world as of late. This is especially true now that the NFL playoffs are on the horizon. In fact, one team people are looking at is the Baltimore Ravens who are going up against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, they are going to be without Lamar Jackson, and Smith had some thoughts on this.

Stephen A. Speaks

Stephen A. has always had some very strong opinions about Lamar Jackson. Simply put, he loves the Ravens quarterback. However, he believes the Ravens should just straight-up trade him. With their contract dispute in mind, Smith believes it would just be simpler for the Ravens to get rid of their QB.

“Let me be clear. Lamar Jackson is an electrifying talent that I want on my team any day of the week,” Smith began. “If you’re the Baltimore Ravens, clearly there is difficulty in getting him inked to a long-term deal. […] I would strongly look into what assets I could get for Lamar Jackson. Because I could get the house for this brother.”

A Lamar Jackson trade would be wild for numerous reasons. There is no doubt that the haul the Ravens would receive would be incredible. Although, it still remains to be seen what will happen here.

Lamar Jackson & The Ravens Get Bad News

Lamar Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL when he is healthy. He has a dynamic skill set that even won him MVP of the league a few years ago. Unfortunately, he has yet to have the playoff success one would expect of a superstar.

Additionally, Jackson is now dealing with contract issues that put his future in Baltimore, in jeopardy. Now, however, Jackson is dealing with yet another injury that has ultimately kept him out of the Ravens’ lineup. With the playoffs just a few days away, fans were hoping he would be able to come back.

Lamar Jackson Sidelined Again

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jackson missed practice again on Wednesday. Consequently, it is very likely that he will not be able to play this weekend against the Bengals. This is absolutely devastating for the Ravens’ chances, especially with Tyler Huntley missing time as well.

The Bengals have become one of the best teams in the league over the past few weeks. Having said that, the Ravens are going to need a miracle to come out on top here. If you’re a fan of the team, then this Jackson news is truly devastating stuff.

With Jackson going through these injury issues, the Ravens front office will have even less incentive to sign him to guaranteed money. Overall, it is just a bad situation for both parties. Quite frankly, it would not be surprising to see some sort of divorce in the offseason. There are certainly a few teams out there who could use someone like Jackson.

Hopefully, Jackson is able to turn things around and have the career he has the potential to enjoy. In the meantime, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest news from around the sports world.
