Doja Cat Hints At SZA Collab Coming Tonight

Another Doja Cat and SZA collab? Sign us up! The artist just had a very cryptic conversation on Twitter that seems to be hinting at a new song. The two last collaborated on “Kiss Me More,” a single from Doja’s 2021 album Planet Her. The song was a smash on radio and streaming, and it is now 5x Platinum. The pair even won a Grammy for Best Pop Duo Performance for the song. It was the first Grammy for both Doja and SZA. After such a successful first collab, it isn’t a surprise that the two would want to do it again. It seems like they aren’t going to be making fans wait either. It seems like something is coming tonight at 9 PM PST.

The very short interaction between Doja and SZA on Twitter immediately sent fans into hysterics, particularly in Doja’s case. Her fans have been waiting quite a long time for new music. Not much was said or hinted at in the conversation, however. “Sis… I did something bad,” Doja tweeted at SZA. Very soon after, SZA replied, “Jesus… what is it?” Doja replied once more, but she simply said “4.13.23 9 PM.” Doja has kept pretty tight-lipped about any real details about her new music. So, the fact that something might be coming this soon was quite a surprise to fans.

Doja’s Odd Online Behavior Continues

A few days ago, Doja Cat lost her blue tick on Twitter. Her online antics have been the subject of criticism from all sides, even her fans. Still, Doja seems to remain unbothered, frequently tweeting things that seem altogether nonsensical or flat-out offensive. However, taking one look at her Twitter feed will tell you all you need to know about why she is acting the way she does. “This illuminati sh*t is so funny to me,” Doja tweeted. “I’m gonna keep doing deliberate weird ass shit just to make those people uncomfortable. I’ve fr found a new outlet of joy.”

Doja also responded to losing her verification with a bit of anger. “Having a blue tick now means theres a higher chance that you’re a complete loser and that you’re desperate for validation from famous people,” she tweeted. Prior to this, fans had poked fun at the singer for no longer being verified. Still, it looks like none of the online weirdness is stopping her from pushing ahead with her music. What do you think of the possibility of a new collab between Doja and SZA? Let us know in the comments!

Doja Cat’s Sprint From The Bathroom To The Grammy Stage After Nearly Missing Her Award Was Caught On Camera

Doja Cat’s streak of successful moments continued over the weekend thanks to the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. It was here that she, along with SZA, won the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award for their 2021 collaboration “Kiss Me More.” The track appeared on Doja’s third album Planet Her, which she released last year. The song did well on the charts as it peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has also won Collaboration of the Year at the AMAs and Best Collaboration at the MTV VMAs. Doja was pushed to tears after learning she won her first Grammy, but that’s not all that happened at that moment.

During her acceptance speech, Doja revealed that she had to sprint from the bathroom in order to make it to the stage. Thanks to a video that was provided by someone in attendance at the Grammys, you can see Doja begin her sprint to the stage after hearing her name. Granted, her sprint was more of a shuffle as a result of her dress and heels, but she still made it to the stage in time to give a raw, emotional, and truly-Doja speech.

“I like to downplay sh*t, but this?” Doja said while fighting back tears. “It’s a big deal. Thank you, everybody.” She also made sure to shower SZA with praise. “SZA, you are everything to me,” Doja said. “You are the epitome of talent. You’re a lyricist. You’re everything.”

You can watch Doja’s run in the video above.

Doja Cat Almost Missed Her Grammy Win Because She Was Peeing, And Cried During Her Acceptance Speech

Doja Cat has been through it since she broke out in the music industry, with strange rumors and bad faith accusations following her even as she rose to the top. The release of her album, Planet Her, cemented her weirdo status, but also moved Doja even more into the mainstream. In fact, sometimes it feels like the mainstream moves with her. Nothing illustrates that better than one of the album’s early singles, a collaboration between SZA and Doja called “Kiss Me More” that has stuck around for months.

Tonight, the Grammys honored the song further with a victory in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, but Doja was so sure she wasn’t in the running that she opted to go to the bathroom right before the honor was announced. SZA made her way up to the stage rather slowly due to her crutches, with Lady Gaga thankfully helping her out with the long gauze train of her dress, and Solana had to kill time for a few moments while Doja made her way out of the bathroom and up onstage. “I’ve never p*ssed so quickly,” Doja blurted, before praising her collaborator, giving SZA a chance to speak, and then tearfully returning to the mic to let the Recording Academy know just how much the award really meant to her.

Lately, Doja has been threatening to retire from the industry all together… hopefully this changes her mind. For good. Check out the whole drama above.

Watch Doja Cat And SZA’s Retro-Futurist Performance Of ‘Kiss Me More’ At The Billboard Music Awards

Ever since SZA teased her upcoming collaboration with Doja Cat in their interview for V Magazine — where the TDE star also praised Doja’s entire ethos — fans were eagerly awaiting the joint track. When “Kiss Me More” arrived, it was a little different than what we were expecting, an upbeat, jittery track with the girls taking turns on the verses, but it’s been slowly gaining momentum since April, and tonight the pair teamed up for their first live performance of the song at the Billboard Music Awards. The song has been holding steady at No. 5 on the Billboard chart, and tonight’s performance helped prove why — the pair managed to turn the song into a retro-futurist spectacle that was equal parts ’70s throwback and intergalactic vibes.

Doja kicked things off with fringe-y, orb-filled outfit surrounded by dancers, only to have SZA appear just in time for her own verse, rocking bright yellow hair and eventually joining Doja at the front of the stage to end the song with a final dramatic dip. The song is likely going to be on Doja’s long-rumored new album, Planet Her, but who knows… SZA also has a record on the way soon. Check out their performance above.

Doja Cat And SZA’s Bubbly ‘Kiss Me More’ Track Is Perfect For The Upcoming Summer

Doja Cat’s popularity and stardom has increased over the past year and some change thanks to the massive success that was rooted in her sophomore album, Hot Pink. The project delivered successful records that included “Say So” and “Streets” and helped the full-length effort endure as run that lasted almost two years. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and it seems like Doja ready to move on to the next chapter in her career, with her upcoming third album, Planet Her, which she previously confirmed was complete. The campaign for the upcoming project now begins with “Kiss Me More” collaboration with SZA.

The new song is definitely one that will fit onto the soundtrack for the impending summer. Packed by bubbly production and high-spirited verses from Doja and SZA, the song finds the ladies flaunting their physical attributes to the men that surround them. It also arrived with a music video that features an astronaut who lands on foreign all to discover Doja Cat and SZA as the majestic beauties that seem to call that area home.

The song should spark what would be an impressive run towards the release of Planet Her, which was confirmed for a summer 2021 arrival in a press release. During a sit down with Fat Joe last September, Doja shared an update on album. “It’s all ready. I hate that I’m holding onto it right now,” she said. “I see everybody’s like, ‘Put it out’ … You have to plan things accordingly and there’s a lot going on.” She also shared a list of potential guest features from included The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, French Montana, Megan Thee Stallion, ASAP Ferg, Saweetie, and Young Thug.
