Billie Eilish And Kendrick Lamar Will Headline Lollapalooza’s Massive 2023 Lineup

Lollapalooza is returning to Grant Park in Chicago on August 3-6, and as usual, the lineup is a sprawling collection of the biggest names in music. This year’s headliners include Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Odesza, Lana Del Rey, Karol G, The 1975, and Tomorrow X Together. The presale begins on March 23 (Thursday) at 10 am CT. A wider sale is planned to follow. You can get more information at http://lollapalooza.com.

Uproxx’s Carolyn Droke called the 2022 edition of the long-running festival “a big city music festival done right,” calling attention to the diversity of genres and its “outstanding performances accompanied by breathtaking city skyline views.” This year’s fest is likely to stick to that tradition thanks to the inclusion of veteran performers like Fred Again…, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Carly Rae Jepsen, Diplo, Rina Sawayama, and the genre-bending Lil Yachty. There’s that diversity again. You can see a complete list of the performers for Lollapalooza 2023 below.

Lollapalooza is rapidly approaching its 20th anniversary, making it one of the longest-running big festivals in the world. While it has expanded to include events in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paris, and Sweden, the main festival in Chicago remains the biggest draw, with the 2022 festival bringing in nearly 400,000 concertgoers to Grant Park.

Karol G And Romeo Santos Have A Hold On Each Other With Their New Collab, ‘X Si Volvemos’

Karol G has shared her hotly-anticipated new collaboration with Romeo Santos. On their new single, “X Si Volvemos,” the two have no regrets about parting ways, however, with their unmatched sexual chemistry, they can’t resist coming back to each other.

“Con eso nos vamos / pero antes de irnos / Vamos hacerlo por última vez, bebé / Que en el amor no, pero en la cama nos entendemos,” each of the two sing, which, in English, translates to, “With that we’re leaving, but before we go / Let’s do it one last time, baby / In love we don’t understand each other / but we do in bed.”

“X Si Volvemos” features production by Karol’s frequent collaborator, Ovy On The Drums, who has produced several of her tracks, including her Nicki Minaj collaboration, “Tusa, ” her Becky G duet, “Mamiii,” and the breezy, romantic track, “Cairo.”

The song is set to appear on Karol’s upcoming fourth studio album, Mañana Será Bonito, which, as she teased on social media, is arriving “soon.”

According to a press release, Mañana Será Bonito, which translates to Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful, was inspired by “a difficult and intimate time in [Karol G’s] life” and named after “a mantra she would tell herself when things weren’t going so well.”

While we wait for what’s sure to be an incredible album, you can check out “X Si Volvemos” above.

Karol G Shared A Sweet Moment With Young Miko During Her Performance At Calibash In LA

Karol G proved to be the top female Latin artist of 2022 on the streaming and touring front. At last night’s Calibash concert in Los Angeles, she used her platform to highlight another Latina artist on the rise: Young Miko.

Calibash was a two-day Latin concert that took place at the Crypto.com Arena. Karol G headlined Sunday night. The line-up also included Becky G, Feid, Sech, Blessd, and Farruko. Puerto Rican duo Zion y Lennox dropped out of the event after their flight couldn’t make it to LA on time.

During her set, Karol G took a moment to cheers with the audience. She raised her cup to Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko who was in the audience. Karol G called Young Miko to the stage to cheers with. She also sang a bit of Young Miko’s song “Putero.”

“There are new artists constantly that one goes crazy over, and tonight, there is one in the crowd called Young Miko,” Karol G said in Spanish. “She’s from Puerto Rico! My second home. Invite me on a song so we can kill it together.”

Since the release of her debut EP Trap Kitty last year, Young Miko has emerged as a strong female and queer voice in the Latin trap scene. She freely raps about her bisexual identity in her sassy songs like “Bi” and “Riri.” During his homecoming concerts in Puerto Rico last July, Bad Bunny invited Young Miko to the stage to perform “Riri.”

Bad Bunny Owned The 2022 ‘Billboard’ Latin Music Awards With The Most Wins Of The Night

Bad Bunny was the big winner last night (September 29) at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. The Puerto Rican superstar won the most awards of the night followed by Farruko and Karol G.

Bad Bunny was the most-nominated artist at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards. He received 23 nominations across 13 categories for his chart-topping album Un Verano Sin Ti. Though he wasn’t in attendance last night, he ended up winning nine awards, including Artist Of The Year, Tour Of The Year, and Top Latin Album Of The Year.

Puerto Rican singer Farruko followed Bad Bunny with four wins. He scored a big hit last year with the guaracha-infused “Pepas.” Farruko’s wins included Hot Latin Song Of The Year and Sales Song Of The Year. Colombian superstar Karol G won three awards, including Hot Latin Songs Artist Of The Year — Female and Top Latin Albums Artist Of the Year — Female.

Among the memorable performances, Colombian singer Manuel Turizo sang his global top 10 hit “La Bachata.” Earlier this month, Coldplay invited him to sing the song at their concert in Bogotá, Colombia. Turizo serenaded the audience with a sweet performance of his heartbreak anthem.

After being honored with the Spirit Of Hope Award for her philanthropic work, Christina Aguilera sang her ranchera ballad “La Reina” for the first time. She sounded incredible as she tapped into the song’s empowering message that a king isn’t a king without his queen. The performance comes on the heels of her new EP La Luz dropping today with the song “No Es Que Te Extrañe” that might be about her estranged father.

The most unique performance of the night belonged to Puerto Rican singer Elvis Crespo. Bad Bunny pulled inspiration from Crespo’s music video for “Suavemente” for his own retro video for “Neverita.” Crespo paid homage to Bad Bunny by performing “Neverita” in a special medley with “Suavemente.”

Coldplay is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Karol G And Plan B’s Maldy Dance The Night Away In The Sensual ‘Gatúbela’ Video

Karol G and Maldy, one half of the duo Plan B, are here with the sensual video for “Gatúbela.” The record, which translates to “catwoman,” is a vibrant reggaeton record fit for any lengthy summer function. Whether dancing alone or with a partner, there’s an undeniable urge to move your hips once the beat drops.

The video matches that energy, with incessant scenes of couples grinding on one another or women twerking by their lonesome. Many men are shirtless, exposing glistening abs and the “Don’t Be Shy” artist makes sure to share the wealth with a few of them. Maldy opts for a more calm approach to the dance floor, but he is definitely enjoying the ambiance.

The video closes with a man showing scratch marks on his obliques, followed by a transition to a scene where Karol G is running away from something. She finally ends up on a beach covered in blood, and the video finally ends by showing a number of cats walking on a patio.

This video is also the debut of Karol G’s fiery red hair, ushering in a new era of her career in addition to the 2022 single “Provenza.”
