Jingle Ball Taps Nicki Minaj, SZA, And Many More

SZA is coming off of yet another impressive chart achievement in a year packed full of commercial successes. She teamed up with Drake for a new single “Slime You Out” which rocketed up the charts. It debuted at the very top spot on the Hot 100, marking Drake’s 12th number one. But it was also a big accomplishment for SZA who became the first artist to top the chart twice this year following her song “Kill Bill” reaching number one back in March.

By the time Jingle Ball is underway, Nicki Minaj fans will have their hands on her new album. Pink Friday 2 is due to arrive on November 17th marking Nicki’s first new studio album in 5 years. Her last project Queen dropped to massive fan acclaim back in 2018. What do you think of the lineup for this year’s Jingle Ball festivals? Let us know in the comment section below.

iHeartRadio Canceled The Last Stop On The Jingle Ball Tour Due To Covid-19

If you thought we were out of the woods with the Covid-19 pandemic think again. The spread of a new variant called Omicron has already set back SNL‘s episode last night to a handful of cast members, and even led to the cancelation of Charli XCX’s performance on the show. Now, it’s led to another cancelation — the final stop on the Jingle Bell tour, which was slated to take place in Miami tonight. The tour has been marred by a handful of other cancellations by artists like Doja Cat, who faced exposures to the virus and needed to take the precaution.

But cases are so high as of this weekend that the radio station isn’t taking any risks and has put the kibosh on the whole tour, which was slated to include performances from Saweetie, Black Eyed Peas, AJR, Tate McRae, Monsta X, Bazzi, Anitta, and Dixie D’Amelio. “Due to the increased transmission of the new Covid-19 variant and to further minimize any potential risks, as a precautionary measure and for the safety of our staff, talent and guests, we have made the decision to cancel tonight’s iHeartRadio Y100 Jingle Ball,” iHeart said in a statement. “Thank you for your understanding. Ticket holders will receive a refund within 48 hours and if the have any issues, they should reach out to their point of purchase.”

Doja Cat Had To Cancel Some Jingle Ball Performances After Testing Positive For Covid-19

Looks like Doja Cat will be spending at least some of her holiday in quarantine. Although she was slated to appear for some Jingle Ball performances during the annual iHeartRadio Christmas tour this December, the rapper-pop-star had to disappoint fans when she tested positive for coronavirus. Doja has been performing behind her new album, Planet Her at various award shows this year, like the VMAs, but has yet to announce a full tour. Probably a good thing considering she now has to cancel some slated appearances.

“As most of you probably heard earlier, a few members on my production team tested positive for Covid-19 and I had to cancel a couple of my upcoming performances as a safety precaution,” she wrote on Twitter. “Unfortunately, I’m sad to share that I just tested positive as well and will no longer be able to perform on the rest of the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour. While my spirits are down since I can’t be there to celebrate the holiday with my fans in Philly, DC, Atlanta and Miami, I’m doing ok and look forward to recovering and getting back out there as soon as I can! The rest of the tour stops have some really great lineups, wish I could be there. Much love xo.”

Get well soon Doja! And everyone else, please remember to wear masks and social distance, we’re not out of the woods yet.
