Chris Pratt Reveals He’s Open to Returning as ‘Starlord’ if Marvel Finds the Right Story

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters this weekend. The third edition of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series will be the last go for stars Zoe Saldaña and Dave Bautista, but headlining star Chris Pratt says he is down for more work as Starlord.

In conversation with Total Film magazine, Pratt revealed he would keep the run going as long as Marvel sticks to the vision of James Gunn.

“He’s [Gunn] done such a masterful job in the first three films,” Pratt said. “We really found the voice of Peter Quill together and without him, obviously, I would never have had this opportunity. He writes it, he directs it, he dreams up the music, it’s his imagination on screen. So, to continue to tell the story, it would really be important to honor what he’s done in the first three films and to honor what the fans have grown to love about the character and not simply do it because people might show up to pay for it, you know?”

Preparing for the next big installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, director James Gunn went all out – creating over 600 versions of the fim for theaters.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn created many versions of the film to fit every type of movie theater configuration.

“It’s definitely the most complex delivery Marvel’s ever done,” Disney’s VP of finishing and stereo Evan Jacobs said. The mutlple versions “give every exhibitor in the United States and in most international territories [the ability to] maximize their screen size for the audience. So wherever you go to see it, you’re gonna see the best version.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn created many versions of the film to fit every type of movie theater configuration.

James Gunn Shoots Down George Clooney’s Rumored Return As Batman: “Absolutely Not”

DC Studios boss James Gunn says that George Clooney is “absolutely not” going to be the DCU’s new main Batman. Clooney previously served in the role for the 1997 film, Batman & Robin. Instead, Gunn says that they are going with a “new actor” for the caped crusader. Gunn addressed the rumors of Clooney’s role reprisal in a pair of tweets posted on Saturday night.

Rumors of Clooney’s return came when entertainment insider Grace Randolph published the theory on Twitter, earlier this week. “I hear that it’s going to be a former Batman who cameos at the end of The Flash & could potentially stick around as the new permanent DCU Batman. Damian’s Dad, Pattinson is still solo. I know who it is; but it would be uncool to reveal the whole thing,” Randolph wrote.

Further, Batman-on-Film’s founder Bill “Jett” Ramey addressed the next Batman while responding to fan questions. He explained that he’s confident DC will be going for an “older” take on Batman. The theory further gave fuel to the fire of Clooney’s rumored casting. “I think they are going for an older take on Batman — older than he was in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ (pushing 40) and ‘Batman v Superman’ (pushing 50). Late 50s is my guess,” Ramey recently said. “Why? Because they want to have a very different version of Batman in the DCU than the one in Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ films as played by Robert Pattinson. And since the Batman Family already exists, Bruce is obviously going to be older — which is fine by me.”

The rumors come after Gunn recently confirmed that Robert Pattinson will not portray the Batman of the DCU, despite starring in The Batman. His take on the character will be exclusive to that series. The Batman Part II is scheduled to open in theaters on October 3, 2025.

David Zaslav, the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, appointed Gunn and Peter Safran as the co-chairpersons and CEOs of DC Films, rebranded as “DC Studios.” Together, they oversee films, animation, and television projects based on characters from DC Comics.

James Gunn says that Ezra Miller’s upcoming movie, The Flash, is “one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.” Additionally, his DC co-head, Peter Safran, says that the studio is “fully supportive” of Miller’s recovery. The two addressed the status of the film after the recent DC Universe slate presentation at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California.

“Ezra is completely committed to their recovery,” Safran said during the presentation. “We are fully supportive of that journey that they’re on right now. When the time is right, when they feel like they’re ready to have the discussion, we’ll all figure out what the best path forward is. But right now, they are completely focused on their recovery, and after our conversations with them over the last couple of months, it feels like they’re making enormous progress.”

Gunn added: “I also think it’s important to point out that thousands of people worked on The Flash. These people dedicated the past few years of their lives to making something really special. Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, Christina Hodson, Michael Keaton and all of the other people that you know. To start making it as if a movie depends on this one person can be frustrating as a filmmaker.”

Miller has been making headlines for numerous erratic social media rants, arrests, and court appearances over the last many months. They’ve been accused of throwing a chair at a woman, grooming minors, and more. Regardless, the film is still scheduled to hit theaters on June 16.
