Doc Rivers Weighs In On Banning The Charge

Doc Rivers has seen a lot of basketball. Rivers has played the game and coached the game at the highest level. Now, the Sixers headman is being asked about one of the more debated rules of the game. The act of a charge has changed a lot in just the last decade. What is or isn’t a charge seems to be a topic of debate during every game. Recently, fans have seen top stars injured in attempts to avoid a charge. On Monday, social media was in a frenzy over some calling for the charge to no longer be a rule.

Rivers was asked his stance on the league no longer calling charges. “No, not at all, unless they just want a 250-250 game… I think the only thing there is some of the charges people take can be viewed as reckless. And so they can review that. They can’t take it away, but they can call it what it is, it’s reckless. If it’s a reckless play it should be a flagrant. But none of those I think were reckless, it’s just Ja Morant can jump over a human being, and he tried to do it. That’s part of it.”

Doc Rivers Favors The Charge

Rivers makes a great point on what the charge is and its need in the league. Without the charge, players will be even more reckless when heading to the rack. Athletes are a different breed than when the rules of basketball were created. However, the charge can still be a necessary rule when used correctly. Rivers mentioned that charges could be reckless. Especially if a player is attempting to undercut another. But just as Rivers stated, a play like that should be up for potential review.

Don’t look for the charge to be going anywhere soon. Unless the league does truly want teams scoring nearly 300 points. Which actually may sound like a good idea to the league. The NBA has become an offensive showcase. But ending the charge could turn it into players having video game-like performances. Where do you stand with the charge? Do you agree with Doc Rivers that it needs to be in the game? Or do you believe the charge should become extinct? Sound off in our comment section with your thoughts. Ja Morant Sues Teenager He Allegedly Fought During a Pickup Game at His House

Ja Morant Speaks at Practice: 'I Never Had an Alcohol Problem'

Ja Morant is getting ready for his run into the NBA Finals. Ahead of his matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers, Morant has countersued the teenager who claims assault at his home.

The Memphis Grizzlies point guard is suspected of beating up and pointing a gun at a 17-year-old following a basketball game at his house in July 2022, according to a police report obtained by the Washington Post.

Morant allegedly hit the teenager after he threw a ball back at Morant. The ball slipped through and hit Morant in the chin. The teenager said that Morant asked one of his friends if “Do I do it to him?” to which his friend replied “Yeah. Do it.” That moment was followed by a punch in the jaw and an assault by Morant’s friends.

“I fell to the ground, trying to cover my face, so I wouldn’t get hit in the face. I got, started getting hit, punched in my head, everything else. … Ja hit me like 12 to 13 times.”

The teenager said that Ja went back into his house and came out with a gun in his waistband, and while he did not pull the gun out, he put his hand on it. Morant’s dad apparently came outside and yelled at him to get back inside the house.

The victim’s mother filed a police report and took him to the hospital.

According to The Daily Memphian, Morant filed documents stating he was a victim of slander, battery, and assault by the hands of the teenager. Morant states his career could have been ended by the basketball thrown at his face.

Ja Morant Sues Accuser

Ja Morant will be taking legal action against the accuser, alleging assault against him. Morant was accused of assault by a high school student last summer. The student claims Morant assaulted him over an argument that broke out during a pick-up game of basketball. Morant now claims that the student is lying about what really happened during the alleged confrontation. The Grizzlies star is now claiming he was the victim of being threatened during the incident.

In court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, “Morant acknowledged getting into a tiff with H.S. basketball star Joshua Holloway during the July 26 game at his home in Memphis, but says Holloway was the aggressor in the situation.” Morant also claims that Holloway threatened him with an act of gun violence. Including that others at the scene also heard this alleged threat. This past year Morant has been in the news for a couple of unsettling headlines. The star guard has had his life thrown into the public eye.

Ja Morant Seeking Truth In Assault Case

Earlier this year, Morant was suspended by the NBA after the Memphis star shared a photo of himself brandishing a gun at an adult entertainment establishment. Morant was seen holding the weapon in a since-deleted Instagram story. Following that incident, photos were released showing Morant’s appearance inside the Denver nightclub. In the time after the incident, Morant has discussed how he is trying to change the way he conducts his life off the court. Morant has even taken part in public interviews to discuss his image and the understanding of his actions off the court.

Morant doesn’t want to be remembered as someone whose off-the-court troubles plagued his career. However, it seems Morant’s alleged assault issues are from over. But Morant will have a lot on his plate during this time. As the Grizzlies will begin their playoff season this weekend with the Los Angeles Lakers. The truth will soon be released on the incident regarding Ja Morant last summer. But for now, the story is far from over. Ja Morant Victim Tells His Story In Police Body Cam

Ja Morant’s victim has finally had their story told. The body cam footage of the 17-year-old has been released. The video shows the teenager explaining to an officer just what happened between him and Morant. According to the victim, the issue began during a pick-up game of basketball. The victim claims that Morant got in his face and struck him shortly after. After the strike, that is when the victim claims Morant and his friends just began beating him.

This isn’t the only legal issue Morant has had to battle this calendar year. Earlier this year, Morant posted a photo of himself brandishing a weapon inside an adult entertainment club. Morant made the post on his public Instagram stories. Which was quickly deleted. The Grizzlies star was soon suspended shortly after for his actions from the weapon incident. After the weapon incident, Morant did a sit-down interview with Jalen Rose. In the interview, fans saw a vulnerable Morant speak on his recent activity. Since then, Morant has stayed rather quiet in a chance to rebuild his image to the media.

Morant’s actions off the court have stirred up many to take a stance. Many believe his multiple troubles should have resulted in more action being taken by the league. Although his issues off the court are serious, Morant hasn’t dipped in his performance on the court. The Grizzlies earned the second seed in the Western Conference. The team will face the winner of the 7-8 matchup in the play-in tournament. The participants in that game will be the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves.

After the release of this footage, it seems Ja Morant has a long road ahead. While there could be more to the story. Striking a minor is never okay and shouldn’t be tolerated. The NBA will definitely look into this new information that has been dropped to the public. Consequently, Morant’s involvement in this year’s playoffs could even be in jeopardy. Angel Reese And Ja Morant Link Up To Create Viral Video

Angel Reese is currently the biggest name in all of basketball. The LSU star is now making the media rounds after the Tigers’ National Championship victory. However, her play on the floor hasn’t been the only topic of discussion. Reese was vilified by some in the media for her in-game trash-talk directed at Caitlin Clark. Clark, who is a known trash talker herself, came to the defense of Reese’s actions. Now that the trash-talking debacle is behind everyone, Reese can finally celebrate her championship in peace.

The Women’s Final Four MVP is getting the opportunity to meet all the stars. On Wednesday, Reece tweeted a video of her and Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant. The pair were giving their best attempt at dancing for the camera. A moment that was shared in laughter by the two basketball stars. Both Reese and Morant are stars of the basketball world. Morant is currently in pursuit of his first NBA ring. While Reese is enjoying the spoils that come with being a champion.

Angel Reese Comments On Hilarious Video With Morant

Morant was one of the many stars that came to the defense of Reese over her in-game celebrations. While the likes of Keith Olbermann vehemently disagreed with her actions on the court. Olbermann has since apologized for his reaction on the topic. Stating that he wasn’t fully aware of the situation. No matter, the NCCA Women’s Tournament was a huge success for the sport. Women’s basketball took over all the talking points of the weekend. Even as the Men’s Final Four was taking place.

It was an important weekend for Angel Reese and women’s sports. This season’s tournament will be forever remembered for the celebrations. However, the play on the court shouldn’t be forgotten. LSU, South Carolina, Iowa, and Louisville should all remember what they accomplished this season. In addition, for the first time, women’s athletics are starting to be noticed by the masses. It has been a long road for the sport. Needless to say, the women should soak up the moment. They have long earned this celebration. For the latest on women’s sports, stay locked in with HNHH.

Ja Morant has been nothing short of impressive as of late when it comes to his sneaker output, namely the Nike Ja 1. Overall, this is a shoe that has impressed both hoopers and sneakerheads. Firstly, you will realize that this model has a whole bunch of colors to it. This is because the shoe is meant to pay homage to Ja Morant and his family’s love of trivia night. Angel Reese And Ja Maront Link Up In Viral TikTok

Angel Reese has been in the news a lot as of late. The LSU star, who had a standout season, has been getting both positive and negative attention. However, most people are currently focused on her for the ongoing beef she has with the White House. Most recently, she clapped back at the Bidens, suggesting that LSU should visit the Obamas. But beef is not the only thing on Bayou Barbie’s plate.

Someone else who has seen a lot of press coverage lately is NBA star Ja Maront. Whether it’s his eight-game suspension or his role in a Grizzlies playoff run. he might just be the most talked about NBA star. It was just a matter of time before these two charismatic and much-talked-about basketball stars met in person.

Ja Morant And Angel Reese Hit The Griddy

In a video posted to Reese’s TikTok, she and Morant are seen linking up at LSU’s athletic facilities. A #33 jersey can be seen in the background, which has been retired by both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. LSU retired the number in 2000 for Shaq and again in 2011 for Seimone Augustus. During the 2022-23 season, Reese broke Augustus’ long-standing SEC record for single-season double-doubles. Her 34 total double-doubles also broke the NCAA single-season record. Morant is not an LSU alum, nor does he play in or hail from Louisiana. But who could resist meeting the current queen of women’s collegiate basketball?

As audio of Morant quoting his favorite NBA YoungBoy plays, Morant and Reese are seen laughing before briefly hitting the griddy together. It’s a fun and wholesome moment for two stars of their respective games who have been dogged by less than positive press coverage in recent weeks. However, with Morant back on the court and Reese getting the spotlight she deserves, perhaps fortunes are changing. Reese said in a recent interview that her dream NIL deal would be a collab with Rihanna’s Fenty brand. As for future link-ups, with the Grizzlies playoff-bound, perhaps we will see Reese head up to FedExForum in the coming weeks. Fans would surely love more content from the two stars.

Grizzlies Star Ja Morant Receives Injury Update

Ja Morant doesn’t want to push it as the Memphis Grizzlies close out the regular season. As the Grizzlies finish up back-to-back on Wednesday, Morant will unlikely play. The Grizzlies cruised to a 119-109 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. Now it seems the team will not take any chances with their biggest superstar. Memphis has basically wrapped up the two seed in the Western Conference. This could be the reason for Morant’s apparent absence from Wednesday’s matchup with the Pelicans.

Morant has been the leader of the basketball renaissance in Memphis. The Grizzlies are a young and hungry team looking to turn heads in the 2023 NBA Playoffs. However, many in the league believe the Grizzlies are too brash about their talents. A lot has been said about Morant’s louder teammate Dillon Brooks. Brooks has slowly become one of the most synonymous trash talkers in the league. The 2022-23 season has been no picnic for Morant either.

Ja Morant’s season has been flooded with controversy. The Memphis guard was seen in a since-deleted Instagram post brandishing a firearm inside an adult entertainment establishment. The incident led to a suspension and time for Morant to understand that his actions do have consequences. Since the incident, Morant has realized that his impact on the basketball community is much larger than he expected. The Grizzlies superstar has since apologized for the incident.

There have been many reports on teams resting superstars recently. With some teams thinking about rest due to not being in the playoff hunt. While others seem to be searching for rest before making their quest to the NBA Finals. Resting before the playoffs seems like the case with Morant. However, rest isn’t always in the best interest of a team heading to the playoffs. Just ask the Lakers about rest. For the latest updates on the biggest NBA news, stay locked in here at HNHH.
