Will Smith & Martin Lawrence Celebrate 26 Years Of “Bad Boys”

Twenty-six years ago, Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, and director Martin Lawrence delivered their action classic Bad Boys. The blockbuster would go on to gross $141,407,024 worldwide at the box office, as well as spawning two sequels — Bad Boys II in 2003, and most recently Bad Boys For Life in 2020.

With today marking the official anniversary of Bad Boys, Will Smith took to Instagram to commemorate the occasion alongside his longtime co-star. Set to the dulcet tone of Simple Plan vocalist Pierre Bouvier, Smith and Lawrence take a step into the past as they recreate the film’s iconic poster. “When we say FOR LIFE we mean it,” captions Smith. Bad Boys came out 26 years ago today!”

It should be noted that for last year’s twenty-fifth anniversary, the Bad Boys film franchise received a clothing capsule, available for perusal right here. It’s not surprising to see Smith and Lawrence retain continued enthusiasm for Bad Boys, as fans have proven time and again that they’re ready and willing to follow the adventures of Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett for as long as there are stories to be told. Though it’s uncertain whether or not Smith and Lawrence will ultimately reprise their roles as the beloved heroes, Will Smith’s latest celebratory status certainly suggests a willingness to do so — should the opportunity arise.

Coi Leray Breaks Mooski’s Heart In “Track Star” Music Video

Over the past few months, Mooksi’s new single “Track Star” has become one of Tk Tok’s latest dance obsessions. Similar to how SpotemGottem’s “Beat Box” blew up on the beloved social media platform, a Tik Tok user created a dance to Mooski’s “Track Star,” and before he knew it, his song had gone viral. The “Track Star” challenge itself has influenced several high-profile celebrities, from Bernice Burgos to Jayda Cheaves, to share TikToks of them doing the dance, but like “Beat Box,” many rappers and singers tried to get in on the “Track Star” craze by sharing their unofficial remixes to the viral hit, including Erica Banks, Lil Mama, Trey Songz, and Jacquees.

Now, Mooski has opted to continue pushing “Track Star” by dropping off the single’s official music video. The visuals briefly show a group of dancers performing the dance from the viral “Track Star” challenge, but the real selling point of the “Track Star” video is Coi Leray. The “No More Parties” artist plays the “track star” who broke Mooski’s heart, and the video showcases their relationship all the way from when they meet in a club at the beginning to when Mooski eventually decides to cut ties with Coi Leray‘s character at the conclusion of the video.

Check out the “Track Star” music video above to see Mooski and Coi Leray’s on-screen chemistry for yourself.

Lil Nas X Responds To Sada Baby’s Insensitive Comment About DMX’s Reported Overdose

Fans have been rallying around DMX following news of his reported drug overdose and hospitalization. While many are using this time to pray for DMX’s health, Detroit rapper Sada Baby decided to make an insensitive comment about wishing death on Lil Nas X following his single “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”

After news broke of DMX’s hospitalization, Sada Baby took to his Instagram Stories and wrote: “Lord we said Nas X not DMX.”

Lil Nas X responded to Sada Baby’s jab in true Lil Nas X fashion. Rather than making an argument out of it, Lil Nas X decided to troll the rapper by reminding him that the song is still No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “this is so f*cked up omg,” Lil Nas X wrote in response. “everyone stream the number 1 smash hit Montero (Call Me By Your Name) out now on all platforms!”

This isn’t the first time Sada Baby faced backlash for some comments he made about other rappers. Back in November, the rapper found himself in hot water after he discredited female rappers who have OnlyFans pages or were previous sex workers. “Ain’t nobody takin’ you seriously as no motherf*ckin’ artist. Care ’bout none of that sh*t,” he said. “B*tch, you known for shakin’ ass, showin’ titties, f*ckin’ OnlyFans all that type of sh*t. Whatever, b*tch. Don’t nobody give a f*ck about recordin’ no motherf*ckin’ music.”

Gwen Stefani And Saweetie Share A Sporty Teaser Of Their Upcoming ‘Slow Clap (Remix)’ Video

At the end of 2020, Gwen Stefani marked her official comeback with the playful song “Let Me Reintroduce Myself.” The song’s video saw the singer calling back to her early aughts heyday by showcasing her most iconic outfits — but she was just getting started. Last month, the singer followed-up with her rhythmic track “Slow Clap” and this week, Stefani announced she has asked Saweetie to join in on a remix.

Stefani and Saweetie’s “Slow Clap (Remix)” video is set to arrive Friday, and the two are already getting fans excited. Stefani shared a few teasers that show the duo’s friendly chemistry. One snippet gives fans a close-up look at both Stefani and Saweetie’s bejeweled acrylic nails and another shows them playing a hand-clapping game on set.

Saweetie is the latest celebrity that Stefani has recently cosigned. Ahead of the anticipated collaboration, Stefani praised Olivia Rodrigo’s debut single “Drivers License” as “a light in the dark” and was tapped by Dua Lipa to hop on a club-ready remix of the singer’s Future Nostalgia track “Physical.”

Of course, Saweetie’s remix arrives on the heels of news that she and Quavo have broken up. The rapper broke the news last month, claiming that Quavo had been unfaithful to her during their relationship. Following reports of their split, a video surfaced that showed Saweetie and Quavo getting into a physical altercation over a suitcase in an elevator. The video is reportedly being reviewed by the LAPD and Saweetie recently came forward to claim the incident happened over a year ago.

Lil Wayne Plots On “Young Money & Friends” Event In L.A.

It looks like everyone is preparing to be outside this summer with the vaccine rollout currently underway. As COVID numbers drop, and vaccination numbers rise, artists like The Weeknd and Lil Tjay have revealed their plans to hit the road as soon as it’s safe. More artists will follow suit in the months to come and Lil Wayne just announced his first live performance since the pandemic began.

This August, Lil Wayne will be hosting a Young Money & Friends concert at Los Angeles’ Memorial Coliseum to help launch the venue following extensive renovations. This event is part of an exclusive agreement between Wayne’s cannabis brand GKUA and Los Angeles’ Memorial Coliseum to host “all 4/20 events for years to come.” The partnership will also include parties and other concerts, as well as in-person and virtual experiences. Lil Wayne’s Young Money & Friends event will mark their inaugural event under this newly launched partnership.

No specific details about the show have been provided but it will include performances from Lil Wayne, artists from the Young Money roster as well as some special guests. It’ll also commemorate the first event held at the Torch at the Memorial Coliseum.

The show is scheduled for August 13th, 2021 with tickets set to go on sale on 4/20. “GKUA is about feeling inspired,” said Lil Wayne. “I’m looking forward to sharing that GKUA inspiration from the LA Coliseum. It is time to celebrate with friends.”

Even YBN Nahmir Is Trolling Himself Over “Soul Train”

At least YBN Nahmir is in on the joke. For the last few weeks, the 21-year-old rapper has been getting viciously trolled on social media for his low sales on his new album Visionland, as well as one of the specific songs on the project. Reportedly only managing to move 4,000 copies of the album in its first week out, fans have been clowning Nahmir and using this instance as the new measuring stick for low-performing projects.

While there are definitely some good songs on Visionland, there are some that likely shouldn’t have made the cut according to thousands of fans across the world. “Soul Train” has been trending for quite some time as people argue that the song is one of YBN Nahmir’s worst performances ever, with some even going so far as to say it’s one of the weakest tracks ever released. At the time of this publication, the song has an intensely bad ratio of dislikes-to-likes on YouTube, with 18,000 thumbs up and 165,000 thumbs down.

“Who let him drop this,” asked one of the top comments. “Bro made it out the hood, just to go back,” joked another. Apparently, YBN Nahmir is laughing at the memes, making a confident declaration on Twitter.

“Song of the year ‘soul train’ by @YBNNahmir,” tweeted the young rapper in response to all of the hate he’s been getting. When DJ Akademiks posted the message on his popular blog site, Nahmir doubled down, saying “DUH” to Ak’s question if it’s actually the best song of the year.

Mt. Westmore’s Album Is Coming Soon

Though the supergroup has become somewhat of a rarity in today’s day and age, Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, E-40, and Ice Cube recently joined forces to form Mt. Westmore. Since then, the quartet has been hard at work on their upcoming album, tapping in with legendary producers like DJ Battlecat, Fred Wreck, and Dr. Dre, who will be appearing on the project in some capacity.

Though little has been revealed about the album’s release date, all signs are pointing to an imminent arrival. After all, DJ Battlecat has been hard at work mixing the album (on which he played a prominent role as a producer), and today Fred Wreck came through to share a promotional picture that’s been making the rounds. In addition, Fred confirmed that Mt. Westmore’s debut would be “coming soon,” which admittedly carries an alarming amount of ambiguity when used in a hip-hop context.

That’s not to say we’re entirely in the dark. A Triller “Fight Club” event for the Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren fight is currently scheduled on April 17th, and a promo indicates that the occasion will also mark the world premiere of Mt. Westmore; in addition, the event will feature performances from Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, The Black Keys, Saweetie, and more. Expect the group to debut a few of the songs they’ve been working on, with an official single release likely to follow. On that note, a recent promo for the Big 3 featured a snippet of an upcoming song from the group’s album — check that out below.

Stay tuned for further updates on Mt. Westmore and their upcoming album as news surfaces, and sound off if you’re looking forward to hearing four of the West Coast’s biggest legends united under a single banner. As Ice Cube so eloquently stated in a recent Twitter post: “When you see all 4…it’s Mt. Westmore.”

“Nice For What” Proved That Drake Would Be Unstoppable In 2018

Even after Pusha T‘s near-fatal diss record “The Story Of Adidon,” 2018 was Drake’s year. Despite the G.O.O.D. Music president’s scathing diss, Drake was able to limp away from a beef that would’ve decimated most artists’ album rollouts and release the now five-times platinum album Scorpion. Drake’s ability to unleash such a commercial juggernaut can of course be attributed to his enormous celebrity, but Scorpion‘s two lead single had a lot to do with its success as well. The now-diamond single “God’s Plan” was the Hip-Hop community’s first taste of Drake‘s fifth studio album, but “Nice For What,” while not as huge as “God’s Plan,” still commanded its own moment in Hip-Hop history.

Released on April 6, 2018, “Nice For What” celebrates its three-year anniversary this week as a five-times platinum single and Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper. The song featured an infectious New Orleans bounce as well as an unforgettable Lauryn Hill sample, and combined with its woman-empowering lyrics, Drake had himself another huge hit on his hands. In addition to the song being an undeniable bop, the music video for “Nice For What” was what truly made the single stand out in Drake’s 2018 rollout for Scorpion. The gorgeous star-studded visuals featured cameos from famous women such as Misty Copeland, Issa Rae, Rashida Jones, Tracee Ellis Ross, Syd, Tiffany Haddish, Yara Shahidi, and Letitia Wright, among several others.

Revisit Drake’s “Nice For What” by watching its music video below.

Quotable Lyrics

I’ve been peepin’ what you bringin’ to the table
Workin’ hard, girl, everything paid for
First-last, phone bill, car note, cable
With your phone out, gotta hit them angles
With your phone out, snappin’ like you Fabo
