Lil Nas X Says He’s Done Mentioning Nicki Minaj After Backlash From Barbz

When Lil Nas X first rose to stardom with “Old Town Road,” it was rumored that he was so into Nicki Minaj that he used to operate a fan account about her. That turned out to be true, although Nas wasn’t forthcoming with that information for a while because he feared being outed as gay. Now, Nas is both openly gay and openly a Minaj fan, both of which he addresses on his latest song, “Sun Goes Down.” However, the Barbz, as Minaj’s fans are called, want Nas to keep her name out of his mouth and it appears he’s going to do just that.

On the track, Lil Nas X reflects on his past, including his admiration for Nicki Minaj, rapping, “I’d be by the phone / Stanning Nicki mornin’ into dawn / Only place I felt like I belonged / Strangers make you feel so loved, you know?” After the song was released, it seems some Barbz thought Nas was using her name for attention. The backlash was apparently severe enough for Nas to vow to stop talking about Minaj.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “to the barbz who feel i’m using nicki’s name for attention, the song i released last night was recorded last year. and it’s about my life which 6 of those years were dedicated to nicki. it’s no fake love. but i understand how it looks so i will no longer mention her.”

After Nas admitted he previously denied being a Barb, Minaj responded, saying that while she was initially hurt by that, she understood, writing on Twitter, “It was a bit of a sting when you denied being a barb, but I understand. Congratulations on building up your confidence to speak your truth.”

Adidas Yeezy 500 “Taupe Light” Officially Unveiled: Photos

One of Kanye West’s best creations with Adidas has been the dad shoe trend. While it mostly started with the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 ‘Wave Runner,” the fun continued with the Adidas Yeezy 500. The “Desert Rat” was the first colorway to come from the Yeezy 500 and over the last three years, we have seen numerous offerings make their way to the market. After about a year’s hiatus, the 500 is coming back in a very big way, and in the images below, one can find the new “Taupe Light.” model.

This colorway is extremely straightforward as the same sandy beige tone can be found all throughout the upper. From the suede to the mesh to the midsole, this shoe has a very neutral look to it and we’re sure it’s something that is going to keep sneakerheads engaged. While it’s not the most unique color scheme, it certainly lends itself well to some dope outfits.

As it stands, there is no release date for these, so keep it locked to HNHH as we continue to bring you the latest updates from the sneaker world. In the meantime, let us know what you think of these, in the comments section below.

Pooh Shiesty Fans Voice Displeasure With New Song “Switch It Up”

Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty released four new songs last night as part of his “Spring Deluxe” edition of Shiesty Season. The reloaded effort includes tracks with Lil Baby, G Herbo, and more. Fans were arguably most excited to hear the officially released version of “Switch It Up,” a song that the 1017 representative had previewed a while back with Herb. It’s the first song on the tracklist for Pooh’s new deluxe edition, but fans have been voicing their displeasure after the beat was suddenly switched up.

Given the title of the song, maybe it should be a surprise that Pooh Shiesty and his producers changed the beat but fans are making sure he’s aware that they’re not pleased. “Pooh” is currently a trending topic on Twitter with fans discussing the new deluxe. Many of the comments near the top of the trend are about “Switch It Up” and how everyone wanted to hear it with the original beat.

Ill be honest switch it up by pooh shiesty sounded better unreleased,” said one fan about the new release. “Can’t believe Pooh Shiesty fumbled switch it up like that this shit is horrendous,” said another fan.

While people are being overly dramatic about the change — the song still bangs, after all — this will likely serve as a lesson to Pooh Shiesty that he should be listening more intently to what his fans want. They’ve been excited about this song for months and now that’s it’s out, they’ve seemingly lost interest.

Did you hear the unreleased version of the song? What do you think of the beat change? Listen to the official release below.

LeBron James’ Wife Savannah Reportedly Wouldn’t Let Him Join The Knicks

Back in 2018, LeBron James had a very difficult decision to make. Everyone knew he was going to be leaving Cleveland for a second time and fans were curious as to where his journey would take him. The Philadelphia 76ers were one of the rumored teams all while the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers were also contenders. In the end, LeBron chose the Lakeshow, however, it reportedly wasn’t his first choice.

While speaking to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Lisa Robinson of Vanity Fair came out and said that LeBron had every intention of playing for the Knicks although it was his wife Savannah who voted against it. As Robinson explains, Savannah wanted their kids to go to school out West and that the location just made more sense.

“He was thinking about coming to New York but that his wife wanted to be in Los Angeles, wanted the kids to go to school in Los Angeles, and that just kiboshed the whole thing,” Robinson said.

Similar stories have been discussed in the past although considering this was said on an ESPN platform, more people are looking into the claims. If you’re a Knicks fan, this one has to sting a little bit although for Lakers supporters, this is some great news.

Deshaun Watson Lawsuits Were Reportedly In The Works Prior To Trade Request

Deshaun Watson is currently being sued by 22 women for sexual assault and all of them have a similar story. Essentially, Watson allegedly hired the women as massage therapists and when he eventually got to be in the same room as them, he acted in some very inappropriate ways. The lawsuits are still in the midst of being deliberated and according to attorney Tony Buzbee, the women have no intention of settling out of court.

In the meantime, there have been theories that the women purposely came forward in the midst of Watson’s trade request out of Houston. Some believe the Texans are behind this, although new information obtained by Sports Illustrated suggests otherwise.

In the SI report, it was revealed that Ashley Solis – the first woman to file a lawsuit against Watson – was sending text messages to another alleged victim back in December. In these text messages, Solis claims she had reached out to Buzbee’s law firm and that she had plans to file a lawsuit against Watson. This was well before Watson had requested to leave the Houston Texans.

This latest report gives us some new context when it comes to these accusations, and it’s clear that regardless of Watson’s request, these allegations would have been imminent. There is still a lot to be figured out in this case, so stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates.

Lil Nas X Says He Won’t Talk About Nicki Minaj Anymore After Barbz Attack

Lil Nas X is being betrayed by the fanbase he was once so passionately a part of. The 22-year-old pop star has one of the most interesting backstories in the entire music industry, achieving notoriety as one of the most active Nicki Minaj stan accounts on Twitter before embarking on his own musical journey. During his rise to the top of the charts, he has shown love to Nicki on numerous occasions, even sharing a quick exchange with her on Twitter last year. Despite all the love he’s displayed, the Barbz have seemingly taken issue with LNX constantly bringing up his Nicki fandom, attacking him online following the release of his latest single.

In his latest music video for “SUN GOES DOWN,” Lil Nas X writes a letter to his younger self, reflecting on his time as a famous Barb before launching his music career. While some of Nicki’s fans have supported him, Lil Nas has also received a lot of hateful messages– enough that he has told the world that he’s going to stop mentioning Nicki publicly.

“To the barbz who feel i’m using nicki’s name for attention, the song i released last night was recorded last year. and it’s about my life which 6 of those years were dedicated to nicki. it’s no fake love,” wrote the rapper on Twitter. “But i understand how it looks so i will no longer mention her.”

In the comments, people are telling LNX to quit paying attention to the hate. Even the official Young Money account showed love, replying, “Nah ignore em.” One of the most popular Nicki fansites, @NickiDaily, also supported Lil Nas. “Please ignore them! We appreciate all the love,” they wrote.

It’s a shame that Lil Nas X doesn’t feel as though he can publicly speak about one of his favorite artists anymore. Hopefully, we see a collaboration between these two chart-topping rappers to unite their fanbases.

Lil Baby Celebrates Kirk Franklin Collab: “This Is History”

Today, Lil Baby hit a new milestone in his already impressive career, linking up with the legendary Kirk Franklin for a Space Jam: A New Legacy soundtrack single. Aside from boasting vocals from Franklin, “We Win” also stands out as being a break in tradition for Baby, who seldom takes to instrumentals like the one Just Blaze cooked up for the occasion.

And yet, it all comes together effectively, with Just’s classic production serving as a welcome breath of fresh air. Not only that, but the fact that the 6-time Grammy Award winner Kirk Franklin opted to connect with Baby speaks to the QC lyricist’s status as a bonafide hip-hop superstar. It’s no wonder that he recently took to Instagram to share a few words about the collaboration, implying that it holds special significance to him.

“This song is very much so different for me but it’s definitely one of them ones!” celebrates Baby, taking to Instagram to reflect on his new release. “Thank you @spacejammovie for the opportunity. @kirkfranklin this is history.”

While it’s clear that Baby is proud of this one, it’s not certain as to whether or not he will pursue this particular sound further. It would certainly be interesting to hear Baby exploring a more nostalgic production aesthetic every once in a while, and perhaps we’ll see Just Blaze coming through to lace a few bangers on his next project. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time Blaze has blessed an Atlanta rapper with some heat — lest we forget about some of his classic T.I. collaborations from the King days.

Check out Baby’s post below, and sound off if you’ve been enjoying “We Win” off the upcoming Space Jam: A New Legacy soundtrack.

Audrey Nuna And Saba Get Reflective In The Surreal ‘Top Again’ Video

Korean-American singer Audrey Nuna teams up with Chicago rapper Saba on her newest single, “Top Again.” The video, which released concurrently with the new track, is a surreal affair that finds Nuna subtly commenting on the artifice of the entertainment industry, then wandering through an eerie hospital. Saba makes his appearance inside an ambulance, then roaming the hospital’s halls as he raps a serpentine verse picking up the threads laid down by Audrey’s introspective lyrics.

Nuna, who released her debut album A Liquid Breakfast today, has been an exciting voice in the pop-R&B realm over the past year thanks to singles “Damn Right” and “Comic Sans,” as well as the recently released “Blossom,” on which she displays a gift for rapping as well as singing. As a genre-bending experimentalist, Nuna’s rhymes are often personal but universal, with quirky non-sequiturs that give way to smart observations on the state of things in both her world and the world at large.

Meanwhile, Saba has been slowly poking his head above the surface as fans eagerly await the follow-up to his 2018 star vehicle Care For Me, putting out a vinyl version of the project with VMP and sharing videos for “Ziplock/Rich Don’t Stop” and “Lifetime” with Femdot earlier this year.

Watch Audrey Nuna’s “Top Again” video featuring Saba.

The New Jersey singer’s album, A Liquid Breakfast, is out now on Arista Records. Stream it here.

Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 “University Gold” Drops Soon: Photos

Virgil Abloh has consistently been regarded as one of the best designers in the fashion world. While his designs are certainly polarizing, Abloh has been able to captivate streetwear and fashion enthusiasts who like to see something different yet eerily similar at the same time. Back in 2017, Abloh grew his profile by working with Nike on the infamous “The Ten” collection which remains highly regarded as one of the best Nike collabs of all time.

Since 2017, Abloh has dropped a plethora of other Nike sneakers including the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 “MCA.” For months now, fans have been anticipating another Air Force 1 Low, called “University Gold.” According to @zsneakerheadz, this shoe is actually going to be released in the month of July, and you can see some photos below. The shoe is essentially dressed in yellow leather all while the Nike swoosh on the side is silver. Overall, it’s a pretty phenomenal look and we’re sure all of the Off-White fans out there will be rushing to get a pair.

For now, a release date has not yet been revealed although with these dropping sometime in the summer, be sure to keep it locked to HNHH as we will continue to keep you updated on these kicks.
