Chance The Rapper Will Celebrate The Fifth Anniversary Of ‘Coloring Book’ With A New Movie

Later this month, Chance The Rapper will celebrate the five year anniversary of his third mixtape, Coloring Book. The full-length effort arrived three years after his 2013 breakout project, Acid Rap. In order to celebrate its fifth anniversary, Chance The Rapper announced that his upcoming movie, Magnificent Coloring Book, will debut exclusively in AMC Theatres later this summer. He shared a trailer for the film that captured the many performances Chance did during his tour for the album.

Chance shared his excitement for the upcoming film in a post on Twitter. “I’m independently distributing a film to theatres and I’m extreeemely proud of myself,” he wrote. “Thank you @AMCTheatres and thank you to everyone who made this concert, this film and this partnership possible. WE GOING TO THE MOVIESSS.” While Magnificent Coloring Book will stand to be Chance’s big-screen debut, it also marks the first time a recording artist has independently distributed a film through the movie theater company.

”As the first individual music artist to distribute a concert film at AMC, Chance continues to break new ground in entertainment, and we are thrilled to bring this incredible event to the big screen at AMC communities around the country,” Nikkole Denson-Randolph, SVP, Content Strategy & Inclusive Programming at AMC Theatres, wrote in a statement, according to Rolling Stone. “Chance’s love of not only film, but the communal magic of the cinemas and the shared experience of seeing a film together makes this collaboration even more special.”

Magnificent Coloring Book has been confirmed for a summer release, but a specific premiere date has not yet been shared.

Floyd Mayweather Reportedly Has A New Preferred Challenger In Mind

Floyd Mayweather is gearing up for a huge fight against Logan Paul in about a month from now and many are curious to see how it will play out. Pretty well everyone believes it’s going to be Floyd who comes out victorious, and if he somehow loses, it will definitely be one of the most embarrassing moments of his life. 

Mayweather has remained adamant that this is just an exhibition and that it won’t count against his record. Now, however, according to The Sun, Mayweather has plans to get back into fighting for real, and that he even has his sights set on Billy Joe Saunders. While this is would be an interesting battle, it is only going to happen if Saunders is able to upset Canelo Alvarez.

Alvarez and Saunders are set to fight tonight and it seems like a foregone conclusion that Alvarez is going to come away with the win. If Saunders is somehow able to squeak by with a win, then there is as solid a chance as ever that Mayweather will come knocking with an offer for a fight.

This would definitely be an interesting prospect although a lot would have to happen for it to work out. Regardless, it would be nice to see Mayweather fight some real boxers again.

Little Simz & Cleo Sol Represent On Their New Collab “Woman”

It’s been a long time coming but Little Simz will finally unleash a new album this year. The UK rapper’s GREY Area arrived in 2019 ahead of her appearance on Top Boy and fans have been longing for a new project ever since. We can assume the pandemic got in the way but rest assured, Sometimes I Might Be Introverted will be coming on September 3rd. 

The rapper dropped of her single, “Introvert” last month and now returns with the second single off of the project, “Woman” ft. Cleo Sol. The breezy new single finds Simz and Cleo Sol showing love and empowering women across the globe.

“I love it when I see women doing their thing and looking flawless; I’m here for that! It’s empowering, it’s inspiring; I wanted to say thank you and I wanted to celebrate them,” Simz said in a statement.

Czarface & MF DOOM Colide In An Intergalactic Realm On “Mando Calrissian”

The iconic duo that is Czarface, consisting of Inspectah Deck, 7L & Estoric, have continuously brought us new projects since 2013 including several collaborative efforts. In 2018, they released Czarface Meets Metal Face alongside the late MF DOOM that became an instant cult classic. A body of work among some of underground hip-hop’s most revered MCs drew demand for a sequel which has been in the works for a while. 

On Friday, Czarface shared Super What?, their second collaborative effort with MF Doom that was expected to drop prior to the pandemic last year. Sci-Fi references are scattered throughout the project like on “Mando Calrissian,” an ode to Star Wars that opens up with a reference to Mandalorian. Deck, Historic, and DOOM drop bars drawing parallels between street activity and the world of CZARFORCE over spacey production.

Rubi Rose’s Hacker Exposes Thirsty DMs From Kodak Black & Lil Reese, Twitter Reacts

Getting your social media and the contents of your phone hacked is a nightmarish reality for anyone who has either of the two. What makes it even worse is when the hacker in question threatens to leak your private content while proving they’re not bluffing. Unfortunately for Rubi Rose, this is her reality this weekend. 

Rubi admitted that an individual known as Propkers22 had somehow accessed her phone and gained entry to her Twitter account, which boasts over 550,000 followers. The hacker began terrorizing the Atlanta rapper’s Twitter account late Friday night (May 7), firing off numerous off-key tweets that left many suspecting her account had been compromised long before it was confirmed.

While all the tweets have been erased, images of the leaked DMs from Lil Reese and Kodak Black have recirculated, capturing the attention of meme-centered social media users. Rubi began trending on social media after the leaked messages showed her ignoring DMs begging for her attention from Lil Reese. Kodak Black was also exposed as a straggler in Rubi’s DMs.  

Of course, Twitter found a way to get jokes off about the whole situation, specifically mocking Lil Reese for talking to himself in Rubi’s DMs. The hacker also threatened to leak intimidate photos of Rubi, but that has yet to happen. 

At the time of publication, it appears Rubi and her team have been able to regain control of her account. Nonetheless, the memes will live on. Check out some more reactions to the leaked DMs below.

Jimmy Butler Gets Disrespectful While Chirping Karl-Anthony Towns

When Jimmy Butler was on the Minnesota Timberwolves for a brief period of time, he was looked at as a bit of a tyrant. Everyone remembers that one practice where he punked the entire team and had some choice words for the likes of Andrew Wiggins, and even Karl-Anthony Towns. Now, Butler is in Miami where he has seen a lot more success, even if this season has been a lot tougher than the last.

Last night, Butler and his Heat got to play the T-Wolves and in the end, it was the Heat who came out on top. At one point, however, Towns and Butler got into it and it led to some NSFW trash talk. Butler was certainly the most disrespectful during the encounter as he had some very choice words for Towns.

“You soft as baby sh*t… you a loser. I already punked you once,” Butler told KAT. These are definitely fighting words but KAT seemed to be relatively unfazed by all of it as he went about his business.

As for these two teams, the Heat seem to be on their way to the playoffs all while the T-Wolves are experiencing yet another terrible season. Simply put, Butler certainly seems to be winning the beef.

Kuttem Reese Taps Lil Durk, Fredo Bang, Chief Keef & More For “Kutt Dat Boy”

Kuttem Reese made an explosive debut on the scene during the pandemic, cleverly using the extended period of isolation to his advantage. Reaching over 5 million video views and over 1 million streams in just a few months, Kuttem’s talent truly speaks for itself. The Orlando rapper built a strong fanbase on Instagram and Youtube in just 7 months, earning co-signs and feature requests from  

Upon listening to Kutt Day Boy, it’s hard to believe Kuttem Reese is just a rookie to the rap game. “May 2021 is going to make it a year,” said the newcomer in a recent profile. The confident delivery of his bars on the authentically street tape lets the world know he’s here to stay. He taps other “voice of the streets” type rappers like Lil Durk, Chief Keef, Fredo Bang, Bobby Fishscale, and Slimelife Shawty to provide guest appearances on the track. 

“Dig Yo Grave” serves as the proper introductory track, setting the tone for the subsequent street bangers that follow. “Bout It” with Fredo Bang is another standout moment from the project, a declaratory gritty cut featuring the two rappers showing their gangster. The previously released “No Statements” with Lil Durk is another highlight of the project.

Jay-Z Reportedly Files To Trademark “2/J” For TV & Film Production

It was only last week when Jay-Z and Nas connected for “Sorry Not Sorry” on DJ Khaled’s album where they rapped about their lucrative success outside of music. Hov, specifically, has made plays with the NFL to his recent partnership with the spirit arm of LVMH. Over the past few years, Jay’s also been more heavily involved in film projects which it appears he’s looking to expand on even further.

Per TMZ, Jay-Z’s company S. Carter Entreprises has filed to trademark “2/J” earlier this month for the purpose of “entertainment services in the nature of creation, development, and production” of TV and film projects. Naturally, it would seem that the rapper is looking to expand his empire further with a production company, similar to Lebron James and Will Smith. 

Though ROC Films produced a slew of cult classics during the Roc-A-Fella heyday such as State Property and Paid In Full, that was largely under Dame Dash’s direction. However, Jay’s had a heavy hand in a few movies and docs in recent times such as Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story and The Great Gatsby where he served as an executive producer. He also is credited as a producer on 2014’s Annie. While an album release might not be coming anytime soon, we’re excited to see whatever ends up happening with this possible production company.

Derek Chauvin Indicted Over Alleged Incident With Black Teen

Derek Chauvin was recently found guilty on three separate charges in the death of George Floyd. Chauvin will now be sentenced about six weeks from now and many are anticipating a long stay in prison. He ended up being found guilty of second and third-degree murder, while also picking up a manslaughter charge in the process. For many, this was a huge win for the justice system and it is believed that this will now set a precedent for similar cases.

Now, according to CBS, Chauvin is being indicted again, this time for an incident from 2017 involving a 14-year-old black teenager. There are actually two counts being placed upon Chauvin in this new case, with court docs claiming that Chauvin allegedly “held Juvenile by the throat and struck Juvenile 1 multiple times in the head with a flashlight.”

There are some damning allegations in the indictment, including: “This offense included the use of a dangerous weapon — a flashlight — and resulted in bodily injury to Juvenile 1 […] held his knee on the neck and the upper back of the teenager even after the teenager was lying prone, handcuffed, and unresisting, also resulting in bodily injury.” 

It remains to be seen how this new case will play out, although if there is one thing for certain, it’s that things aren’t going too well for Chauvin right now.
