Kevin Durant Shows His Appreciation For Jayson Tatum

Kevin Durant and his Brooklyn Nets are set to face off against the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. At this point, it seems like an inevitability that the Nets will win the series and will most likely go on to the NBA Finals. Despite this, the Celtics plan on putting up a good fight and with players like Jayson Tatum on the roster, they have a great shot at forcing this series to six or seven games.

In fact, KD gave big props to Tatum in a recent report from NBC Sports Boston. As Durant explained, Tatum has done a great job staying healthy throughout the season and that Tatum’s talent is among some of the best in the entire league. Based on KD’s words, it’s clear that he’s a fan of the young star.

Per KD:

“I mean, the way he plays the game, he never changes his style from scoring from the top of the key, to the post, from either side of the floor, adding passing to the game now. I feel like he has some blinders on and just focused in on developing and continuing to grow as a player, and that’s what I admire the most from afar. But he’s learning more and more about NBA defenses and as a young guy he’s been through so much already. He’s only going to get smarter, so I think at this point people have thrown everything at him and he’s handled it pretty well.”

Game 1 of the first round series between the Nets and Celtics will go down tomorrow in Brooklyn at 8 PM EST.

Coi Leray Won’t Be Caught In An Open Relationship: “NEVER”

A viral story today (May 21) has caused people to converse about what they will, and won’t, put up with in a relationship. Earlier today, TMZ reported that Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner had reignited their romance, but this time around, they were reportedly involved in an open relationship. The concept of polyamory has been around for millennia, but many people vocalized that they couldn’t participate in such a relationship, including Coi Leray.

The rapper took to her Twitter to share her thoughts. “I will never share my n*gga,” tweeted Leray. “I REPEAT ! NEVERRRRRRRR.”

“f I’m in a relationship, n*gga be ready to be with me to the day I die.. if you not ready for that commitment keepitmoving,” she added. However, she didn’t want people t attack Kylie for whatever relationship standards she and Travis may have had. “And one thing yall not gonna come for Kylie . B*tch I love Kylie.”

Yet, Kylie has already come forward to debunk claims that she is in an open relationship with the father of her child. “You guys really just make up anything,” Jenner wrote. “I’m not discrediting anyone who is in an open relationship but it’s just careless and disrespectful to throw this narrative out there without knowing what’s true.”

Check out Coi’s tweets below.

Dana White Claims He Is “Moving On” From Jon Jones

Dana White has always played hardball with his athletes and superstars like Jon Jones are no exception. Ever since Francis Ngannou defeated Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight title, there have been talks surrounding a Jones Vs. Ngannou title fight. Unfortunately, those have quickly gone by the way side as White claims that Jones is just asking for too much money, at this point. Instead, White has every intention of giving the title fight to Derrick Lewis, who is another star in the division.

While speaking to TMZ recently, White explained the situation with Jones and how it won’t be resolved anytime soon. White acknowledged that Jones can come back whenever he wants although for now, the UFC has moved on from negotiations with the undefeated legend.

“Yeah, I’ve absolutely moved on,” White said. “Listen, I put on fights every Saturday. We have a window where we try to build some fights and make some things happen. If the fights don’t happen within that window, we move on, and realistically, I mean I’ve been saying it since the beginning, Derrick Lewis is the guy who should be getting the title shots. He beat Francis Ngannou. He’s next in line, he’s coming off of great performances and that’s a wrap. We’re moving on.”

This will come as very disappointing news to all of the Jones fans out there although considering his history with White, it is to be expected at this point. Hopefully, a solution can be brought about sooner rather than later.

Trump Sued For $22Mil By Civil Right Group Over Use Of “China Virus”

Starting on June 15th, California is releasing mandates set in place due to the COVID-19 quarantine. Both masks and social distancing will no longer be required, and we’re seeing several other states following suit just in time for the summer shenanigans. The “end” of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused millions to breathe a sigh of relief, but former President Donald Trump may not be one of them because he has a new set of legal problems with a Chinese American civil rights group.

According to the Independent, the Chinese American Civil Rights Coalition is taking Trump to court for continuing to use the term “China virus,” “Wuhan virus,” and Kung Flu” to describe COVID-19. They claim that that the former president’s comments have been a driving force of the rise in hate crimes against Asian communities.

Reports state the organization is suing Trump for a little over $22 million as they cite emotional distress and defamation. While Trump nor his legal team have directly addressed this lawsuit just yet, he has defended his use of such language regarding coronavirus. Back in March 2020, Trump said it wasn’t racist “at all” for him to call coronavirus the “China virus” because he said, “It comes from China.”

The Chinese American Civil Rights Coalition came up with their $22 million number because it was calculated to represent “$1 for every Asian American and Pacific Islander living in the United States,” reports the Independent courtesy of TMZ. It’s also reported that the group plans on using the money, if they win a judgment, to open a museum that highlights the various cultures of Asian and Pacific Islanders.

Patrick Mahomes Explains Why Footballs Should Be Microchipped

Patrick Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and he has a real opportunity to become of the greatest to ever step on the field. Having said that, it should be obvious to everyone that he is one of the best people to speak on what can and can’t work for the game of football. There are plenty of areas where the officiating can improve, and Mahomes wants to make sure that the game is in good hands for the foreseeable future.

During an appearance on the WHOOP Podcast, Mahomes spoke about the NFL rules and how every football should actually be microchipped. The Chiefs quarterback says this microchip could determine whether or not a player has crossed the goal line during a situation where the ref simply can’t tell where the ball is.

“I feel like the chip in the ball has gotta happen at some point,” Mahomes said. “If you cross the line, it just tells you, touchdown. There is literally no way you can tell if he’s in the end zone or not and like, it’s just whatever they call.”

While this seems like a good idea, the main issue is how this doesn’t take into consideration whether or not a player was down by contact before breaking the plane. Needless to say, it sounds good in theory but we probably won’t see it happen anytime soon.

Ari Lennox Addresses Critics Of New Look: “I’ve Always Loved Lacefronts”

If you’ve been keeping up with Ari Lennox, then you know she’s been sporting a few new looks lately. Throughout her career, the first lady of Dreamville was both praised and criticized for her look because she dared to be different while displaying her natural hair and curves. Ari has often stepped up to call out people who made fun of her nose, skin color, hair, or shape, and now that she’s posing in barely-there bikinis with silky straight lace fronts, those same critics are still finding fault with the singer.

However, Ari has also been applauded for her sexier style, and with the praise has come people bringing attention to the Shea Butter Baby singer previously receiving nasty remarks from online bullies. Ari doesn’t think reopening old wounds is the way to go so she addressed the conversation about her recent sexier photos.

“Reminding people of the sick things people use to say about me is counterproductive,” the singer wrote on her Instagram Story. “It’s not kind, even though you may think you mean well. I’ve always loved lacefronts. I love that I’m no longer afraid to try new styles. I love these protective styles which will promote stronger healthier hair. I’m still natural Courtney. Just a natural Courtney embracing new things and growing.”

Check out Ari Lennox’s post as well as some stunning images of the singer below.

Georges St-Pierre Reacts To Dana White Shutting Down Oscar De La Hoya Fight

Despite being retired from the UFC for some time now, it was rumored just last weekend that Georges St-Pierre was supposed to fight Oscar De La Hoya in a boxing match for Triller. This could have been a truly epic battle between two legendary fighters in their respective fields, however, in typical Dana White fashion, the UFC boss swooped in and took all of the fun away. Since that time, De La Hoya has put White on blast through social media, while St-Pierre has been a lot more civil.

In fact, during an interview with Cinema Blend, St-Pierre explained the situation and how he’s not blaming anyone for what happened. However, he did admit that it would have been an amazing opportunity and he hopes it can still happen sometime in the future.

Per St-Pierre:

“I understand that Dana didn’t want me to fight. However, it would have been fun. Because my career as a professional fighter, to become the best in the world in mixed martial arts, is done. I’m turning 40 years old tomorrow; I’m going to be 40 years old. It’s a young man’s game. However, to rather fight a boxing match under the rules that Triller put on against the legendary Oscar De La Hoya? For me, it would have been a dream come true, because he is my second favorite boxer of all time, behind Sugar Ray Leonard. Plus, a lot of the money made would have been given to charity. So it would have been for a good cause, just to show that we don’t take ourselves too seriously. And it would have been serious competition because you say, I play basketball, I play hockey, but you don’t ‘play’ fighting. It would have been fun.”

For now, White seems opposed to the whole Triller boxing thing although if the money is right, maybe one day he will change his mind.

XXXTentacion’s Brother Is Suing The Rapper’s Mother Over Money From X’s Estate, Again

After rising rapper XXXtentacion’s tragic and untimely death in the summer of 2018, which saw the hip-hop world mourning a troubled talent gone too soon, his surviving family members have been charged with care of his estate. But relationships between the remaining relations have been a little strained, and according to legal paperwork obtained by XXL, the late rapper’s half-brother, Corey Pack, is suining X’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, for transferring money from his estate into separate holding companies.

Bernard was appointed to oversee X’s estate and the Bad Vibes Forever label, but Pack has also been designated a beneficiary. According to the paperwork he filed with the the Circuit Court of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Fla. on May 14, Pack is due 25% of assets belong to the rapper born Jahseh Onfroy. A beneficiary as of November 7, 2012, his irrevocable trust is dated for March 4, 2019. Pack accuses Bernard of trying to “further defraud, delay, hinder and frustrate [his ability to] recover the beneficial interest in such assets.” Because of this, Pack is suing for monetary damages of $30,000, along with legal fees, interest, and his fair share of the estate.

Pack’s suit comes on the heels of a suit his own mother, Jodi Kavney, filed against Bernard on behalf of her son last summer. That suit once again accused X’s mother of transfering over $11 million in assets over to her own accounts, without properly dispersing a cut to Pack. X’s estate left behind over $50 million, with fifty percent designated to the label, which remains in Bernard’s control.

The estate recently released a series of NFTs involving the late rapper’s old Soundcloud output (see above for a preview), so it’s very possible the financial means will continue to grow as well.
