Mugshots Released For Men Involved In DaBaby Miami Beach Shootout

According to reports, DaBaby was allegedly detained at South Beach in Miami on Monday (May 31) after he and several others were involved in a shooting. The street shootout left two people injured, with one in critical condition. Miami Beach Police spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez adds that the individual in critical condition remains in the hospital.

Sources confirmed the rapper and a few members of his crew were detained following the incident, but the “Rockstar” artist was allegedly eventually released from police custody after being questioned. Now, mugshot photos have been released for two other individuals involved in the shooting.

The first man charged in the Miami shooting was DaBaby’s artist Wisdom, while the second man charged has been identified as Christopher Urena. Both were involved in the Memorial Day shooting outside of Prime 112 in Miami Beach leaving two individuals injured.

Urena has been charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault, in addition to charges of grand theft and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. According to a police report regarding the incident, Urena is accused of shooting an individual in the back. The report furthers the person is still in the hospital and is paralyzed.

Previous reports named Wisdom, a rapper and member of DaBaby’s entourage, as another person facing charges for the shootout. He was detained for attempted murder with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a firearm in connection with the shooting. Police add that Wisdom was part of the group of men that got into a verbal argument with the victims.

Authorities further add that Wisdom shot one of the victims in the leg as they attempted to flee. As for Urena, TMZ reports that he was seen shooting one of the victims in the back. DaBaby seems to not be facing any charges in connection with the case.

Candace Owens Supports Naomi Osaka After Bashing Her Days Prior

On Monday morning, Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka officially withdrew from The French Open after receiving a fine and risk of expulsion from the tournament. She was fined for not wanting to do press conferences as she says it affects her mental health greatly. In her statement, she explained that she didn’t want to be a distraction to the tournament and felt that withdrawing was the best choice to prevent that.

Many people came out in support of Osaka as mental health is rarely discussed in sports. Although unusual, her move to withdraw will only help open doors for future athletes to prioritize mental health. One of the thousands who came out in support of her is conservative author and activist Candance Owens.

Owens took to twitter to write, “Naomi Osaka made the right decision. Mental illness is serious, and it is always an act of courage to step away to deal with personal issues. Emphasis on the word personal…The concept here is simple. I have people in my family who struggle with alcoholism. They do not demand that every venue and person in the world, therefore, stop drinking and selling alcohol.”

This type of statement is nothing new from Owens. She’ll often insert herself in the news, by stating if she supports what’s happening or not, and then adding an inflammatory opinion about today’s society that is sure to cause chaos. If you were to scroll through her replies, you would already see the arguments bubbling. Some supported her “personal struggles are not universal” comment, and others told her to shut up, simply put.

Nonetheless, it’s odd for Owens to suddenly come out in support of Osaka because, as some users have pointed out, Owens called her “annoying” and told her to “quit tennis” just days prior. Thus, some are questioning if this statement of support is genuine or if she’s trying to get some attention to promote her book and show.

Juvenile Recalls JAY-Z Remixing “Ha”

Juvenile’s 400 Degreez is an undeniable classic, easily one of the greatest albums to emerge from the Cash Money movement. Produced in its entirety by Mannie Fresh, the album featured hit singles like “Back That Azz Up” and “Ha” among other deeper cuts. It also features a remix of “Ha” with JAY-Z, who at the time was in the midst of delivering his own classic album Vol 2…Hard Knock Life.

In a recent interview with DJ Vlad, Juve opened up about his reaction to hearing JAY-Z hop on his track, sharing the interesting backstory of how it all came together. Off the top, Vlad notes how “Ha” was an absolute game-changer. “You ain’t lyin,” notes Juve. “But the record that really started to make my album take off with record sales, and you probably wouldn’t believe it, was ‘Follow Me Now.’ ‘Ha’ came out, that was the first release. The album sales weren’t doing too great when ‘Ha’ came out.”

Despite the lackluster album sales, JAY-Z had been working on the remix on his own volition. “So when JAY-Z sent the remix to us, it was kind of unexpected. We didn’t know he was going to do that anyway. He did it on his own. So the idea came to go back and put the JAY-Z song on the remix. Cause JAY-Z wasn’t on the album originally. We gon’ put the JAY-Z song on the album, and I recorded ‘Follow Me Now’ — not knowing that it was a Carlos Santana sample, and not knowing it was already big before I said anything on it. It blew up.”

Eventually, the team realized that the project’s future ultimately centered around “Back That Azz Up,” which was already gaining steam in the clubs. Check out Juve’s reflection on the “Ha Remix” and revisit the classic tune below.

Chiiild’s Groove-Driven Single ‘Eventually’ Is Optimistic About Love

With every single released off his forthcoming project, Montreal-based singer Chiiild seems to explore a new genre. His recent track “Gone” was a coffeehouse anthem while his previous tune “Sleepwalking” was a driving lullaby. Now taking his sound to new heights, Chiiild leans on groovy bass guitar for his funk-forward single “Eventually.”

“Eventually” is the fourth preview Chiiild has shared of his impending debut album Hope For Sale. The song opens with atmospheric synths before Chiiild’s brooding vocals melts over a layered beat. “I know eventually / You will fall for me baby / And then you’ll want me back / I know you want me bad,” he sings at the chorus.

Previously speaking about his upcoming project in an interview with Uproxx, Chiiild noted his intentions for Hope For Sale:

“The intention I think was — to break it down — lyrically, to be more conversational, to reflect the times [more]. A lot of the artists that I love and I grew up on are just like mirrors of society… it’s beautiful because you see what’s happening, what’s trending in life, not so much just music, and you’re like, ‘Hey this is what I need to reflect, this is my reaction to that trend.’”

“Jackass” Director Says Bam Margera Sent Him & His Kids Death Threats

Bam Margera was fired from Jackass 4 at the beginning of the year and ever since then, director Jeff Tremaine says that he has been receiving disturbing text messages from the actor/stuntman. The longtime collaborators have been at odds this year since Margera’s firing, which allegedly happened after the actor broke the clause of his contract. It has escalated so severely that their issues were brought to court. A restraining order has been granted, which means that Margera legally needs to stay 100 yards away from Tremaine, his wife, and his kids. He will also be forced to stop sending threatening text messages.

As reported by TMZ, Bam Margera has been sending threatening messages to Jeff Tremaine for much of this year. The texts were included in legal documents, including death threats against the director and his children.

“Look at your children and grab your pocket book and write a check, if you are greedy, and cheap, look at your children again,” allegedly wrote Margera in the messages. “If you don‘t sign the paper, look at you children. Sign your stupid Fucking contract before your (sic) not safe anywhere.”

Tremaine says that the contract Margera is referring to was written by the actor himself. “You are the fucking reason I am batshit crazy,” said Margera in the texts. “Sign the fucking contract or your life will change.”

Take a look at all of the messages in the link below. Hopefully, Bam gets the help he needs. He appears to be in crisis mode and needs professional guidance.

Joel Embiid Out For Crucial Game 5 Due To Small Meniscus Tear

Center Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers suffered a small tear on the meniscus of his right knee after his team endured a close loss against the Washington Wizards on Monday. The injury came about during the first quarter of Monday night’s game, when Embiid took an awkward fall that he couldn’t walk off. The team had been previously undefeated in their playoff bout against the Wizards and were chasing a sweep of the whole series. The Center has been put on day-to-day watch for the rest of the series against Washington, although he is confirmed to not be on the roster for tonight’s Game 5 in Philadelphia. This is a massive letdown for Sixers fans who think Embiid, who averages a career 22.6 points per playoff game, was the key to finishing the Wizards and moving on.

Embiid previously suffered a more significant injury on his left leg earlier this season, in March, where he missed 10 games for a bone bruise. Fans and twitter users are extremely wary of a similar outcome and are expressing their anxieties about the pivotal player.

One viewer offered: “I don’t know how anyone can say they watched game 4 and didn’t notice the team looking lost without Embiid to lead the offense.”

Others are gauging the risk of allowing him to play on his injured knee– “He could possibly play w/ the injury if the tear is on the periphery & doesn’t impact functional movement. But he will still have to manage the associated symptoms (pain, swelling) & there is some risk of worsening the tear”– while Sixers diehards are wondering if Embiid will be able to play in the next playoff round if the Sixers clinch the series: “I need to know the medical side. But if 76ers can close this out tonight and Knicks can stretch out this Hawks series a few more games, that’s going to give Embiid up to 7 days maybe extra to rest/rehab. This is my optimistic take on things.”

While he definitely will not be on the court tonight, doctors say they will be keeping a close eye on the location of the tear and surrounding blood flow to make decisions about possible playtime.

Will you be tuning in to Game 5 tonight? Can the Sixers pull through without Embiid or is this an opportunity for the Wizards to catch up?

California Launches Slave Reparations Task Force

Reparations for descendants of Black American slaves has been a conversation had time and time again consistently leading to no clear answer. Tulsa, Oklahoma became one of the first cities to actively try to compensate the descendants of the victims and survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

While a commission was developed back in 2001 to figure out how to best payout victims, no moves were made. California may finally lead the conversation about reparations, recently launching a first-in-the-nation task force to study and recommend reparations for Black Americans. Holding the first meeting on Tuesday (June 1), the two-year process will address the harms of slavery and systemic racism despite the federal government’s lack of action.

The committee is reportedly the “first state reparations committee in the U.S.” The nine members of the task force, who were appointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom and legislative leaders, include descendants of slaves who now work as prominent lawyers, academics, and politicians. The group’s elected chair is a young lawyer who specializes in intellectual property, while their vice-chair is a longtime civil rights activist arrested with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“I’m so thankful to my ancestors, who survived so much trauma, so much pain, so much tragedy, so much brutality, so that I could live,” said Lisa Holder, a civil rights attorney in LA. “And I am ready to fight to deliver them — our ancestors —justice.” The legislation was written by Secretary of State Shirley Weber and the task force will focus on providing summaries on discrimination against Black people, sharing their findings with the public, calculating reparation payouts, and putting together a public apology.

Critics of the new legislation note that California did not have any slaves and should therefore not be paying any reparations. To this, Weber notes that she hopes it can “point the way” to the federal government to eventually do the same.

“Some asked us why in California and why not somewhere else,” Shirley said. “Why did we not do this in the south? But we came to understand very clearly, California has the ability and the power to do it. And if not us, then who? We waited almost 40 years for Congress to basically pass HR 40.”

H.R. 40 was a national reparations bill introduced to congress back in 1989. The bill has struggled to gain the necessary support to pass both chambers of Congress. With the new California legislation, the bill may finally pass.

The Inseparable Duo, Megan Fox & MGK, Pulled Over In LA

Rockstar Machine Gun Kelly made the mistake of leaving his helmet home during a Wednesday morning motorcycle ride with lover Megan Fox today. The couple was pulled over in their LA neighborhood and were said to have been “friendly and cooperative with the officer,” though Fox did have her helmet on. It seems Kelly, real name Colson Baker, was not only without his helmet but was not authorized to drive the motorcycle, as he was ticketed for not having his helmet and “not having the proper endorsement to operate a motorcycle on his driver’s license.”

Dynamic duo Machine Gun Kelly, 31, and Megan Fox, 35, have been inseparable ever since they made their relationship official in May of last year. Last week, the couple made headlines for their appearance at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards for their red carpet PDA’s and strong chemistry. Later that week, just a day after their one year anniversary of saying ‘I Love You,’ the rockstar-actress duo wowed audiences at the iHeartRadio awards with further PDA’s and Baker’s long acrylic nails.

Their outfits have often been a talking point– Baker even has a necklace containing Fox’s real blood.

Unsurprisingly, the couple is not planning on fighting the tickets. Would you drive a motorcycle without a helmet? Would you let someone? Let us know.

Young Nudy: The Importance Of Being EV4L

Young Nudy’s Dr. EV4L has arrived in full malevolent glory. Though certainly darker on the thematic scale, with Nudy often preferring to gleefully revel in violence and brutality, his sheer joy in doing so gives the project a strangely uplifting vibe. It’s not entirely surprising given Nudy’s real-life disposition, prone to laughter and enjoying his wild ride through the rap game.

We recently had the chance to catch up with Young Nudy — who previously held it down for one of our most entertaining episodes of How To Roll — when he first dropped off Dr. EV4L. Sitting in the passenger’s seat while on the move, clearly reeling from the early success of his acclaimed project (which blasted intermittently in the background during moments of peak excitement), the rapper offered some insight into how things came together, breaking down some of his own evil inspirations, and revealing his pick for the most dangerous horror movie icon — and no, it’s not the villain who shares the album’s title.

Check out our conversation with Young Nudy below, and be sure to go stream Dr. EV4L when you’re done.

HNHH:Congrats on the new album, I’ve been keeping it on rotation!

Young Nudy: Yeah for sure, we locked in. As long as you keepin that shit spinnin!

How does it feel to have another one out?

[Laughs] Shit it feels good, you know what I mean? I’m just trying to keep it going, man. I’m trying to make sure everything better than the last, you feel what I’m sayin’? How do you feel about it?

I think it might be one of your best so far. It’s pretty hard to tell based on how early it is, but personally, I like the darker sound. You tapped into something cool, even with the cover and the imagery. I really like that.

I appreciate it, I appreciate it, man. I tried to come a little different, tried to come like when I first started coming in type shit.

Is there something about those darker and spookier beats that encourages something creative in you?

Ah shit, I don’t goddamn know, I just felt like, you know, on my last couple little mixtapes and album, from Nudyland to Anyways, a lot of shit was like– I mean I would talk about doing a little shit but the beats weren’t evil like that. I wasn’t being that rough with the situation. I wasn’t being harsh with it like that. So then when I came like that on this motherfucker, like I ain’t give a fuck barely about too much of what I said or about whoever fuck wants to be mad or whatever. [Laughs] But yeah, that’s how we coming!

I noticed a lot of horror references on this one. Obviously, you’ve been referencing Chucky for a while now, but you name-dropped a lot of horror movies, villains, and icons. So I’m curious, are you a fan of horror movies?

I’ve always been a fan of Chuckie, you know that’s my boy. I was like an animated type, I liked the animated shit. But I really started fucking with the horror shit like a year ago. I just started getting into it when I felt like I wanted to come with a different type of music. I wanted to use that shit to my advantage.

Definitely. I heard you referencing Michael Myers, Jason Vorhees, and even Jeepers Creepers in there, which was cool.

Yeah man! [Laughs]

I was wondering, out of all those horror killers, who do you think is the most dangerous? You got Chucky, Mike Myers, Jason, Freddie Krueger?

Most dangerous? I can’t switch on the home team. I would say Chucky on gang.

He’s got the size disadvantage, but he’s kinda sneaky.

Chuck is more my type. He doesn’t too much show emotion about that shit. Lemme tell you who’s solid dangerous — you know he evil, man. Michael Myers. Nothin to play with.

For sure. There’s actually a Halloween movie where Michael Myers actually fights Busta Rhymes, and Busta Rhymes whoops his ass.

I’ve seen that, I’ve seen that. That shit was kinda cool. They need to make Michael Myers vs. Jason. That would be fire.

That would be cool.

You ever seen Freddy Vs. Jason?

Yeah! Freddy vs. Jason, I remember that one.

That shit wasn’t even that scary, it was more funny!

Seriously. I don’t know, I think they did it on purpose — I think it was supposed to be kinda funny, but I don’t really know. On another note —  about the album cover, did you have any say in how that came together?

My team had sent me some covers because I knew I wanted some evil-looking ass shit! I ain’t want no animated or no bright light type shit. And when they sent me that, I just fell in love with that shit. Then I posted it to see if my fans liked that shit, you feel me? And they loved that shit! Shoutout to the person that made that motherfucker. Did a wonderful job. I love it.

About the title: why Dr. Evil? What was it about Dr. Evil that spoke to you for this album?

I’m evil! That’s what it is, cause I’m evil! [Maniacal laughter]

Are you an Austin Powers fan?

I fuck with Austin Powers, but my Dr. Evil is more like that Dr. Evil mixed with The Joker slash mafia type. So like, all that shit crushed in one and you make the Nudy Dr. Evil.

Before I let you go, I know you’re a big Grand Theft Auto player — do you think it’s time for a GTA city that’s based off Atlanta at this point?

Yeah! They should do Atlanta and Chicago together. That would be hard.

Agreed. Thanks for taking the time, and enjoy the rest of your day.

Thanks, man. You enjoy your day man, great interview man, salute!
