Yung Bleu Responds To Producer’s Lawsuit Against Him & Boosie Badazz

His star has continued to rise ever since he landed a Drake feature on “You’re Mines Still,” but a producer is taking Yung Bleu to court along with Boosie Badazz. Before blowing up in the industry. Bleu signed a deal with Boosie’s Bad Azz Music Syndicate, and according to a producer named Ice Starr, both artists owe him money for Bleu’s song, “Miss It.”

According to TMZ, Starr claims that his grievances with Yung Bleu date all the way back to 2017.

Starr reportedly describes himself as a producer who works with rappers creating “compositions and recordings” for artists “to use on a licensing basis.” However, Starr says for years Bleu has been using his tracks “without his knowledge, authorization, and without any compensation whatsoever.” This includes “Miss It” and another of Bleu’s successful songs, “Ice On My Baby,” as well as “most of Yung Bleu’s ‘Investment 5’ album.”

The producer’s rift with Boosie stems from Starr reportedly signing his rights to the production of “Miss It” after the song had already been released. According to Starr, the song was dropped without his knowledge and he’s suing both Bleu and Boosie for copyright infringement. He wants a court to award him a portion of the royalties, however, Bleu said he’s already been compensated.

In a statement to TheShadeRoom, but denies Ice Starr’s allegations.

“He [Ice] got paid for all the beats he did on that project,” Bleu told the outlet. “We were on the come up together. He was an unknown producer. The songs just happened to blow up after he sold his rights… He sold his rights to my manager, Taquari (Boosie’s brother), for $1,500. He didn’t know it was gonna blow up.”

Boosie has yet to respond to the allegations.

Dennis Schroder Takes Lakers Out Of His IG Bio, Fans React

Dennis Schroder was supposed to be a huge addition for the Los Angeles Lakers this year. With Rajon Rondo going elsewhere, the Lakers need an adequate point guard and Schroder was set to be that man. Unfortunately, it became clear from the start that he didn’t like his role in Los Angeles and wanted a lot more. At times, he made his displeasure be known, and prior to the playoffs, he even ratted out LeBron James for not taking the vaccine.

Just a couple of nights ago, Schroder put up an abysmal performance in Game 5 against the Phoenix Suns, as he scored a whopping zero points. The Lakers were blown out by 30 in the game, and now, the Lakers are set to take on the Suns tonight in a do-or-die scenario. Shockingly, just hours before tip-off, Schroder has preemptively taken the Lakers out of his bio on Instagram.

This was immediately clocked by Lakers fans who are always doing dome digging prior to games. As you can imagine, many fans took this as the ultimate sign of disrespect, and the Schroder slander has already begun. Even Max Kellerman got in on the fun as he stated that Schroder hasn’t been a factor anyway.

With the Lakers set to hit the court in just a few hours, this will certainly spark a conversation in the locker room.

Ja Morant’s Father Shows Love To Donovan Mitchell & The Jazz

During the early stages of the series between the Utah Jazz and the Memphis Grizzlies, some Jazz fans taunted Ja Morant’s family and even used racial slurs while his family was in the stands. Three fans were caught in the aftermath, and they were all banned from the arena. Following this unfortunate incident, the Jazz issued an apology to Morant’s family and even offered them free courtside seats, as well as lodging in Salt Lake City.

While most of Morant’s family declined the offer, Ja’s father Tee made sure to attend Game 5, where the Jazz eventually ended the series. Following the game, Tee Morant went up to Jazz star Donovan Mitchell and thanked him for his team’s treatment of the Morant family following the fan incident. In fact, Tee even said that he hopes the Jazz go on to win it all.

“Hey yo, I’m going for y’all right now,” Morant said. Y’all didn’t have to show love to us like that. This is what I’m saying: When s— goes bad and then you reach out, that’s how you bridge the gap. Most people don’t realize that. That’s why I appreciate you, and that’s why I hope the Jazz win the championship.”

While speaking to reporters after the game, Mitchell explained just how much Tee’s support means to him and the team, moving forward. “For me, it was just the ultimate sign of respect,” Mitchell said. “You see him talking about the way he handled it, the way we went about it. For me, that’s just how you approach it. Things are going to happen, and you’ve got to show a side of gratitude — bridging that gap, like he said.”

Now, the Jazz are waiting for the winner of the series between the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Clippers. No matter what, this will be a tough test for the Jazz, who are looking like favorites to come out of the West.

Yung Kayo Is “Not In The Mood” On His Latest Single

Since the release of the highly anticipated and long-awaited release of Slime Language 2, Young Thug’s YSL record label has brought some of the most captivating and intriguing young artists to the forefront of the music industry. Having appeared on “Proud Of You” alongside Lil Uzi Vert and Young Thug, YSL artist Yung Kayo seems poised to make a big impression this year.

Last Friday, the rising artist shared the abrasive and chaotic single “bstroy stocks,” and less than a week later, Yung Kayo has already treated listeners with another new track.

In a complete 180 from his recently released single “bstroy” socks, “not in the mood” is a smooth and bubbly track that’s bolstered by a simple, yet catchy hook. According to Genius, the song initially gained popularity on Triller, which makes sense given the song’s fun and carefree vibe.

Listen to Yung Kayo‘s “not in the mood” below and let us know if you’re feeling it.

Quotable Lyrics

Told her I’m not in the mood, no, I’m not in the mood
Told her I’m not in the mood, no, I’m not in the mood
She wanna fuck on the crew, I told her do what she do
Try me, you making the news, in the Wraith, I’m not in the mood

Floyd Mayweather & Logan Paul Link Up For Epic Stare-Down

Excitement is flowing through the air in Miami as Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul are set to fight against each other on Sunday. Coming into this match, pretty well everyone has picked Floyd to be the winner, as he is simply too much of a legend to lose against someone like Logan Paul. Regardless, this fight is going to make a lot of money, and the fanfare surrounding it is going to be a whole lot of fun. The actual boxing might not be spectacular, but the actual event could very well prove to be worth the price of admission, and then some.

Just four days before the fight, Logan and Floyd met up with each other for the ceremonial stare-down, in which each fighter gets just a little too close to each other. As you can see in the clip below, Floyd and Logan held their stares for quite a long time, and it seemed as though Mayweather had no interest in smack talk, although Paul had other plans.

Needless to say, both of these men are locked in prior to their fight on Sunday, and it should be interesting to see how things play out. Even if Logan doesn’t have much of a chance, it would be compelling to see just how long he can stretch the fight out.

Give us your thoughts on the fight, in the comments below. Will you be watching?

Polo G’s ‘Hall Of Fame’ Tracklist Includes Features From Nicki Minaj And Pop Smoke

There is perhaps no greater sign of a rising artist’s impending superstardom than their album tracklist. After releasing two well-received albums in back-to-back years with relatively few big-name co-signs, it looks like Windy City upstart Polo G will finally arrive at that coveted echelon with the release of his third album, Hall Of Fame. He released the tracklist today, and it’s got some real doozies on it.

While his 2019 debut Die A Legend and its 2020 follow-up The Goat certainly didn’t lack for star power — the first included an appearance from Lil Baby and Gunna just months after their joint mixtape Drip Harder launched a veritable mania for the two Atlantans and the latter had a posthumous Juice WRLD appearance — Hall Of Fame sees Polo attracting the sort of names that get the big font on festival flyers. Those names include DaBaby Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Pop Smoke, and Young Thug, while fellow Chicagoans G Herbo and Lil Durk and fellow XXL Freshmen Fivio Foreign, Rod Wave, and Roddy Ricch also look to contribute. With such a star-studded cast in the wings, the anticipation for Polo’s latest is higher than it’s ever been; thank goodness we only have to wait a week to hear it.

Hall Of Fame is due 6/11 via Columbia Records. See the full tracklist below. Pre-save it on Apple Music and Spotify here.

Stephen A. Smith Wants Black Players To Speak Up In Light Of Brad Stevens Promotion

Over the years, there has been a steady discourse about black head coaches in the NBA and how some candidates are passed up for less qualified white ones. This has been especially true when it comes to executive roles, which are predominantly occupied by white men. Perhaps the most egregious example of these biases occurred this past week as Brad Stevens was promoted from his role as Celtics head coach. Now, he will be replacing Danny Ainge as president of basketball operations, despite a lack of results as head coach.

Stephen A. Smith was angered by the news, and yesterday on First Take, he let his displeasure be known as he delivered a passionate monologue on the matter. In fact, Smith called on black players to voice their concerns about this trend. As Smith explained, he feels as though black players speak up about social issues, however, when it comes to their own teams, they remain quiet. Smith even touched on the George Floyd protests and how the players were so vocal during the summer.

“We’re supposed to be awake. And we understand the knee on (George) Floyd’s neck wasn’t just about police brutality but the figurative semblance it provided where you’re feeling like constantly people have their knees on our neck since the time you come out of the womb,” Stephen A. said. Smith eventually walked off the set following his comments, as he was frustrated by the Stevens announcement.

As it stands, this is a systemic issue throughout the NBA, and much like the NFL, it is going to take a very long time before things become more equitable. However, to Smith’s point, if the players speak up, that change could very well come sooner rather than later.
