Cardi B Returns To IG With Sultry Promo For New Migos Collab

Cardi B is currently gearing up to release her highly-anticipated sophomore album. She’s unleashed two singles from the project, “WAP” and “Up,” both of which have gone on to become smash hits, imitating the success of her debut Invasion of Privacy era. As she readies the full rollout, in the meantime, she’s been lending her vocals to various different artists.

In April, she appeared on DJ Khaled’s album KHALED KHALED on the third track, “Big Paper.” Most recently, she reunited with Migos again on their latest LP Culture III for the cut “Type Sh*t.” She made a return to Instagram to offer promotional support to her hubby and his crew, sharing a sultry video of herself vibing to the track.

“TYPE SH*T !!!CULTURE 3 out now ! Link in bio,” penned the “Up” artist in the caption of the promotional clip. In the video, she changes between two looks as she raps the lyrics to her verse on the song. In one look, the Bronx native rocks a curly updo hairstyle with black shades and an abundance of silver chains. She wears a black leotard to complete the look, complementing it with black nails.

For the other look, she rocks a matching blue Marine Serre set paired with two Birkin bags. She switches her nail color to a blue and pink pattern for the second look in the promotional clip.

The post marks Cardi’s first post of herself on the app since April. Along with the new video, she shared two different photos of Migos’ Culture III album art, encouraging her 95 million followers to tune in.

As for Cardi, her sophomore effort is expected to arrive sometime this year. Check out her sultry promotional video below.

LeBron James & Wife Savannah Try Out Dwyane Wade’s New Game

Dwyane Wade has been doing a lot during his retirement and moving forward, it looks like he will be a game show host. The show in question is called “The Cube” and it set to premiere soon on TBS. It remains to be seen what kind of game show this will be, however, it appears as though the show now has its very own table-top party game which is being circulated amongst Wade’s friends.

For instance, LeBron James and his wife Savannah recently received a demo version of the game which they can be seen playing in the clip below. The object of the game is to fit as many balls into the cube as possible before the time runs out. Each ball has to be placed through a small hole which means precision is a definite must. Whoever gets the most balls in the cube, ends up winning the round.

While the game is fairly simple in nature, LeBron and Savannah seemingly had a whole lot of fun playing it. Wade is a very close personal friend of theirs and we wonder if there is potential for the couple to be contestants on the new show, once it officially airs.

This new show is based on a British game show of the same name, and it seems like Wade is in for a whole lot of fun in his new venture.

Haviah Mighty & Yizzy Drop A Drill Anthem With “Protest”

Haviah Mighty has never failed to stand out from the rest of the Canadian rap game. Her 2017 debut album, Flower City, found her embracing loud, bodacious, and aggressive trap sounds. Her sophomore record 13th Floor was much more introspective, lyrically charged, and racially aware. With her new release “Protest”, featuring UK drill rapper Yizzy, shows Haviah Mighty reinventing her sound once again, though now continuing to focus on the themes that lyrically dominated 13th Floor

“Protest” is driven by a simple, yet cold drill beat with a whopping 808 that glides through intermittent high-hat taps. Haviah Mighty moves seamlessly between an infectious whisper-like flow and casual flows that border just talking. With these inflections, she founds intimate throughout the track. When Yizzy comes in on the second leg of the track, his booming voice is contrasted heavily with Haviah Mighty’s and he effectively stands out as well.

Lyrically, the track centers around Black trauma — whether it be the experiences of Haviah Mighty in Canada or Yizzy in the UK. Haviah Mighty’s hook details a police pat-down while she encourages others to protest for Black empowerment.

Wanna check out the track? Listen and watch the video below!

Quotable Lyrics:
I got the over the shoulder look pat down
A me dat the boi wan track down
Whole squad pulled up so they ran down
Locked door, so the door get ram down
They inside so my heart just sank down
Bright ass lights when they scan down
Warn my boy so I flag down

Adult Film Star Dies Weeks After Photoshoot At George Floyd Mural

Adult film actress Dakota Skye, real name Lauren Scott, was found dead at a motorhome near LA on Wednesday. Though the cause of death is unknown, her family has stated that she had serious substance abuse issues, specifically with alcohol and the more dangerous fentanyl. Scott was only 27.

Scott was targeted on the internet last month after she posed topless at a George Floyd mural in Santa Barbara with the caption, “Happy #GeorgeFloyd day in #santabarbara <3 #dakotaskye equality&fair treatment for all. Dope mural.” Fans and Instagrammers came at the adult film actress for the post, labeling it insensitive and offensive. Scott, who felt that the post was misinterpreted, responded to the post, writing, “I’m celebrating BAD cops being checked with abusing their authority against human beings .. hello. No human being should die getting arrested.”

Scott’s aunt, Linda Arden, spoke to the U.S. Sun about the death of her niece. “Her real-life story, and how she came to be in that industry, has truly been a tragedy. She died almost exactly two years after her mother, my baby sister’s, death which was caused by addiction and alcoholism.” Her aunt then went on to describe the trauma that led Scott down this path. “Lauren was a product of a highly dysfunctional family involving drugs, alcohol, physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse.”

Though Scott led a tormented life, her aunt is glad that she may have finally found peace. “She no longer has to walk through this world in pain in her own prison and that gives me comfort to know she no longer has to fight the voices and images that haunted her,” Arden said.

Rest In Peace, Lauren Scott (AKA Dakota Skye).

Aaron Gordon Roasted Online After Horrible Game 3 Stat Line

Without Jamal Murray in the lineup, the Denver Nuggets have been struggling quite a bit against the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the playoffs. After a loss last night, the Nuggets are now down 3-0 in the series and it seems unlikely that they will be able to come back. NBA MVP Nikola Jokic has certainly been doing his part throughout the series, and last night, he dropped 32 points all while adding 20 rebounds and 10 assists.

Unfortunately, the Nuggets’ supporting cast has been less than stellar, and this includes Aaron Gordon who forced a trade out of Orlando just a few months ago. Gordon was expected to be a huge addition to the Nuggets although as we saw last night, he largely struggled, and hasn’t lived up to the expectations. He finished the game with just four points, and four rebounds in 36 minutes of play.

Gordon’s performance drew a lot of attention on social media and in pure NBA Twitter fashion, there were plenty of jokes to go around as fans dropped memes poking fun at Gordon’s lack of production. If you’re a Nuggets fan, it is easy to see why you would be so frustrated especially when Jokic is carrying the entire roster on his back right now.

The team traded away some good pieces to get Gordon and when it comes to this year’s playoffs, he has been somewhat of a bust. Perhaps in Game 4, he will be able to change things around for the better.

Kodak Black Honored With His Own Day In Florida

Kodak Black celebrated his 24th birthday over the weekend. In true Kodak fashion, the celebrations were just as colorful as his character. After being pardoned by former POTUS Trump, Kodak had a lot to prove for this year’s born-day festivities. The Florida rapper kicked off the momentous occasion with the Happy Birthday Kodak, a four-track EP featuring the likes of Yo Gotti, Jacquees, and more.

He also debuted a brand new custom purple and gold Kobe Bryant-inspired Tesla truck. In addition, he decided to give and not only receive for his birthday, gifting some custom jewelry to Cardi B. To top off his birthday, Kodak was honored with his very own day in Broward Couty, Florida.

As reported by TMZ, Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness presented the Pompano Beach rapper with the proclamation declaring June 11th as Kodak Black Day. He bestowed the honorary day to Kodak on Friday (June 10) at a charity basketball game in Coral Springs. Kodak, clearly moved by the honor, noted the proclamation meant more to him than a platinum album.

Listed on the proclamation are various instances of his charitable work and personal accomplishments he achieved over the last few years. As you may recall, Kodak was granted clemency by then-President Trump in large part because of his charity work.

Among the selfless acts Kodak has done, he’s donated a years worth of diapers, underwear, and socks to the Jack & Jill Children’s Center. He’s also donated thousands to community groups helping provide 1,000 turkeys to people in need, as well as dishing out over $20k for toys and other Christmas presents

Only time will tell how Kodak will go about celebrating Kodak Black Day next year.

Polo G Arrested In Miami After “Hall Of Fame” Release Party: Report

What should’ve been a night to celebrate the result of hard work, persistence, and success with the release of Hall Of Fame turned into a terrifying run-in with the law for Polo G. According to Miami Herald, Polo G was arrested and charged on Saturday morning. Miami PD booked the Chicago-born rapper on five charges including battery against a police officer, resisting arrest with violence, and criminal mischief. Jail records indicate that the rapper is currently being held on a $19,500 bond.

“The Miami Police Department is aware of the incident involving Mr. Taurus Bartlett, also known as Polo G,  and another male juvenile. We will provide updates as they become available,” police tweeted following a flood of comments they received on social media calling for Polo G’s freedom.

Though information regarding the particular incident hasn’t been made widely available yet, Polo G’s mother, Stacia Mac, was the first to bring the situation to the public’s awareness. Polo G’s mom took to Instagram Live following the release party where she revealed that nearly 20 cop cars pulled over the rapper along with his minor brother and girlfriend.

“All of this is because my son, Polo G, in a licensed vehicle with fucking security and a driver, okay? He wasn’t even the person driving. Do you know how scary that is? And then when I go to approach them to ask them about my children, and namely my minor son who’s 16, they tell us if we don’t leave, that they gon’ lock us the fuck up,” she said, demanding fans to spam the Miami PD’s pages to release her children. She added that they didn’t allow her to speak to her 16-year-old son.

“They have Polo G. They have TBaby and I am not having it. My children will not be a casualty. I have raised my children right. They are respectful people and we are celebrating the success and this is how it ends? Not on my watch. Not on my watch and not today,” she continued. “If my children were stopped by the police and they were any other color, I know they’d get a pat on the head and a slap on the ass and they’ll be okay. But because they are Black men, they villainize our color, they villainize our wealth. They villainize everything about us. Everything. And it’s ridiculous.”

Are The 2021 Nets More Overpowered Than The 2017 Warriors?

In the summer of 2016, Kevin Durant had a very important decision to make. As a free agent, he had a plethora of options available to him, including the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Boston Celtics, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Golden State Warriors. After coming off of a 73-9 season, no one ever suspected that KD would want to join what was already being considered as a superteam. Well, in the end, Durant went with the most shocking option and his Warriors-inspired Players Tribune cover became the stuff of meme legend.

From that moment on, the Warriors became an unstoppable monster that boasted four of the best players in the entire NBA: Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. In three seasons together, the Warriors won two straight championships and made it to a third Finals. Had it not been for injuries to Thompson and Durant, it’s safe to say that they would have won three in a row.

Regardless, their time together was special, filled with the kind of offensive basketball one could only dream about. The Warriors were draining threes at a stupendous rate all while opposing teams couldn’t dare to keep up. When KD won his championships, he defeated the Cavs in 5 in 2017 and then beat them again in 4 in 2018. It goes to show that the team was way too overpowered for its own good, and the league ultimately paid a price for it.

Brooklyn Nets

Now, KD finds himself in a similar position, this time on the Brooklyn Nets. When it was revealed in 2019 that KD and Kyrie Irving would be teaming up in Brooklyn, it seemed obvious that the franchise would immediately become championship contenders. After all, KD is one of the league’s most effective offensive players, while Kyrie Irving has some of the best handles of his generation. He is godly at the Point Guard position and while his time in Boston was disappointing, there was no doubt that he would reach a new level alongside a similarly motivated superstar.

At the start of the season, Irving and KD were a dynamic duo that had chemistry right out of the gate. In fact, it seemed like the two had played their whole lives together. Just a few games into the season, it was clear that the Nets were championship favorites, and fans were ready to see them shine over 72 games. That’s when James Harden showed up. The former MVP was able to get himself out of Houston and on a plane to Brooklyn, where he turned the Nets into an overpowered superteam virtually overnight. Much like KD, Harden is believed to be one of the best offensive players that the league has ever seen, so it’s no surprise that his addition to the Nets came as a shock to fans and teams alike.

Throughout the course of the season, the Nets big three experienced numerous injuries which put a hold on any semblance of chemistry. Instead, the Nets had to work with what they had available, which was already pretty damn good. In the end, the Nets finished the regular season in second place in the Eastern Conference, and are currently up 2-1 against the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs. With the way the Nets are playing, it almost seems like a foregone conclusion that they are going to win the championship, and it has brought up the debate as to whether or not this current Nets team could beat the 2017 Warriors in a seven-game series.

Warriors

Starting with the big three, you have Curry, KD, and Thompson up against Kyrie, KD, and Harden. Right away, comparing these two sets of players is almost an impossible task. Of course, KD cancels himself out on each roster, leaving us comparing Curry and Thompson to Kyrie and Harden. While Curry is easily the strongest player from an overall point of view, one could make the argument that Harden is second, Kyrie is third, and Thompson is fourth. Much like Curry, Thompson is one of the best shooters in the NBA, although his game lives and dies by the jump shot. If wide-open looks are taken away, Klay is rendered way less effective.

Meanwhile, Harden and Kyrie are much more versatile while out on the court, which ends up giving them an edge if Curry and Thompson start to go cold from beyond the arc. Not to mention, in just one season in Brooklyn, it looks like KD’s chemistry with Kyrie and Harden is ahead of what it was with Curry and Thompson. While he certainly made things work in Golden State, it feels like the flow of the game is much more natural with his Nets teammates. With this in mind, the Nets get a slight nod when it comes to the big three aspect.

Nets

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images

As for the rest of the roster, it’s hard to bet against the Warriors and their depth. That 2017 roster had Green, Shaun Livingston, JaVale McGee, Andre Iguodala, Matt Barnes, and even Zaza Pachulia who was known for his aggressive style of play. The Warriors had a solid cast of bench players who not only added scoring to the team but a healthy dose of size as well. These are all players who had a ton of experience at the time, and they knew how to seize up opposing teams on the defensive end.

When comparing this to the Nets roster, you can see how the Warriors would have an immediate edge. While Blake Griffin and Joe Harris are solid options, their point totals are incredibly inconsistent and on any given night, you’re not sure what you’re going to get from them. The same can be said about players like Bruce Brown and Mike James who will have solid games here and there, but rarely keep those numbers up consistently. Needless to say, if you need a bench unit to win you the game, you would probably want to go with the Warriors — although it would certainly be close, most likely coming down to whoever gets the last stop on defense.

If you were to clone KD and have these two rosters go up against each other, the ensuing seven-game series would be a whole lot of fun. In fact, it’s safe to say that it would even go the distance. With Curry and Thompson’s three-point mastery and the Nets’ chemistry, the matchup would turn into an offensive grudge match that would have more back and forth moments than a game of pong. Having seen the splash brothers in action, it is truly difficult to bet against them and when they’re hot, they are easily the best backcourt in NBA history. Even with the Nets’ depth of firepower, KD, Thompson, and Curry would still prove to be almost impossible to knock off. Having said all of that, the 2017 Warriors remain the better team, however, that isn’t to say it’s not close. Realistically, it could go either way — although the Warriors’ resume speaks for itself.

Which roster do you think is better? Let us know, in the comments below.

Deandre Ayton Expresses Bewilderment Over Nikola Jokic’s Stat Line

With Jamal Murray out of the Denver Nuggets lineup, the team has been carried by the likes of Nikola Jokic who recently received NBA MVP honors. Jokic has been nothing short of dominant and if you’ve watched Denver throughout the postseason, then you would quickly realize that the team overachieved in the regular season, and it is all thanks to Jokic’s efforts.

As it stands, the Nuggets are down 3-0 to the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the playoffs. They lost yet again last night although Jokic had a truly incredible showing. The MVP scored 32 points all while grabbing 20 rebounds and 10 assists. Suns players were mesmerized by his performance, including Deandre Ayton, who seemed shocked by the stat line.

In fact, Ayton noted that Jokic’s MVP award was well-deserved and that stats like that are why his team has been able to remain competitive. This is high praise when you consider how Ayton’s teammate Chris Paul was one of the other players who was highly considered for the MVP trophy. Some Suns fans even think Paul was robbed although, at this point, it’s hard to argue against Jokic’s contributions to the team.

Regardless, the Suns look incredible right now and it seems like they are on a collision course to a Western Conference Finals appearance against the Utah Jazz.
