6ix9ine Lashes Out At BRS Kash Over “King Of New York” Question

These days, it seems as if everyone is trading words with Tekashi 6ix9ine. After months of silence, the controversial rapper returned to social media, once again attacking any foe who is brazen enough to engage in his often vicious trolling. We’ve witnessed Meek Mill, Lil Reese, and 600 Breezy go back and forth with the New York rapper, and while 6ix9ine took aim at Lil Durk, the Chicago artist refused to engage. After 6ix9ine shared the story of his weight loss journey, BRS Kash had a question for him that wasn’t received well and now, there’s another rapper’s name on the growing list of 6ix9ine detractors.

“The King Of New York Tho?” the “Throat Baby” rapper asked. 6ix9ine replied, “@brskash You are a one hit wonder, please take a seat.” Kash wasn’t fazed and continued, “So U Tellin Me You Over Biggie An Jay Z Is My Question?” The conversation was shared by The Shade Room, and both men weren’t finished with the exchange.

“Everybody tough on the internet … ya make an excuse for every rapper .. I been talking crazy to everybody since 2018 still untouched,” 6ix9ine commented. “Ya gon say ‘ you hide behind security ‘ but if something happens to me YALL gon say ‘ AS THEY SHOULD!’ Lol make up ya mind miserable people.”

BRS Kash clarified that he didn’t set out to beef with anyone, he truly wanted to know if 6ix9ine believes he’s bigger and better than Hip Hop and Rap legends. “A Question Is A Question It’s None To Be Mad Or Beef Over If It Offended You [shrug emoji,” wrote Kash. “Askin A Question Not Being Tough.” Did 6ix9ine overreact? Check out the exchange below.

50 Cent Welcomes Bobby Shmurda Home

Bobby Shmurda is back home and though it’s been six years since we’ve seen or really heard from him, he seems to be in good spirits, reciprocating the same type of excitement his fans have for his release. Everyone’s been excited about his release. Even Norm Kelly, the Toronto City Councillor who went viral over his tweets, returned to the social media platform for the first time since 2019 to welcome Bobby backEveryone is excited

If a 79-year-old politician from Toronto is ecstatic over Bobby’s release, you can only imagine how New York City’s feeling right now. Over the past few years, the debate of the King Of New York has been quite prominent in East Coast hip-hop circles. Most would claim it to be Jay-Z or Biggie Smalls but in a modern era, Bobby’s probably the only one fit for the throne.

50 Cent took to Instagram earlier today where he made sure to celebrate Bobby’s return with some shameless promotion of his own Branson Cognac which was apparently being served at Bobby’s welcome home bash. “IT’s SHMURDA TIME BOBBY’s HOME, YOU KNOW THE WHOLE CITY READY TO TURN UP,” 50 Cent wrote.

Perhaps, we’ll end up seeing Bobby and Rowdy make cameos in one of the many Power spin-offs that 50 Cent has lined up for the future. Check his post out below.

Icewear Vezzo & Babyface Ray Team Up On “Holiday”

Detroit’s Icewear Vezzo has teamed up with the buzzing voice of the city Babyface Ray for a blistering new banger titled, “Holiday.” The new record is a menacing and exhilarating track that Ray describes as “money counter music.” The two rappers talk their sh*t as they detail their expensive drug habits and the money they’ve acquired in their time in the rap game. Ray kicks things off before sliding it over to Vezzo who delivers a menacing verse.

Icewear Vezzo hasn’t wasted any time releasing new music since the year hit. The rapper kicked things off with the release of “Cheat Code” before following it up with “6Print.”

The bubbling Detroit rapper Babyface Ray recently released his latest project, Unfuckwitable

Check out their new collaboration below.

Quotable Lyrics
Just put a switchy on a .40, this bitch modernized
Take a Xanny, get the tweakin’ then I popped the guys
Might fuck around and write a book and call it ‘How To Rob’
My youngin’ wild, he gotta snort a line just to calm him down

Bobby Shmurda Praises Quavo For Being A Solid Friend During His Incarceration

Yesterday was a huge day in the world of music. Bobby Shmurda finally came home. For six whole years, the rapper’s been locked up as the fans and the streets kept his name alive. He was welcomed back home to a shower of praise on the Internet, specifically from his comrades in the music industry. It was Quavo who kept his word and personally picked up Shmurda on a private jet. As the two linked up and counted cash for the camera, Bobby made sure to give Quavo his flowers for his loyalty.

“Come here, come here,” said Bobby as he waved down Quavo. “Do your thing, it’s your time,” Quavo responds but Bobby is persistent. “Come here. My brother right here. Man, he ain’t never switch up, the whole 6 years,” continued Bobby.

It’s unclear whether Bobby has been back in the studio since he was released from prison but it seems like the ShMigo project could be on its way soon. Towards the tail end of 2019, Quavo tweeted that he spoke to Shmurda and hinted towards a release in 2020. Evidently, that didn’t happen but he did add “SHMIGO ALERT” in the tweet so it seems like there are still discussions about the project.

We’re excited to see what Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel get up to now that they’re both out.

French Montana Announces CJ’s “Whoopty” Remix With Rowdy Rebel

CJ is fresh off of the release of his latest project, Loyalty Over Royalty which includes his breakout hit, “Whoopty.” The song’s generated a lot of buzz and certainly, just as much controversy as he faces criticism over his credibility. However, he’s continued to keep his head down and grind it out, especially with French Montana backing him.

The Coke Boys CEO took to Instagram earlier today where he gave Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel a welcome home shout-out with the announcement of the “Whoopty” remix. French is featured on the record but so is Rowdy Rebel, putting his stamp of approval on one of the most commercially successful drill songs in recent times.

“YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS WHEN YOU HEAR THAT haannnnn WELCOME HOME @realbobbyshmurdags9 @rowdyrebel. my guys,” French shared to his IG page along with some BTS footage of Rowdy Rebel, CJ, and French Montana in the studio cooking up. It’s unclear whether they’re hitting that Bobby Shmurda is also on the remix. “I want everybody to go tell @funkmasterflex to drop this FOR THE CITY,” French added.

During a recent interview with HNHH, CJ explained that French Montana has provided him tons of guidance since entering the rap game, teasing a few collaborations in the cut.

“I’m seven months in the game. He’s been in the game for a little while. He knows the ins-and-outs of this industry. He just wanted to guide me in the right direction and help me with this project,” he said.

Travis Scott Is Focused On Becoming A Better Person

Travis Scott’s fame has astronomically risen over the last couple of years, and as a result, fans have seen the Houston artist transform into an A-list celebrity right before their eyes. Following a year that saw Cactus Jack collaborating with brands such as McDonald’s and PlayStation, 2021 is still an incredibly packed year for the Astroworld emcee. He’s got a spiked seltzer set to release in March, and he also appears to be gearing up to release Utopia, his next studio album.

With all of the hype surrounding his long-awaited follow-up to Astroworld, many would probably expect Travis’ focus to be on making the best music that he possibly can, but according to the “Franchise” artist, one of his main focuses at the moment is simply becoming a better human being.

In a tweet from yesterday afternoon, La Flame revealed that in addition to locking himself in the studio, he’s also locking in on himself.

“Locking in on myself to become a better person for others next to me,” Travis wrote, giving fans an idea of where he’s currently at mentally. The revelation is an interesting admission from the Houston rapper, but considering his massive rise in popularity, it’s not unheard of for artists of his stature to take some time to re-ground themselves. Whether this means a potential delay for Utopia is yet to be seen, but fans can probably just expect more flicks of Travis hanging out with his daughter Stormi and possibly spending more time with his ex Kylie Jenner.

Are you glad to see that Travis Scott is taking some time to become a better person?

Lil Wayne Issues A Much-Needed Reminder

It’s an era where damn near every single thing is documented on social media, at least to some degree. In some cases, some people actively threaten one another on Instagram Live, while others are quick to flash weaponry or broadcast illicit activity. It’s gotten to the point where OGs like Ice-T have actively advised youngsters on the value of avoiding the dry-snitch altogether.  Now, Lil Wayne has come through to issue a similar reminder, drawing on one of his own iconic bars to drive the point home.

“Real G’z move in silence like….” writes Tunechi, his statement feeling profound given all of the antics transpiring across social media. And while he didn’t specify a catalyst behind his reminder, many were quick to draw their own conclusions. After all, Weezy’s legendary bar from “6 Foot 7 Foot” has remained an unwaveringly relevant piece of advice, despite the fact that only a select few seem to adhere to it. In addition to the weight it carries, it’s also a testament to Wayne’s penmanship; which other artists are able to espouse their philosophies in such a clever punchline?

Check out Wayne’s simple tweet below, one that invites viewers to read between the lines. Insofar as enduring lines are concerned, do you think “Lasagna” deserves to join the likes of Mobb Deep’s “Ain’t no such thing as halfway crooks” and Wu-Tang’s “Cash rules everything around me” in the defining rap principles of history?

Young Thug, Gunna & Other YSL Artists Get Matching “Slatt” Tattoos

Atlanta has no shortage of beloved Hip-Hop record labels, from the massive Coach K and Pierre “Pee” Thomas-led Quality Control Music to Lil Baby’s burgeoning 4PF label. All of the various camps are well-known for their unique sounds and iconic chains, and one Atlanta record label that has made a major impact on the music industry is Young Stoner Life Records, more commonly referred to as YSL Records.

Led by Young Thug, YSL’s roster includes Gunna, Lil Keed, Lil Duke, Yak Gotti, Strick, and a bevy of other artists. In the years since its inception, the label has earned mainstream and underground success, and now it has been revealed that several YSL artists have commemorated the team’s accomplishments with new matching ink.

According to Complex, Young Thug, Gunna, and several other YSL artists have gotten matching “slatt” tattoos on their fingers. Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Dennis Estrada is the man behind the ink, and he revealed that producer Wheezy has gotten the YSL Records lingo tatted on him as well.

Hopefully, these new matching “slatt” tattoos are an indication that Slime Language 2 and a bunch of other highly anticipated YSL releases will be arriving sooner than later. Young Thug recently teased a new album with a picture of his new ink, so fans will have to wait and see what YSL Records has in store.
