Beyonce’s Alleged New Orleans Mansion Caught Fire: Report

A historic mansion in New Orleans that is reportedly owned by singer Beyoncé caught fire on Wednesday night. Local news outlets have tied the property to the Carters, dating back to 2015, though it has never been publicly confirmed by either. A cause for the fire has not been determined yet, but it lasted for about two hours and 15 minutes during the evening time. About 22 firefighters reported to take on and extinguish the fire, according to a New Orleans Fire Department spokesperson.

“If they didn’t get there when they did, it could have been much worse. It’s a historic home,” a spokesperson told The New York Post.

The spokesperson also added that there were no injuries and evacuations, indicating that the property was empty at the time when it caught on fire. It was contained by about 7 p.m. but fully extinguished by 8:30 p.m., and it only ever rose to a one-alarm fire status, meaning it was never truly in danger of destroying the entire property.

The six-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom home is assessed at more than $2.4 million, but according to city records, it transferred hands in 2015 for a final recorded price of $100. Previously, it was listed on the market for $2.5 million in 2013 by its previous owner, Sandra C. McNamara. The home was built in 1927 as the Westminster Presbyterian church, and the entire building tallies at 15,200 square feet.

A 2015 report from Curbed NOLA tied the Carters to the Garden District mansion through public records. The property was sold to Sugarcane Park LLC in 2015, which, through a search of the Louisiana Secretary of State website, connected the LLC to a mailing address for Parkwood Entertainment LLC, Beyoncé’s management company. The Carters have been around New Orleans on and off for many years, as sister Solange Knowles is a part-time resident and a co-owner of a boutique in the French Quarter. Beyoncé also famously headlined the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show at the Superdome in New Orleans.

It was a somber week for the loved ones of Frankie Lons after it was shared that she passed away on her 61st birthday. Rolling Loud Miami Suffers Setback After Stage Partially Collapses: Report

Hip Hop fans are just one day away from enjoying Rolling Loud Miami in all its glory, but the festival has been hit with a few setbacks. Earlier today (July 22), one of its performers, Fredo Bang, was arrested in Miami on charges stemming from his home state of Louisiana, and later, it was shared that this morning, one of their stages at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens was destroyed.

Local news station WPLG reported that a giant video wall structure fell, causing a portion of the stage to collapse.

In video images and aerial footage, workers are seen frantically attempting to cover the chaos with a large tarp. Ticketholders flooded social media with their concerns as to whether or not the festival would continue on schedule. After going viral, Rolling Loud Miami took to their Twitter account to address the controversy.

“In case you see it on the news, a screen fell down at one of our stages,” they wrote. “Nobody was hurt and it will be fixed before doors open tomorrow. The show goes on!” This weekend marks Rolling Loud Miami’s return after delaying the festival due to the COVID-19 quarantine last year. Check out a video of the destruction of the stage below.

Nicki Minaj Reflects On Shaq’s Funny Freestyle Proposal On “Inside The NBA”

It was a hilarious walk down memory lane today after Nicki Minaj treated fans to a 2014 moment that is still a major moment for her and her dedicated Barbz. Back in 2014, Nicki visited Inside the NBA where the crew of sports analysts held a cypher for the celebrated emcee. Host Shaquille O’Neal has been known to dabble a bit in the Rap industry, so after Nicki delivered her off-the-dome freestyle, O’Neal grabbed the mic to share a few bars.

Almost immediately, one of Shaq’s lines was asking Nicki to marry him, and when she said, “No,” everyone fell out in laughter. Nicki posted a clip of the moment and gave a little behind-the-scenes insight while revealing that she recently purchased Shaq’s chair for her engineer.

Lakers Makes Their First Move Of The Offseason

This past season was an extremely difficult one for the Los Angeles Lakers. While the team had a tremendous start to the season, things quickly went downhill as both Anthony Davis and LeBron James faced injuries near the playoffs. While the team eventually made it to the playoffs, the Lakers were still forced into the seventh seed in the Western Conference, and the Phoenix Suns proved to be too strong of a first-round matchup.

Since that time, LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been working hard to get healthy, and it seems as though they will be right on track to start the next season. In the meantime, the Lakers are looking to make some big moves, and today, they made their first offer of the offseason.

According to Michael Corvo of ClutchPoints, Talen Horton-Tucker has just been given his qualifying offer from the Lakers. This means the 20-year-old is now a restricted free agent who can negotiate with other teams. At this juncture, the Lakers can offer him the best deal over the next two years, however, a team can theoretically swoop in and offer him a deal that would be worth more than $10 million per year in years 3 and 4.

There is no telling whether or not this will happen, however, the Lakers would certainly like to hold onto their young star at a smaller cost. THT is a player with a ton of potential and if he gets more minutes this season, we could very well see him elevate his game.

Roddy Ricch Co-Signs Akademiks About Artists Choosing To Be “Gangstas Or Rappers”

We’ve all bore witness to the rising reports of rappers being arrested in recent years. Just as an artist is seen receiving their due after working hard to crawl their way out of the trenches, authorities detain them on charges spanning from weapons to assault to fraud to drug possession to racketeering to murder. Right now, there are dozens of rappers facing sentences that can not only end their careers but their freedoms.

Fredo Bang was excited to take to the Rolling Loud Miami stage this weekend, but news broke today (July 22) that the Lousiana star was arrested in Florida. While details regarding Fredo’s arrest are pending, Akademiks took to social media to issue a “warning” to rappers who teeter the fine line of the street and Rapstar lifestyles.

“Just a responsible warning to rappers.. u either gonna be a gangsta or a rapper,” wrote Akademiks. “There ain’t no famous criminal that are free and still doing crime. All the gangsta rappers who actually Still live the life they rap about after they got fame… been arrested and served time in the last 5 years. Pick one, Rapper or gangsta. Nobody is both.”

Roddy Ricch agreed with Akademiks’s take and added, “SMH too many young n*ggas [one hundred emojis] The realest sh*t u gone hear @akademiks.” The blogger reposted Roddy’s note and had a few more things to say about the subject.

“I only speak to ppl who are in the entertainment business who choose to be a rapper,” he said. “The stakes are different you gotta pick what is important to you and what u represent… This culture has given us a lot but it takes a lot too.gotta know how to balance it to make senSe.”
