Alex Caruso Pens A Fond Farewell To The Lakers

Over the last few years, Alex Caruso has blossomed into a cult hero amongst NBA circles. After playing in the G-League, Caruso was able to work his way up to the NBA where he thrived with the Los Angeles Lakers. Whenever he played on the court with LeBron James, Caruso showcased tremendous defense and his playmaking ability was quite good as well. While he was by no means a superstar, it was clear that he meant a lot to the team and its collective chemistry.

This past week, Caruso officially left the Lakers as he signed a four-year, $37 million deal with the Chicago Bulls. Now, Caruso will get to play with Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, and Zach LaVine who are expected to take this Bulls team to the playoffs next season. Despite leaving the franchise, Caruso is still grateful for the times he had in L.A., and on Instagram today, Caruso said thanks for all of the memories.

Per Caruso:

“Where to begin.. the past 4 years in LA have been nothing short of special. Allowing an undrafted kid from College Station, Texas to create a career playing basketball in the NBA. Thank you to the SBL and LAL front offices, all my SBL and LAL coaches, and all my teammates for believing in me and allowing me to be myself. I’ve been privileged to call this prestigious franchise my home and I’ll forever be grateful. Lastly, to the fans, THANK YOU! from the jump y’all appreciated my effort and love for the game ..I’m glad I could repay y’all with helping this franchise hoist another banner.”

Caruso got to win an NBA title with the Lakers and for many players, that is the ultimate dream. Even if Caruso never wins another title, he will always have that one ring from the NBA bubble. Regardless, Caruso has a huge opportunity ahead of him and it will be fun to see how he progresses as a player.

Russell Westbrook Unveils His Lakers Jersey

Russell Westbrook was one of the biggest stars to watch throughout the offseason as fans expected him to request a trade out of Washington. While such a request was never made public, fans ultimately heard about his displeasure in D.C. due to reports that he was going to be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers gave up Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Montrezl Harrell for Westbrook, which turned out to be a fantastic deal for the purple and gold.

Westbrook is friends with LeBron and it has been reported that both players have been discussing this move for quite a while. LeBron knew his Lakers needed a third superstar to round out the roster, and now, they have him.

With Westbrook arriving in Los Angeles, fans have been waiting to see his Lakers jersey. They have also been waiting to see if he would take the number 0 which had been worn by Kuzma over the past four years. As Westbrook revealed on his IG story today, he will be taking the number 0, and there is no doubt that his name looks good written out in Lakers purple.

If you are a Lakers fan, Westbrook’s jersey might prove to be a must-cop piece of attire, especially if he gets off to a hot start with the franchise. Some fans are worried about spacing, however, Westbrook, Davis, and LeBron all have the same goal which should be conducive to some great chemistry.

Megan Thee Stallion spoke about homophobia being addressed in the hip-hop community in a new interview, Friday. Megan says that it’s “about time” hateful rhetoric is addressed.

Megan’s comments come in the wake of DaBaby’s homophobic rant at Rolling Loud in Miami, last month.

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up,” he said, unprovoked, on stage. “Ladies, if your p–sy smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t s–king d*ck in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”

Following an online reckoning, DaBaby has since apologized for his “hurtful and triggering” comments.

Later in the interview, Megan touched on her upcoming music: “I am keeping my next project pretty quiet but it will be a complete shock and complete surprise. I am just creating things that feel good to me right now.”

Dennis Schroder Now Receiving Interest From The Celtics

Dennis Schroder has been having massive problems throughout free agency and it’s been quite a story throughout the entire NBA. Schroder was offered a four-year, $84 million contract by the Los Angeles Lakers although he ended up turning it down because he felt like he was worth more. Once free agency started, the market dried up and it made Schroder lose a lot of his value. There have been reports that the market for Schroder is a barren wasteland, and it’s come as quite a shock considering his skill.

Regardless, Schroder has continued to press on as he hopes to find a new team before the start of next season. With the Lakers trading for Russell Westbrook, it’s clear that Schroder’s time in L.A. is done, and he will now have to move somewhere else.

Jake Gyllenhaal Admits He Doesn’t Bath Regularly: “I Find It Less Necessary”

Jake Gyllenhaal is the latest celebrity to admit that he doesn’t bath regularly. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the Academy Award-nominated actor confessed that sometimes he just doesn’t see the point in showering. “More and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times,” he admitted, before setting the record straight on oral hygiene. “I do believe, because Elvis Costello is wonderful, that good manners and bad breath get you nowhere. So I do [brush my teeth],” he said while promoting Prada’s Luna Rossa Ocean fragrance.

Gyllenhaal said cutting down his bath time is all to improve the health of his skin. “I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves.”

“I always am baffled that loofahs come from nature. They feel like they’ve been made in a factory but, in fact, it’s just not true. Since I was young, it’s amazed me,” Gyllenhaal added.

This topic of personal hygiene and celebrities has become a topic of discussion this week after Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis admitted that they wait until the dirt is visible on their kids, before summoning them to a bath or shower. In addition, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard also revealed on Tuesday that they essentially await the stench before cleaning their daughters as well.

“Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up,” Bell, said on “The View.”

What do you think? Are these celebrities onto something or are they just gross?

Rico Nasty Returns With Glitchy New Single “Buss”

Rico Nasty has been steadily showcasing her versatility throughout the years, and while she can certainly spit bars when so inclined, sometimes the occasion calls for a vibe. Yet no matter which style she opts to tackle, it’s always unique. Her latest single “Buss” is no different. Fueled by a glitchy Game-Boy instrumental by Menoh Beats, the off-kilter banger takes Rico into some interesting new sonic territory.

Though the track’s direction may seem obvious at first, Rico quickly flies off the handle with some explosive vocals; it’s the exact sort of unpredictability that makes her such a dynamic artist — if a little on the niche end. Still, it can’t be denied that she’s among the game’s most original new voices, and her penchant for not giving a damn is downright respectable. “You can catch me smokin’ some expensive cannabis,” she sneers. “I used to hide it in my mattress / And if they could, they would dislike my pics / Tell a hoe, “Get off my clit’.”

Check out “Buss” now, and sound off if you enjoy this new direction from Rico Nasty.

Steph Curry Welcomes Andre Iguodala Back To Golden State

Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala were great teammates just a few years ago as they were coming off of a legendary run in NBA history. After winning three titles in five years, the Warriors were finally broken up as Iguodala was traded to Memphis all while Kevin Durant signed with the Brooklyn Nets. Since that time, the Warriors have struggled all while Iguodala was able to get to a sixth NBA Finals in a row.

With free agency beginning this week, many Warriors fans have been focused on Iggy’s situation as they were hoping that he would go out and sign with the Warriors. In the end, Iguodala did just that as it was made official this morning that the former Warriors star would be returning to the team that helped him become a champion.

As you can imagine, Steph Curry is extremely excited about this prospect, and to help celebrate, he took to Twitter with a hype video of some of Iggy’s best moments with the Warriors franchise. You can tell he is a beloved player in the Bay Area, and his presence will be much appreciated once the season officially begins in October.

The Warriors have an opportunity to become good again this season, and with Iggy on board, this could very well be a special season for Warriors fans.

Rihanna Has A Simple Answer For How It Feels To Be A Billionaire

A couple of days ago, Forbes revealed that Rihanna is officially a billionaire, indoctrinating her into an extremely exclusive club that only features two other Hip-Hop heavyweights: her close collaborators Jay-Z and Kanye West. According to Forbes, Rih Rih is estimated to be worth an awe-inspiring $1.7 billion, largely thanks to her 50% ownership stake in Fenty Beauty and her 30% stake in the Savage x Fenty lingerie company.

With such huge news, several fans and Hip-Hop artists, including Nicki Minaj, have showered Rihanna with congratulatory messages, and now, Rihanna has officially spoken on her newfound billionaire status, too.

Earlier on Friday, Rihanna was out on a shopping spree in New York with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky, and while they were celebrating her inspirational milestone accomplishment, some paparazzi approached her and asked for her thoughts on being a billionaire.

“Rih. Self-made billionaire,” a paparazzo for 247Paps.TV asked her, prompting giddy laughter from the ANTI artist. He then asked her, “What does that mean to you?”

Rather than a drawn-out reply to his question, Rihanna offered a simple answer. With just four words, the talented musical artist and successful entrepreneur responded, “God is good, man.”

Tyler, The Creator Discusses Cancel Culture & Says Odd Future Wouldn’t Have “Made It” Today

Tyler, The Creator says he and Odd Future wouldn’t have “made it” had they had their careers began today. Tyler discussed his old music and the attempts people have made to cancel him with Ebro Darden, Laura Stylez, and Peter Rosenberg for an interview on Hot 97.

When asked by Rosenberg if Odd Future would have been popular if they started in 2021, Tyler was quick to respond.

“Oh, f*ck no!” he said. “We came at the right time, where you could still be crazy. You could still be a kid and f*ck up. You could still have satire, you could still allow people to have a conversation even if you disagreed. Right now is crazy. I was just thinking about the idea, I’ve done so much ill sh*t in this ten year span…. what if they got me out of here in 2011? And wouldn’t allow me to get right here?”

When the conversation shifted to cancelation as a broader issue, he added: “I think some people genuinely don’t care about the shit they’re complaining about. I don’t give a fuck what someone else is complaining about, because I have my own life. I’m okay being fully selfish with what the fuck I got going on. Sometimes I’m like, I wish more people were a bit selfish rather than doing a performative ‘I give a fuck, I care’ shit. Don’t you have shit to do? … I’m not saying everyone doesn’t care, there’s just a lot of [performativeness].”

Check out the full interview with Tyler below, and catch him on tour with Vince Staples, next year.
