DJ Akademiks Blows Up On Charlamagne Tha God Over Podcast Success

DJ Akademiks has found a new stream of income, becoming the #2 podcaster on Spotify this week. With the premiere of his new podcast Off The Record last week, which started off with an episode including Tekashi 6ix9ine and Wack 100, the hip-hop commentator has enjoyed massive success, debuting just behind Joe Rogan’s podcast in Spotify’s rankings.

After Charlamagne Tha God and a few other podcasters from his network took aim at Ak’s new venture, the popular blogger shot back with hard numbers, telling Charlamagne not to get involved because he’s not shy to share receipts that he’s beating him and everybody else on his team in that category.

During a recent Twitch stream, Ak went off against Charlamagne and his staff, also dissing Rory and Mal during a heated rant. Much of his diatribe of Charlamagne was actually directed at the Whoreible Decisions podcasters working on his network, who have allegedly been smearing Ak’s name on social media. “When your little failed ass podcast– tell her Akademiks is probably not the n***a you wanna talk about,” said the blogger, fighting back against claims that his YouTube numbers are dwindling against hers.

When he posted about his strong debut on Spotify’s podcast charts, Ak couldn’t help but get a little petty with Rory and Mal, crossing out their show from the listings. He finished the week at #2 in the United States behind Joe Rogan, with an unauthorized compilation page of his Twitch streaming clips clocking in at #5.

Queen Key Rounds Out Trilogy With “Your Highness 3”

Chicago’s own Queen Key has been steadily putting in work for a minute, and she recently came through to deliver her brand new tape Your Highness 3, a staggering project that clocks in at a total of twenty-five songs. Though the album features guest appearances from Polo G, G Herbo, Yung Baby Tate, Tay Money, Kidd Kenn, and Lil Zay Osama, the throne belongs to Key alone, who commands attention throughout the project’s admittedly lengthy duration.

Those familiar with parts one and two will likely find much to appreciate on the third go-around, especially given how much fun the recent mother of triplets appears to be having. Tending to prefer her 808s heavily bouncy and slightly distorted, Key’s charisma shines on the more immediate bangers like “Flute,” “Be Like Queen,” and the sexually charged “Make Me Cum.” That’s not to say that it’s all fun and games; with twenty-five tracks, there are a few contemplative moments (relatively speaking) to be found, including the single “What I Do.”

Fans of the infectious personality should check out Your Highness 3, and be sure to sound off in the comments with your favorite tracks. Don’t let the intimidating runtime scare you off – Queen Key is a dynamic and exciting voice in Chicago’s vibrant and formidable rap scene. What do you think about this new project?

Curren$y Teases “Highest In Charge” Album

There’s a lot of artists who might be able to take the prize for hip-hop’s most consistent artist. Doubtless, their loyal fanbases would be able to drum up no shortage of arguments. Were a genuine conversation about consistency to take place among rap fans, you’d better believe that Curren$y Spitta would be among the most supported names, and for good reason.

Ever since first winning hearts with the critically acclaimed Pilot Talk series and the work that surrounded it, Spitta has been living his best life with the finest luxury cars and the most potent, smooth-smoking marijuana available to man. His interests have become staple lyrical components within his music, making him a refreshingly low-stakes listen perfect for late-night cruises and cerebral smoking sessions.

Now, he’s gearing up to drop off another addition to the catalog, having taken to Instagram to announce Highest In Charge, a new album produced by Trauma Tone. It’s not surprising that Tone and Curren$y decided to link up, as the pair previously worked together on Welcome To Jet Life 2, released in late June of this year.

In that same month, Tone spoke with Revolt about working with Spitta, revealing that they may very well have a few more surprises in the pipeline. “We worked on three projects in that whole process,” explained Tone. “We did about 40 records in a little under five days in June. It was all good vibes, and we were all chilling and having a good time. We didn’t rush the process.”

It would appear that Highest In Charge is one such project, and while Spitta did delete his initial Instagram announcement, a mirror of the briefly revealed album cover can be seen right here. Keep an eye out for more news on the project as it surfaces, including a release date. Are you excited to hear a complete album from Curren$y and Trauma Tone?

DaBaby Earns Serious Backlash For Deleting Apology To LGBTQ+ Community

At first, DaBaby seemed disinterested in apologizing for his ignorant comments about AIDS, HIV, and the LGBTQ+ community. The rapper made the remarks at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami a couple of weeks ago, telling his fans to raise their cell phone lights in the air “if you didn’t show up with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two or three weeks,” and also targeting gay men “sucking dick in the parking lot.” Instead of apologizing to the people he offended, he doubled down on his comments with more disturbing comments about how even his gay fans aren’t the “nasty” ones with AIDS.

Deservedly so, his disastrous rant got him dropped from over a handful of festivals, who erased him from their lineups to prevent another PR situation like this. In what has arguably been the most divisive move of his entire career, DaBaby issued an apology after much of the damage had already been done, sharing a half-hearted “sorry” to the LGBTQ+ community on social media. Just a few days after he posted the message to Instagram though, it has mysteriously been deleted from his page.

With the erasure of the apology note, people are mad at DaBaby again, sharing their frustration with their own posts about his misinformed move. Once again, the rapper faces a gang of angry fans who are upset with his decision to delete the apology so soon after posting it. Check out what people are saying below.

Spencer Dinwiddie’s NBA Title Bonus Is Ridiculously Low

Spencer Dinwiddie is the newest member of the Washington Wizards, and now, he will be joining a team that boasts the talents of Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. While Russell Westbrook might not be on the team anymore, there is no doubt that the Wizards have solid pieces on the roster and that moving forward, they could be a dangerous team in the Eastern Conference if they find some chemistry early on.

If you’ve followed Dinwiddie’s career, you would know that he has had some interesting ideas about his salary and the way he does business. Dinwiddie is a big fan of crypto, and he has even done GoFundMe’s to crowdsource his free agency. Now, however, Dinwiddie has structured his contract in a way that is truly bizarre.

According to reporter Bobby Marks, if the Wizards were to win the title, which is a huge “if,” Dinwiddie’s championship bonus would be worth $1. At this point, you might be thinking that I may have forgotten to type out some numbers after the 1, but truly I haven’t. Dinwiddie will receive one whole dollar if the Wizards can win the championship. Marks explains this provision in the contract, at the 10:15 mark down below.

In the grand scheme of things, this $1 is incredibly insignificant. However, if Dinwiddie invests that dollar into the next Dogecoin, perhaps he can yield some massive returns.

Kanye West’s ‘Nah Nah Nah’ Remix Featuring DaBaby Is No Longer On Streaming Services

For the past couple weeks now, Kanye West fans have been hoping for some sort of activity on his streaming platform pages as Donda continually faces delays. Well, there was a change recently, but it wasn’t Donda-related.

As NME points out, West’s “Nah Nah Nah” remix featuring 2 Chainz and DaBaby is no longer on Spotify, Apple Music, or Tidal. This comes following DaBaby’s controversial comments about HIV/AIDS, although it has not been indicated that the song’s removal is related to that.

This comes after DaBaby delivered an overdue apology, writing on Instagram, “I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important. Love to all.” However, that post no longer appears on his page.

As for West, despite hosting two stadium-sized listening parties for Donda, the album has yet to be released and has missed two scheduled release dates so far. As Mike Dean indicates, the latest delay could be due to a mixing mistake that West noticed during the most recent listening event. Meanwhile, it appears that a song with The Weeknd and Lil Baby could be the album’s first single.

The baby is a girl named Athena and the two were delighted to bring the child into the world. Unfortunately, there have been some medical complications over the last 24 hours, and Athena has had to stay in the ICU as a result. This is always a scary experience for parents, as you never want something bad to happen to your child, especially so soon after giving birth.

Fury revealed this news in an Instagram story where he asked all of his fans out there for some prayers, all while delivering some optimism that everything is going to be okay. As he explains, today will be crucial when it comes to Athena’s recovery.

“Massive thanks for all the messages and support,” Fury wrote. “The baby is [in] a stable position & doing well. Hopefully she comes out ICU today. Please keep baby Athena in your prayers.” Fury went on to note that his wife is doing okay, which is certainly good news for the entire family.

It has been a difficult couple of months for Fury, as he was forced to delay his fight against Deontay Wilder due to a COVID-19 scare. Hopefully, his daughter and the rest of his family are able to stay healthy during this very difficult time.

Asian Doll Releases Emotional New Single “Don’t Let Me Go” On King Von’s Birthday

We don’t often hear Asian Doll getting emotional in her music, but on what would have been her ex-boyfriend King Von’s twenty-seventh birthday today, she’s opening up to her fans with a heartfelt new single called “Don’t Let Me Go.”

The track appears to be the first release from Asian’s upcoming album release. It serves as a love letter to the late King Von, with whom she shared a strong love. “Don’t let me go baby, I mean this shit for real/I’ma give you all of me this time, I hope you feel,” she raps in the chorus.

In her first verse, she references all the drama surrounding Von’s death, her immediate reaction to his passing on social media, how she’s been perceived by fans during her grieving process, and much more. Listen to the new song below and let us know what you think.

Long Live King Von.

Lupe Fiasco Is Making An Album In 24 Hours

Lupe Fiasco has been doing this for a minute, and the elite-tier lyricist has experimented with a variety of musical styles and thematic concepts. With seven studio albums under his belt — including his most recent full-length Drogas Wave, an aquatically charged foray into Lupe’s fascinating mind — it would appear that Lu intends on adding another project to his catalog.

In the middle of last night, Lupe took to Twitter to announce an exciting challenge, one that may very well spell rewarding for his many loyal fans. “Finna do an album from scratch in 24 hours…” wrote Lupe, at 3:34 AM EST. “1 song in…9 to go…Last time I did this Stack was alive…”

Two hours later, Lupe had narrowed it down to eight of ten. Two hours after that, he had three songs completed. Given that his last update was a little under an hour ago, Lupe appears to be keeping up a relatively consistent pace. Not that anybody was really doubting his ability to pull it off, though an interesting question does still linger.

Is this challenge strictly for individual validation, or does Lupe actually intend on officially releasing this album to the masses? It wouldn’t be entirely out of character for Lupe to make his music accessible to the masses; lest we forget that the rapper has been delivering a steady stream of loosies, including a few notable freestyles and the Royce Da 5’9″ diss track “Steve Jobs.”

Keep a watchful eye on Lupe’s Twitter page for progress updates, and look for him to give a more thorough update when the twenty-four-hour window closes up at 3:34 AM tonight. Are you looking forward to a new album from the creatively stimulated emcee?
