MoneyBagg Yo Signs His First Female R&B Artist

MoneyBagg Yo is building his own empire, helping artists elevate and reach new heights in their careers. Much like Yo Gotti did for him, MoneyBagg Yo wants to host a roster of talented artists that can take him to the next level as a music executive. He’s already well on his way to becoming the next rap mogul out of Memphis, and he’s continuing his legacy-building moves with the signing of Ja’niyah.

For weeks, the “Wockesha” rapper has been teasing the latest signing to Bread Gang and finally, the 29-year-old superstar has revealed that he signed Ja’niyah as his first female R&B artist.

“I Need Y’all To Welcome @wowjaniyah To Da Bread Gang Family, She A Real Superstar, Talented & Different,” wrote Bagg on Instagram.

Previously, Ja’niyah was featured on a song with Summer Walker, her friend. She gracefully announced her signing with a lengthy note.

“Yo what?! Thank you so much @moneybaggyo for believing in me and giving this chance to show who I am,” she wrote. “I literally just got done crying, it doesn’t feel real, like I used to record in my closet and in the corner of my apartment, I remember writing songs in the strip club at work in strokers. This time last year I was going through severe depression, I felt so empty and alone, and all I had was my pain and music . I had several suicide attempts but god never let me go. I’m so thankful to my friends, cause without you guys I wouldn’t be here. […] Man CHASE YO MOTHER F**ing DREAMS. I swear, it’s possible, I’m just a girl who watches anime and make music. I’m so excited to share my story. I hope you guys appreciate my vulnerability.”

Big Sean Kicks Off Return Of MTV’s “Cribs” In Style

Not only is Big Sean currently on pace to become the tallest man in the world, but he’s also playing a pivotal role in the revival of a beloved MTV series. As older fans might recall, Cribs originally aired in September of 2000, running thirteen seasons with nearly two hundred celebrity guests.

Unsurprisingly, the series featured many hip-hop stars, including episodes with Redman, Fat Joe, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Trick Daddy, Big Boi, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and many more. In fact, their outlandish and luxurious homes were part of what made Cribs so enjoyable, so it can be assumed the 2021 reboot will follow suit with plenty of rap game guests.

Last night, the first episode of the newly-revived Cribs premiered, featuring a tour of Big Sean’s Los Angeles manor, complete with doorways high enough to accommodate his rapidly expanding height. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. As revealed in the official teaser below, Sean’s crib has an actual club — complete with an all-purpose pole — in the basement. “This is a place I don’t really show people,” says Sean. “You guys are pretty special right now.”

“This is Slash from Guns N Roses’ old crib,” reveals Sean. “When I bought the house, Slash had this whole club down here. They were like ‘you can turn it into whatever you want.’ I’m like — are you fuckin’ kidding me? This is Slash’s club, I’ma keep it the same.”  Understandable. But as fans know, Sean is all about achieving perfect harmony. As such, he counterbalances the debauchery with a peaceful and tranquil “zen room,” complete with a golden Buddha statue.

Alas, the episode might be bittersweet for Sean, as the rapper recently parted ways with the mansion, selling it for $11.1 million mere days ago. Still, it’s cool to see the house that he once lived in, though one has to wonder what prompted him to leave a place he appeared to love. We can only hope whoever purchased it from Sean shares his love of clubbing.

G Herbo Debuts Huge New Back Tattoo For His Son

G Herbo is a proud father of two adorable sons, Yosohn and Essex. The rapper is always showing off his father-son playtime on social media, and it’s clear that he’s loving every moment of his life as a parent. Alongside his fiancée Taina Williams, the rapper welcomed his second son, Essex, into the world a few months ago. They’ve been sharing countless photos and videos with the little one and on Wednesday night, Herb revealed that his son will always be watching over his back, getting his name tattooed on his shoulder blades.

Debuting a massive new back tattoo, the PTSD rapper carried his toddler and gave a good look at his new back ink, which is of his baby’s given name. The photo was posted to Instagram Stories.

He shared the new ink with the world shortly after the premiere of his latest music video for “Cold World,” which dropped on Wednesday. Herb also called out Akademiks for claiming that he gave Chief Keef clout, saying, “WHEN YOU SAY SHIT LIKE THIS I JUST CAN NEVER RESPECT YOU!”

Now that he’s got a large tattoo for Essex, do you think he’ll get something that equally pops for Yosohn, his firstborn?

T-Pain Jokes About Working With Tory Lanez & Chris Brown Amid Drama With Megan & Rihanna

T-Pain was a guest on Drink Champs last week, where he spoke about a slew of interesting topics. The artist spoke about his perception that JAY-Z’s “D.O.A.” was about him, his hilarious “beef” with Future, and the fact that musicians only make a small percentage of what record labels net. Additionally, he was asked about his choice to collaborate with Chris Brown so many times, despite his past controversies with Rihanna, as well as his decision to release a song with Tory Lanez, amid his own drama with Megan Thee Stallion.

When N.O.R.E. introduced the topic, T-Pain offered up a funny comparison that will likely make you want to watch the full three-hour episode.

“I don’t know why n***as like fucking up when I’m ready to put a record out,” laughed T-Pain. “As soon as I put a record out with Chris, he fucked up. I put a record out with Tory Lanez, he fucked up. I’m [like] the bitch in the hood that pick the wrong n***as.”

In the same interview, T-Pain also spoke about the creation of his songs “I’m N Luv (Wit A Stripper),” “I’m Sprung,” and others.

Shoe Palace Employee Fatally Shot While Trying To Break Up Fight Over Shoe Raffle

The sneaker game can get ugly and over-competitive, but it should never get fatal. Unfortunately, that’s what happened on Wednesday afternoon at Shoe Palace in Los Angeles, California when a fight over a sneaker raffle resulted in the loss of someone’s life. Jayren Bradford, a Shoe Palace employee, was shot and killed while trying to de-escalate the heated argument.

According to KTLA5, Bradford was just arriving to work around 12:30 pm when he noticed the tense situation in front of the store. Witnesses attest that Bradford had approached the group of men and women arguing in front of Shoe Palace and asked them, “What’s the problem? What’s the deal?” However, the crowd’s energy shifted, and someone ended up pulling out a gun and fatally shooting Bradford.

Keyshawn Williams, one of Bradford’s colleagues at Shoe Palace, spoke to KTLA5 about his fallen co-work dreams and ambitions prior to his tragic death, saying that he had lived down the street from the store and was reportedly working at Shoe Palace while pursuing his dream of becoming a musician.

According to KTLA5, police are describing the suspect as a “Latino man in his early 20s with short hair,” and they have revealed that the suspect was last seen driving off in a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry. Stay tuned for more updates, and check out a video of the news coverage below.

RIP, Jayren Bradford.

Eminem & Ed Sheeran Spoke About Marvel & Video Games For 4 Hours

It’s fair to say that Ed Sheeran has become one of Eminem’s recurring collaborators, having already released three songs together; “River” off Revival, “Remember The Name” off Ed’s Collabs No. 6and most recently “Those Kinda Nights” on Music To Be Murdered By.

Now, Ed opened up about his creative chemistry with Slim Shady in a recent interview with Apple Music, sharing a bit of insight into their first studio session in Detroit. Being that it was actually their first time meeting, Ed notes that they were able to find common ground through their shared love of geek culture — specifically Marvel and vintage video games.

“[The studio] was in Detroit and I was playing a gig in Detroit, and yeah, I arrived,” he explains. “He’s got loads of games consoles there. He loves games. I actually bought him a Nintendo 64 with GoldenEye on it as a gift. Yeah. I just stepped in there. Actually, first time we met, we didn’t make music. I hung out there for about four hours, and we just spoke Marvel and Avengers for about four hours.”

“And then the next time I went back, we made a tune,” he explains, speaking on the aforementioned “River.” “The first tune we made, I was in Mexico and his producer flew to Mexico, and I did the hook there and stuff.”

While there isn’t entirely much to glean regarding any new music, it’s certainly interesting that Em and Ed were so thoroughly captivated by the going-ons of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To astute Em fans, it’s not surprising; he’s implemented many of The Avengers into his bars, namedropping Iron Man in “On Fire,” Captain America on “Drop The Bomb On Em,” Thor on “Rap God,” and The Hulk on “Lock It Up.”

Given that he has such an encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture in general, are you really surprised that Eminem is somewhat of a film buff?

Lil Wayne Either Doesn’t Know Or Won’t Admit His Trump Meeting Was Unpopular With Fans

It’s no surprise that New Orleans rap veteran Lil Wayne doesn’t see a lot of what happens on social media. After all, this is a man who didn’t realize Quality Control and TDE were the names of music labels or know which rappers were on those labels, despite working with some of them. But a new revelation in an interview for Los Angeles Times strains belief, even for the notoriously insulated Lil Wayne.

When he was asked whether he got “a lot of pushback” for meeting with Donald Trump ahead of the 2020 elections, Wayne responded simply, “Nah, not at all” — a reply that suggests that Wayne somehow missed a wave of backlash from fans and peers that included mockery from 50 Cent and speculation that he was offered either paid for his public support in order to pander to a younger audience for Trump or offered a pardon on recent gun charges that would have sent him away for up to 10 years. Lil Wayne himself denied the accusation that the move was self-serving at the time, and sticks to a similar line of reasoning here, stating he believes “progress is always possible,” even in light of all the evidence to the contrary wihen it came to Trump’s rhetoric and policies.

Of course, it is entirely possible he just missed all the public pushback. Elsewhere in the interview, he claims to be unaware of the biggest rap controversy of the last several weeks, the fallout from DaBaby’s Rolling Loud performance. Although Wayne said he didn’t keep up with the spate of festival cancelations that followed, he did have some opinions on social media: “You know how it does,” he said. “The spotlight on artists and celebrities is absolutely crazy. You don’t even have to be a celebrity. Even normal people can feel like they’re wrong because their 200 followers said something. But that’s the power of social media today.”
