Eminem & Ed Sheeran Spoke About Marvel & Video Games For 4 Hours

It’s fair to say that Ed Sheeran has become one of Eminem’s recurring collaborators, having already released three songs together; “River” off Revival, “Remember The Name” off Ed’s Collabs No. 6and most recently “Those Kinda Nights” on Music To Be Murdered By.

Now, Ed opened up about his creative chemistry with Slim Shady in a recent interview with Apple Music, sharing a bit of insight into their first studio session in Detroit. Being that it was actually their first time meeting, Ed notes that they were able to find common ground through their shared love of geek culture — specifically Marvel and vintage video games.

“[The studio] was in Detroit and I was playing a gig in Detroit, and yeah, I arrived,” he explains. “He’s got loads of games consoles there. He loves games. I actually bought him a Nintendo 64 with GoldenEye on it as a gift. Yeah. I just stepped in there. Actually, first time we met, we didn’t make music. I hung out there for about four hours, and we just spoke Marvel and Avengers for about four hours.”

“And then the next time I went back, we made a tune,” he explains, speaking on the aforementioned “River.” “The first tune we made, I was in Mexico and his producer flew to Mexico, and I did the hook there and stuff.”

While there isn’t entirely much to glean regarding any new music, it’s certainly interesting that Em and Ed were so thoroughly captivated by the going-ons of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To astute Em fans, it’s not surprising; he’s implemented many of The Avengers into his bars, namedropping Iron Man in “On Fire,” Captain America on “Drop The Bomb On Em,” Thor on “Rap God,” and The Hulk on “Lock It Up.”

Given that he has such an encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture in general, are you really surprised that Eminem is somewhat of a film buff?

Lil Wayne Either Doesn’t Know Or Won’t Admit His Trump Meeting Was Unpopular With Fans

It’s no surprise that New Orleans rap veteran Lil Wayne doesn’t see a lot of what happens on social media. After all, this is a man who didn’t realize Quality Control and TDE were the names of music labels or know which rappers were on those labels, despite working with some of them. But a new revelation in an interview for Los Angeles Times strains belief, even for the notoriously insulated Lil Wayne.

When he was asked whether he got “a lot of pushback” for meeting with Donald Trump ahead of the 2020 elections, Wayne responded simply, “Nah, not at all” — a reply that suggests that Wayne somehow missed a wave of backlash from fans and peers that included mockery from 50 Cent and speculation that he was offered either paid for his public support in order to pander to a younger audience for Trump or offered a pardon on recent gun charges that would have sent him away for up to 10 years. Lil Wayne himself denied the accusation that the move was self-serving at the time, and sticks to a similar line of reasoning here, stating he believes “progress is always possible,” even in light of all the evidence to the contrary wihen it came to Trump’s rhetoric and policies.

Of course, it is entirely possible he just missed all the public pushback. Elsewhere in the interview, he claims to be unaware of the biggest rap controversy of the last several weeks, the fallout from DaBaby’s Rolling Loud performance. Although Wayne said he didn’t keep up with the spate of festival cancelations that followed, he did have some opinions on social media: “You know how it does,” he said. “The spotlight on artists and celebrities is absolutely crazy. You don’t even have to be a celebrity. Even normal people can feel like they’re wrong because their 200 followers said something. But that’s the power of social media today.”

PJ Washington Addresses Brittany Renner Child Support Rumors

Charlotte Hornets baller PJ Washington has been the target of memes and jokes for weeks following his split from girlfriend Brittany Renner. The couple broke up just a couple of weeks after Renner gave birth to their first child, and fans have been cracking jokes at Washington’s expense, claiming that Renner used him for a quick come-up. One of the most recent rumors to have gone viral about the former lovebirds suggests that for the next eighteen years, Washington will need to pay Renner $200,000 per month in child support.

As basketball fans continue to react to the wild, unconfirmed rumors, PJ Washington has officially chimed in with a word, claiming that everything people are saying about him paying out the wazoo in child support is false.

“Stop the [cap],” tweeted the 22-year-old NBA star, suggesting that he’s seen the rumors going around and they’re not legit.

In addition to the child support speculation, fans have also been resurfacing older videos of Brittany Renner, where she says that athletes are “dumb” and advising women to date ballers for their money. She has been accused by fans of “grooming” PJ Washington. She started dating him when she was in her mid-20s. At the time, PJ had just turned 18. She sarcastically joked about the accusations on Twitter.

Big Sean Responds To Theory Trolling His Recent Growth Spurt

In addition to having fans and artists lusting over him last week, Big Sean also made a lot of noise by revealing that he miraculously grew two inches over the past year. As a rapper that many fans have often made fun of regarding his height, Big Sean took a moment to address those who have been saying that he’s just 5’6.”

In the video he stood by someone who attested that they were 5’10”, and true to his argument, Big Sean did appear to be the same size as him. What really made the video go viral, however, was the Detroit 2 rapper’s caption, which claimed that he had grown two inches taller after visiting a chiropractor two times a week for a full year straight.

Thus, the “Bigger Sean” joke was born, and fans took to Twitter to either roast the G.O.O.D. Music rapper or defend his claims. Now, it appears that Pigeons and Planes‘ “Stats & Research Department” has gotten in on the fun by using the method that Big Sean described in order to theorize that he will soon be the tallest person on Earth.

“Big Sean shared an IG revealing he has grown 2 inches in the past year by going to the chiropractor 2x a week for [a] year,” P&P‘s spam Instagram account wrote. “That’s 104 visits a year, and /01923 inches gained per visit, growing sean from 5’8″ to 5’10”. If sean don were to go to the chiropractor every day, in 4 years and 39 days big sean will become the tallest human alive.”

What’s even more hilarious is that Pigeons & Planes shares their data-driven theory alongside a graphic that positions an 8’3″ “biggest Sean” side-by-side with the tallest living man. Check it out below.

Big Sean caught wind of P&P trolling him and responded by saying, “[laughing emoji x4] I just measured when I went to the chiropractor today, just to double check n it’s true [shrug emoji].”

Are you at all convinced by Pigeons & Planes‘ “Biggest Sean” growth theory?

Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, & Lil Wayne, & Pusha T Trend On Twitter

For many people, seeing trending topics on Twitter generally indicates breaking news. Therefore, when fans logged on to see “Kendrick” trending this morning, it’s likely that many believed the day of reckoning was upon us; album news at last, a drop of rain in a long and tiring drought.

Yet that was no the case, and while Kendrick was indeed trending on the social media platform, the activity had nothing to do with any music.

Evidently, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, and Pusha T also happened to trend at the same time; alas, we did not have a “Control 2.0” on our hands, in which four elite lyricists spar for the coveted title of best rapper alive.

For the most part, the trending rap all-stars had little to do with one another, at least not initially. When it was seen that the trending topics were jam-packed with rappers, a debate over dominance kicked off in certain circles.

In truth, there wasn’t really much to glean from the spontaneous blast of trending rappers, as no new music was announced. Still, it’s interesting that hip-hop was such a dominant part of the online discourse, and with nothing to do with antics at that.

Insofar as common ground, Kendrick, Cole, Wayne, and Pusha would all fit right at home in a best current rapper conversation, though it’s starting to feel like Kendrick Lamar isn’t exactly a current rapper anymore.

At the moment, all four are still trending on Twitter with no discernible explanation as to why. For the sake of conversation, were Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Drake, and Lil Weezy to hop on a “Control”-esque track, who do you think would leave the biggest impression?

Lil Wayne Addresses DaBaby’s Homophobic Comments & Reflects On Trump Meeting

Lil Wayne infamously lives in his own world and he doesn’t really absorb much that happens around him. Last year, the legendary rapper revealed that Lil Baby is his personal favorite artist before admitting that he doesn’t listen to much new music and doesn’t stay up-to-date on who and what’s trending. With that in mind, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Weezy has absolutely no idea of the backlash that DaBaby is presently facing because of the homophobic comments he made at Rolling Loud, and thereafter.

Speaking with August Brown for a rare interview in the Los Angeles Times, Lil Wayne spoke about his 2020 meeting with Donald Trump, as well as his thoughts on DaBaby’s recent comments. Admitting that he hasn’t kept up with the drama, which resulted in over a handful of festival cancellations for the rapper, Wayne received a quick rundown from Brown about what happened before responding.

“You know how it does,” said Wayne. “The spotlight on artists and celebrities is absolutely crazy. You don’t even have to be a celebrity. Even normal people can feel like they’re wrong because their 200 followers said something. But that’s the power of social media today.”

Speaking about his controversial meeting with Donald Trump, which prompted him to publicly endorse the then-President for re-election, Wayne suggested that he genuinely believed that progress was possible with Trump.

“Progress is always possible,” he said, before claiming that he didn’t receive a lot of pushback for his public endorsement.
