Saweetie And Kendra Jae Ride A Mechanical Bull In Their Fiery ‘Seesaw’ Video

As the world waits for Saweetie’s debut album Pretty B*tch Music to finally be ready for release, the Bay Area raprentreneur is making the most of her existing projects to hold fans over, dropping a sultry video for her and Kendra Jae’s April collaboration “Seesaw.” Although it’s Kendra’s song, it first appeared on Saweetie’s Pretty Summer Playlist Vol. 1 mixtape, which Saweetie released this spring as a placeholder for her album.

The video, which features a cameo appearance from Inglewood-native Dreamville rapper Cozz, sees Kendra lighting furniture on fire as she sits with him on a sofa in a bedazzled bodysuit. Elsewhere in the video, Kendra and Saweetie pose and mug the camera in a plush purple convertible and share a ride on a mechanical bull. There’s also some nifty choreography with Kendra and her dance team on various colored sets.

Although Pretty Summer came out months ago, it’s proven to have some long legs after she released videos for “Baby Mama Coochie” by BbyAfricka and “Risky” featuring Drakeo The Ruler. The unplanned compilation EP has given Saweetie fans plenty to listen to as she prepares to release PBM, which she says is finally ready and deserves to be taken seriously. Hopefully, it’ll be out while her McDonald’s meal is still on the market, proving that the Icy Queen can take advantage of all the synergy she’s been building lately.

Lil Duece Plays A Laid-Back Performance Of ‘Outside (Tiny Yung Freestyle)’ On ‘UPROXX Sessions’

No, that’s not a typo. Today’s UPROXX Sessions guest Lil Duece really spells his name like that — which actually benefits him on searches. Today, the Inglewood native delivers a laid-back performance of his signature single “Outside (Tiny Yung Freestyle),” leaning heavily into his trademark LA-inflected flow over the track’s swinging, saxophone-laden instrumental.

Duece might not be a household name outside the confines of Los Angeles County, but in his hometown, he’s a rising star, turning in standout guest verses alongside fellow Angelenos like 1TakeQuan (the crewmate of another Sessions alum, 1TakeJay), 2 Eleven, Rucci, and Skeme, while songs like “Judo” and his June 2021 collaborative mixtape with Shoreline Mafia’s Rob Vicious have raised his profile in recent years. Meanwhile, the Lyrical Lemonade-approved “Outside,” with its region-agnostic production, has provided a near-perfect vehicle to carry his obviously deeply-rooted rap style and LA gang life references to the nation at large.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. Featuring creative direction from LA promotion collective, Ham On Everything, and taking place on our “bathroom” set designed and painted by Julian Gross, UPROXX Sessions is a showcase of some of our favorite performers, who just might soon be yours, too.

Icewear Vezzo Exudes Detroit Mobster Energy On “Chamber Brothers”

Icewear Vezzo is ready to put on for the bubbling Michigan rap scene once more when Rich Off Pints 2 releases on September 3, but in the meantime, he continues to treat his fans with new singles like “Chamber Brothers.”

The smooth, head-bobbing track clocks in right around three minutes, and it finds the Drank God doing what he does best — rattling off lowkey bars that will have you rewinding the track because you probably missed them the first time. Produced by The Mechanics, “Chamber Brothers” also comes accompanied by a music video, and just like the single, it’s minimal, yet captivating.

With promising tracks like “Chamber Brothers” and the momentum that he has built with his first Rich Off Pints project earlier this summer, Icewear Vezzo is definitely gearing up to have another big release with Rich Off Pints 2. Are you feeling Vezzo’s latest release?

Quotable Lyrics

Now you ain’t never up no score, you out here scrimmaging
Where I’m from we slime him out and wipe the middle man
Told lil gang they gotta chill, they out here killing shit
How you caught a body, did they time, and you still a bitch?
AR heavy on my shoulder gotta aim this fucker
Selling crack like it’s the ’80s, we the Chamber Brothers

Tiwa Savage & Amaare Debut New Love Song “Tales By Moonlight”

Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage partners with Ghanaian-American singer, Amaarae on her new single “Tales By Moonlight”. The song will be featured on Savage’s upcoming 5-track EP Water & Gari, which includes additional features from Nas, Brandy, and Tay Iwar.

On “Tales by Moonlight,” the Queen of Afrobeats belts out an airy, angelic melody. Amaare’s distinct vocals compliment Savage, making the fusion of Afropop, R&B, and Southern rap the perfect mix.

In an interview with Apple Music’s radio host, Zane Lowe, Savage discusses naming the song after a Nigerian program. “Tales By Moonlight was a popular program when I was growing up in Nigeria,” said the Grammy-nominated songwriter. The show was set in a village and featured an adult who would read old folk stories and fairytales to a group of young children.

“I wanted a record that felt good. The lyrics, even my delivery on it, my tone, I was very soft on it. It’s me saying I just want that fairy tale type of love. I don’t want to lose hope in just finding real love. I still believe in that. No matter how many times I’ve been heartbroken, I still am a sucker for love. I still believe there’s still that fairytale Cinderella ending.”

In 2020, Savage released her critically acclaimed fourth studio album Celia and Amaarae shared her debut project The Angel You Don’t Know.

Water & Garri EP Tracklist:

1. Work Fada [ft. Nas and Rich King]

2. Ade Ori

3. Tales by Moonlight [ft. Amaarae]

4. Somebody’s Son [ft. Brandy]

5. Special Kinda [ft. Tay Iwar]

Swae Lee and Lil Pump’s Respective Theft & Vandalism Cases Go Cold

According to Miami Beach police, the two cases related to two separate instances will go cold if new information doesn’t pop up.

TMZ reports that the cases involving a theft of Swae Lee’s jewelry and and the destruction of Lil Pump’s cars have now been labeled as cold by the department after all investigative leads were pursued without result.

It was in early May that vandals trespassed at Pump’s home, smashing in the windows on his cars as they tried to steal valuable items out of the cars.

“Bro, I’mma catch you,” Pump said when filming the damage. “Whoever did this, I’mma catch you and I’mma blow your brains out, bitch. … Step foot in my yard again. I want you to step foot in my yard. I’mma be up for three days straight. Come in this bitch. I fucking dare you. That’s a free body for me.”

About a month later, $300,000 worth of jewelry was allegedly stolen from Swae Lee’s Mondrian Hotel room in South Beach. The rapper initially suspected the hotel’s cleaning staff of the theft. Miami Beach PD since discounted the theory, not believing hotel staff to be involved.

“The hotel is working in full cooperation with the police and authorities,” the Mondrian said at the time. “As always, the safety and security of our guests and colleagues remains our top priority.”
