Giannis Antetokounmpo Fails At Roasting KD, LeBron, & Nikola Jokic: Watch

Giannis Antetokounmpo is known around the NBA for being one of the nicest guys out there. Overall, many see him as the best player in the NBA. Even on a bad night, Giannis will give you at least 25 points and then another 10 rebounds on top of that. Furthermore, he brought a championship to Milwaukee, which is pretty legendary. He could have easily gone anywhere to win a title, but instead, he opted to play in a small market and give them everything they ever dreamed of.

Additionally, Giannis does all of this while being extremely humble. Despite all the chatter of him being the best in the league, he has no interest in actually claiming this title. Instead, he would rather defer those titles to people like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Although some believe he is putting on a “fake modesty” act, there is no doubt he is sincere. At the end of the day, he is just a guy living his dream and nothing can take him off of his pedestal.

Giannis Antetokounmpo On “The Daily Show”

Recently, Giannis was on The Daily Show which was hosted by Hasan Minhaj. During the episode, Minhaj, who is a huge NBA fan, tried to get Giannis to diss other players in the NBA. However, Antetokounmpo simply did not have the heart to do it. Instead, he just praised everyone. For instance, he made a joke about Kevin Durant and how he can’t carry his own team. Giannis hated the bit and decided to just praise KD immediately after. The same occurred with LeBron, as he told the Lakers star that he looks up to him. Luckily, we got some jokes for Nikola Jokic as Giannis said “Joker, how are going to make it through the Finals when you look like you could barely make it through a Burger King drive-through?”

For the foreseeable future, it appears as though Giannis will not be offering up any disses to his peers. Overall, he is too nice of a guy for that kind of thing. For now, he is just focused on winning a second title with the Bucks. If he makes it happen, he will certainly become one of the greatest players ever.

Luka Doncic & Giannis Antetokounmpo To Face Off In International Game For First Time

Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo continue to be two of the most elite players in the NBA. So far this season, the Greek Power Forward is averaging 32 points and nearly 12 rebounds per game. Comparatively, Doncic is averaging 34 points, to go along with his nearly nine rebounds and assists per game.

On Sunday (January 1), the Greek Basketball Federation announced that the two will face off in a friendly game. The game is set to be in Athens, Greece on August 4. The match will be between the two stars’ home countries – Greece vs. Slovenia.

The 2023 FIBA World Cup is taking place from August 25-September 10. The game between their countries will serve as a preparation game for the event. The tournament is expecting both players to play for their home countries, making this the first time the two will play each other in an international game.

Doncic is fresh off of his historic night last week, dropping an insane stat line. On Tuesday (December 27), he dropped 60 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists in the Mavericks’ 126-121 win over the New York Knicks. The 23-year-old is the first player in NBA history to end a game with this stat line.

Both players did play in the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket last year. However, Germany is responsible for eliminating Greece, while Poland eliminated Slovenia. Both took place in the quarterfinals. Although it’s just a friendly match, it will certainly be entertaining to watch these two All-Stars square off in new territory.

Drake Says His Giannis Antetokounmpo Lyric On ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Was Inspired By A Tweet

There are a lot of lyrics on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, given that the album runs for nearly 90 minutes. One of the standout lines, though, is when he references Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo on “7am On Bridle Path”: “Could at least keep it a buck like Antetokounmpo.” The multi-syllabic name doesn’t exactly lend itself to being mentioned in a song, but Drake says he did it because he was challenged to on Twitter.

Over the weekend, ESPN re-shared a tweet on their Instagram that was originally posted after the Bucks won the NBA championship last season, a tweet that played off the fact that Drake has been known to name-drop athletes in his songs: “Drake working Antetokounmpo into a line is gonna be tricky but he’ll figure out something.” In the comments of ESPN’s post, Drake confirmed that this tweet was what inspired him to mention Antetokounmpo on “7am On Bridle Path,” writing, “Only did it cause of this tweet.”

All that said, the song is perhaps most notable for who it doesn’t mention, at least not by name, as fans are convinced that throughout “7am On Bridle Path,” Drake takes jabs at Kanye West as the two rappers continue to feud.
