G Herbo And Future Deliver Big Bag Talk In The Boastful New Single ‘Blues’

G Herbo is back with his new single “Blues” featuring Future. Herbo brands his usual aggressive delivery, rapping “Give her racks, she on my nerves / Get it back I hit the stu’ / Be in the traffic with the crew / Keep my savage in the coupe” over the ATL Jacob production.

Future takes on the hook, blending melodic autotune with his shapeshifting flow. “Blues stacked on blues / Money wet in my veins / Tiger face in the presidential / Could’ve bought eight planes,” Hendrix spits before transitioning into his verse.

“Blues” arrives in what has been an active year for G Herbo. The Chicago rapper previously released the singles “Locked In” and “Me, Myself & I” featuring A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Herbo has maintained his presence primarily through features, appearing on “Idk That B*tch” from Gunna’s DS4EVER, “Facetime” from the late King Von’s What It Menas To Be King, and “Chicago To Memphis” from NLE Choppa’s Me Vs. Me.

As for Future, he released I Never Liked You at the end of April and more recently appeared on “One Time” from Nav’s Demons Protected By Angels in addition to “Shoot It Myself” from EST Gee’s new album I Never Felt Nun.

EST Gee And Future Party With Their Rap Peers And James Harden In The Luxurious ‘Shoot It Myself’ Video

Though the content of EST Gee and Future’s new record “Shoot It Myself” is very “opp”-focused, they don’t have a care in the world in the record’s accompanying visual. Whether they are in the midst of beautiful women twerking, rapping on a basketball court, or attending an all-white party flanked by NBA superstar James Harden, Lil Durk, Travis Scott, Doe Boy, and other rappers, the duo has a grand time.

“Shoot It Myself” marks the fourth collaboration between Gee and Hendrix. They began with the “Lick Back Remix” also featuring Young Thug from EST Gee’s Bigger Than Life Or Death, and then doubled up on the Bigger deluxe version with “Dead Wrong.” EST Gee later joined Future on “Chickens” from Future’s latest album I Never Liked You.

Both have had active years, as EST Gee partnered with his CMG The Label peer 42 Dugg for the collaborative project Last Ones Left and later contributed several verses to CMG’s full label compilation Gangsta Art. Future reached a major milestone this year following I Never Liked You as he became one of the top-achieving RIAA artists with over 95 million units sold and certified Gold, Platinum, or higher.

EST Gee And Future Take The Lead On The Menacing New Single ‘Shoot It Myself’

EST Gee and Future have linked up once again in 2022 for the menacing “Shoot It Myself.” Gee takes on the first verse and Future weaves in with ease. The two’s musical chemistry is uncanny, and with the years they are having, it makes perfect sense they declare “F*ck my shooter, I’ll shoot it myself” because who, if not them?

“Shoot It Myself” follows what has been active years for both EST Gee and Future. Gee shared the singles “Hell” and “Love Is Blind” in the last few months. Additionally, he appears several times on CMG The Label’s compilation album Gangsta Art in addition to the collaborative project with his labelmate 42 Dugg titled Last Ones Left.

As for Future, he is riding high off of the momentum of his latest album I Never Liked You, highlighted by “Wait For U” featuring Drake and Tems in addition to appearances from Kanye West, Kodak Black, Gunna, Young Thug, and more. The “March Madness” artist also collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion on “Pressurelicious” from her recent album Traumazine. Amidst all of these releases, Future achieved a major milestone in being noted as one of the top-achieving rappers of all-time by the RIAA. He has had over 95 million units certified Gold, Platinum, or higher over the course of his career.

Future Is Officially One Of The Top Achieving Gold And Platinum Rappers Of All Time

Usually, when the current rap hierarchy is discussed, the same three names come up as the best: Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole. Things get a bit murky when it comes to the next spot, with names like Kanye West and Nicki Minaj often coming up. However, there is a strong hive that advocates for Future deserving a spot in the conversation, and his latest achievement certainly adds to their argument. On July 27, the DS2 artist was recognized by the RIAA for over 95 million units certified Gold, Platinum, or more over the course of his career.

The Grammy award-winning rapper was honored in a private event at Soho House Miami Beach where RIAA COO Michele Ballantyne and Epic Records Chairwoman and CEO Sylvia Rhone were both in the building. They gifted him with special plaques commemorating this unprecedented milestone.

Future’s career spans of nine albums and 68 songs, placing him in rarified air with one of the highest totals in history throughout RIAA’s 65-year-old existence. It comes on the heels of his latest album, I Never Liked You, reaching Gold status in under three months, with the standout record “Wait For U” featuring Drake and Tems already double Platinum and “Puffin On Zootiez” certified Gold.

Ballantyne had this to say about the major moment: “We’re thrilled to celebrate that Future now has 95 million RIAA certified units spanning 9 albums and 68 separate singles! He’s in an elite group – very few artists have achieved this level of success in the history of our nearly 65 year old program. Congratulations to Future and his incredible Epic Records and Freebandz teams!”

That number four spot in the rap hierarchy might have just been officially claimed.
