Curren$y & Jermaine Dupri Set Release Date For “For Motivational Use Only”

Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri are the duo we never knew we needed. Over the past two years, the Southern titans have hinted at a joint project. However, they began to provide fans with a bit of insight into what they cooked up last week. The two rappers delivered a spectacular performance on “From The Block” where they debuted “Never Enough.” Then, they offloaded their first official single from the project, “Essence Fest” on Friday. The single serves as an ode to NOLA and the regional sound of bounce that emerged from it.

Both singles provided fans with some insight into what to expect, though fans won’t be waiting much longer for their full-length LP. This morning, Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri appeared on Twitter Spaces with Elliott Wilson where they confirmed a release date for their upcoming project, For Motivational Use Only. “Since everybody’s been asking when the album coming out… 404,” JD confirmed. “The date of this album is on 4/04. That’s Spitta’s birthday.” Curren$y added, “That’s 404 day for Atlanta and my birthday for the whole muthafuckin’ world.”

Curren$y & Jermaine Dupri Plot On Part 2

Spitta and Jermaine Dupri already confirmed that they have almost 40 songs loaded for the upcoming trilogy. However, it seems like we won’t be waiting long for the second installment of For Motivational Use Only. In correspondence of 504 day in New Orleans, JD suggested the follow-up could arrive a month later. “He just talked to me about dropping another record on 5/04,” JD said. “Yeah, so we dropping on muthafuckin’ Atlanta day, 4/04. Even though that’s my birthday, I want my damn area code to have some music,” Curren$y added.

With a trilogy in the works, Curren$y, who released a tribute song to Jermaine Dupri in the past, explained that they want to bring music that will speak directly to the go-getters. “You’re going to be pushed to get money, to count that money, invest that money wisely, and then once you flipped it once or two times, then maybe get yourself a little something and then continue and rinse and repeat. That’s what it’s about,” Spitta told Vibe. Check out the announcement above.

Curren$y & Jermaine Dupri Bring The Bounce On “Essence Fest”

Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri are coming through with some heat this summer. The two rap icons began to hint at a collaborative effort last year but they didn’t necessarily provide fans with too much information on a release date. All we knew is that they had a joint project on the way titled, For Motivational Use Only. Now, there are plenty of collaborative projects that build up excitement only to be prematurely announced and never released. However, this isn’t one of them.

A collaborative album between the two doesn’t seem like an obvious choice, but Spitta never held back his appreciation for JD. Spitta previously released the single, “Jermaine Dupri” in honor of the So So Def founder, which ultimately caught JD’s attention and led to this very moment. Earlier this week, they blessed fans with “Never Enough” via a performance on From The Block. Today, they’re providing the first taste of what to expect with a nod to Curren$y’s hometown.

Curren$y & Jermaine Dupri Bring New Orleans Bounce To “Essence Fest”

Though Spitta’s usually attached to hazy production that pairs up with his smoked out flow, Jermaine Dupri has the New Orleans rapper returning to his regional roots on “Essence Fest.” The New Orleans Bounce comes clear on the production as Curren$y rides the beat effortlessly with a swagger that pulls from his days with Young Money. JD layers funky basslines with second-line drum-inspired patterns that pops out of the record for a perfect introduction to their forthcoming album.

During an interview with Essence, tCurren$y and Jermaine Dupri explained that the effort will highlight the rich history of the South’s hip-hop innovations. However, as the title For Motivational Use Only suggests, they’ll be serving up the anthem for the go-getters. “It’s just more of a real pep talk and a call to arms for people who know that this is their time and people who want to launch businesses, girls who want to open whatever their business is, the homies who want to start their shit,” Spitta said. “This is the no-excuse soundtrack for whoever wants to get out and go get it.”

Quotable Lyrics
All this, all this ‘cause I’m rich
She think she smart, she think she slick
But I break hearts, no favorites
And I play hard, take major risks
Bitch, buy me something if you fuck with me
There’s enough n***as that’s already trickin’

Curren$y & Jermaine Dupri Debut New Song “Never Enough”

Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri are cooking up something major. While the New Orleans-born rapper has continued his prolific run throughout 2022, it seems like he’s gearing up to drop off some new heat with the So So Def founder. Spitta and JD have hinted at a joint project together, though they haven’t solidified any release dates. Regardless, fans have been excited to hear what Spitta has cooked up with Dupri, especially after the success of his collaborative effort with The Alchemist, Continuance last year.

This week, the two rappers came through to provide us with a snippet of what to expect from For Motivational Use Only Vol. 1. They linked up for a performance on From The Block where they previewed a soul-heavy record titled, “Never Enough.” JD takes the mic first where he describes getting it out of the mud to becoming one of the biggest producers in hip-hop history. However, JD’s intro was merely a setup for Curren$y to demolish the microphone. With a joint in his hand, Curren$y showcases his effortless style with a stream-of-conscious flow that leaps from reflecting on his status in rap to his drip.

Curren$y & Jermaine Dupri – Never Enough

Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri recently detailed what to expect from their joint project in an interview with Vibe. Spitta explained that the two have locked into the studio with over three dozen songs in the cut. “We got 40 songs saved so we got music, we don’t even have to go in the studio again and we can roll out four volumes without going to the studio again, and we not going to stop,” he said. Hopefully, we’ll get a release date for the project soon.

With the release of “Never Enough,” it seems as though JD and Curren$y are preparing to have the summer on lock, especially since they have four volumes in the works. Surprisingly, For Motivational Use Vol. 1 will serve as Spitta’s first project of 2023. Last year, he closed out his epic run with The Drive In Theatre Part 2, which boasted features from Fendi P, Rob49, Dash and more. Check out Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri’s new collab above.

Quotable Lyrics
Movin’ with the mind of a crime boss
Music like the white soft, from the boat, it’s fresh off
Chance to provide the evidence,
My n***a, you done bought the best of shit
Money well invested, the quarter then projections
Lookin’ like a straight blessin’
