Deion Sanders Claims Colorado Home Opener Made $18M For The City Of Boulder

There is no doubt that Deion Sanders has reshaped college football. Ever since he joined the Colorado Buffaloes in December 2022, it’s been the Prime Way or No Way. This has taken a 1-11 program in 2022 to the college football stratosphere. But can you put a numerical value on Sanders’ impact? Apparently, you can. In the most recent episode of the Colorado BTS vlog, Sanders and his coaching staff are seen discussing the impact that the football program is having. At one point, Sanders says that “they say the city made $18 million from us.” With the Broncos also hosting their home opener this past weekend, the city estimates a total revenue of $40 million.

That figure comes from the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, which estimates a $17 million revenue impact and projects similar figures for every sold-out home game. That might climb even higher this coming weekend. Not only is Colorado hosting their in-state rivals Colorado State, but ESPN will also be on the ground in Boulder. College Gameday is headed to Colorado for the first time since 1996, which is sure to bring out an even bigger influx of guests. It’s the first time the two rivals have faced off since 2019.

However, the financial impact is not the only thing that has been affected by the arrival of Sanders. Per Coach Prime himself, Colorado now has an “absurd” number of recruits interested in joining the program. “We’re receiving so many calls at this point right now it is absurd, just inquiring about what we do and how we do what we do and desiring to come on an unofficial or official visit,” Sanders said.

Furthermore, Colorado’s athletics account on Instagram has seen a 59% increase in followers since September 1st. Meanwhile, the school’s Facebook accounts have seen 29.3 million impressions in the same time span. As well as College GameDay, Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff will also be in Boulder for the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

Aaron Rodgers Breaks His Silence On Season-Ending Achilles Injury

Aaron Rodgers has spoken out for the first time since tearing his Achilles during Monday Night Football. Rodgers took to Instagram to reassure fans that he was far from done. “Thank you to every person that has reached out, called, texted, DM’d, connected through a friend, etc. It has meant a ton to me, and I’ll try and get back to all of you soon . Furthermore, Rodgers’ comments are confirmation that, unlike some were theorizing, the 39-year-old QB is not retiring. The Jets have named Zach Wilson, their starter for the past two seasons, QB1 going forward. The question is how long that will remain the case. The Jets will remain a playoff contender for the time being. However, Rodgers was the guy they saw as the missing piece. They have missed the playoffs both years that Wilson has been the starter. Furthermore, despite beating the Bills in Week 1, the road only gets harder from here. Additionally, while the Jets are looking to add a third QB to the roster, they are not expected to replace Wilson as QB1.

Wilson’s first start of 2023 will be against the Cowboys, who come off a 40-0 win over the Giants. While Robert Salah and company seem confident in Wilson, that could all change next week. Joe Burrow Debuts New Short Hairdo

The very ruffle-able hair of Joe Burrow is gone for the time being as the Bengals QB debuted a shorter version of his usual cut during media availability this week. “You’re looking at it, I don’t even know what to tell people,” Burrow said when asked what kids should ask for if they wanted to emulate the cut. “When you have a game like that on Sunday,” Burrow followed up when asked how he knows it’s time for a new cut.

The Bengals are widely expected to once again be AFC contenders this year. However, they fell face-first out of the gate as they got stomped 24-3 by the Browns. It came after Ja’Marr Chase had hilariously called the Browns a “bunch of elves”. However, it was a slap in the face for one of the hottest teams in football over the past two seasons. Obviously, for their quarterback, it signaled a need for a change. The Bengals will look to right the ship as they welcome the Ravens to Cincinnati on Sunday.

Burrow Signs Massive Extension

What made the result sting even more was that Burrow had signed his record-breaking extension a day before. His new deal is a five-year, $275 million extension with $219.01 million guaranteed. The deal surpasses those of Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, and Lamar Jackson, all signed this summer and all briefly the biggest in NFL history. “This is where I want to be. This is where I want to be my whole career. We’re working toward making that happen. You’ve seen what the front office has done and what Zac [Taylor] has done in their time here. I’m a small part of that [and] I’m excited to be a part of that. I’m going to keep playing well. I feel great about the organization and everybody in the locker room and in the coaching staff. [The contract] is the icing on the cake to me. I’m just excited to be out here,” Burrow told reporters.

“He’s a motivated player, he’s a motivated teammate, he’s a motivated leader,” Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin. “He puts the time in to make sure that he is ready to go and then he drives others to be ready to go. So all the things we liked about him from the very start have been true and he’s kept that up.” Burrow also entered the season with the second-best odds to win MVP. He threw for just 82 yards in the season opener.

Micah Parsons Puts The Giants On Blast After 40-0 Loss

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parson has put the New York Giants on blast after helping the Cowboys steamroll the Giants 40-0 this past weekend. “It’s called protecting your guy — something I thought the Giants should have done. I thought that was deceiving. That’s your franchise quarterback, and he’s out there with a backup offensive line still getting sacked and hit. I just didn’t understand. Giants’ Loss – Blip On The Radar Or Seasonal Foreshadowing?

The 40-0 loss was the worst season-opening loss in Giants history. However, was it just a blip on the radar? After all, a lot of teams struggled in week one. The Bills and Bengals lost despite being Super Bowl contenders. However, it’s likely that Brady was never more than a name that writers were using to pad their articles. The GOAT has made it very clear over the past few months that his second retirement was going to be permanent. Furthermore, Brady now partially owns the Raiders. It’s hard to see him being allowed to suit up for another team in the league.

NFLPA Calls For Ban On Artificial Surfaces In All Stadiums After Aaron Rodgers Injury

The NFLPA has urged the league to impose a ban on artificial turf at NFL stadiums. This comes after the season-ending injury suffered by Aaron Rodgers during Monday Night Football. Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon on just the fourth play of his Jets debut during a rain-soaked game at MetLife Stadium. MetLife installed a new field surface earlier this year. However, Rodgers’ injury is being blamed on the way that artificial surfaces react to wet conditions. The sentiment has been echoed by many players around the league.

“Moving all stadium fields to high quality natural grass surfaces is the easiest decision the NFL can make. The players overwhelmingly prefer it and the data is clear that grass is simply safer than artificial turf. It is an issue that has been near the top of the players’ list during my team visits and one I have raised with the NFL,” NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell said. The call for change comes after an NFLPA report released earlier this year showed that non-contact injuries occur at a higher rate on artificial surfaces.

As for the Jets themselves, the path forward is unclear now that Rodgers is done for the season. Zach Wilson was largely bailed out by sloppy play from the Bills and the Jets’ great defense. While Wilson remains the starter for now, it’s far from an ideal solution. However, the bigger problem for the Jets is that the QB market is all but dead right now. No one will trade a viable starter in week two. Furthermore, most of the people still available are free agents for a reason.

Despite this, it hasn’t stopped a wave of speculation from occurring. This is especially as the Jets will likely sign a third QB to the roster. Wilson’s former backup Joe Flacco is one widely spread name, as is journeyman Carson Wentz. Meanwhile, more outside-the-box theories such as Tom Brady and Colin Kaepernick have also been floated. However, it’s likely going to be a bad time for the next few weeks. Next on the schedule for the Jets are the Cowboys. Dallas comes off a 40-0 win against the Giants in week one.

Antonio Brown Seemingly Wants To Return To The Steelers

Antonio Brown is once again angling for an NFL return. Brown, once considered one of the best players in the league, has not suited up since being cut from the Buccaneers in 2021. However, in a recent post on X, Brown dropped a photo of himself during his time with the Steelers with the caption “Hear me out…”. In nine seasons with the Steelers, Brown had 11,207 receiving yards and 74 touchdowns. Furthermore, he made four first-team All-Pro appearances between 2014 and 2017. However, things ended badly between him and the team, leading to the infamous 2019 Raiders saga.

However, it’s unlikely that the Steelers, or any NFL franchise, is interested in Brown. Despite his talent, he hasn’t played in two years and is widely seen as an unneeded locker-room distraction. Who wants a guy you can’t count on staying out of trouble? Plus, Brown is 35 years old and would likely demand the money of a much younger player due to his visibility. Brown might want to stick to partying with frats and promoting whatever “Catch the Energy” is.

The Steelers dropped their opening game of the 2023 season in a 30-7 blowout against the 49ers. Despite the lack of scoring, second-year QB Kenny Pickett up 232 passing yards against one of the best defenses in the league. Those 232 yards were spread across nine targets, with offseason acquisition Allen Robinson II leading the way with 64 yards. However, a poor performance against a serious contender is not a great sample size.

While the Steelers aren’t stacked at wide receiver, especially with Diontae Johnson expected to miss a few weeks, Brown would still likely be a backup option given his age and time out of the league. With Johnson out temporarily, the team will likely turn to sophomore Calvin Austin or 2022 acquisition Miles Boykin to fill the vacant slot. Furthermore, Brown didn’t exactly leave Pittsburgh on the best of terms, with his reputation only getting worse since then. He shouldn’t expect a call from Omar Khan anytime soon.

Regardless, he is still trying to get on a team. Last year, he had a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders, although it was reportedly a disaster. Now, it seems like he wants to join the New York Jets. Last night, Aaron Rodgers injured his Achilles and he is now out for the year. The Jets are going to have to rely on Zach Wilson, and many believe this would be ill-advised. Consequently, Kap’s agent has decided to reach out to the Jets to see if his client can get a workout.

Instead, they would probably go with a Carson Wentz, who actually played in the league last year. Taking Kaepernick would be a huge risk, and he would most certainly be their backup. Should Wilson go down or play poorly, the Jets’ playoff hopes would ride on Kap’s shoulders. Considering how long he has been away from the game, very few people see this as a good idea.

Aaron Rodgers Injury Diagnosis Revealed

Aaron Rodgers got injured in his very first game as a member of the New York Jets. Overall, the injury took place on his fourth snap. He got tackled and during said tackle, he ended up going down with what appeared to be a calf or ankle problem. Of course, Jets fans were beside themselves when this happened. Who could have predicted this? Rodgers was supposed to lead this team to a Super Bowl. Instead, their hopes rest on the shoulders of Zach Wilson, who has been mediocre, to say the least.

Since the injury took place, the team has been adamant that they believed it was an Achilles injury. When someone goes down with an injury like that and X-Rays come back negative, chances are, it is, indeed, an Achilles issue. This morning, Rodgers had an MRI to get a diagnosis of what took place. In the end, the worst fears of the franchise and its fans were confirmed. Rodgers does, in fact, have an Achilles tear. This means he will have to miss the rest of the season.
