Flavor Flav Offers to Make Jordan Chiles a Bronze Clock in Wake of Olympic Medal Drama

Flava Flav Offers to Make Jordan Chiles a Bronze Clock in Wake of Olympic Medal Drama

As the 2024 Summer Olympics come to a close, one of the most disappointed athletes has to be Jordan Chiles, who, in a decision reversal, lost her bronze medal for women’s gymnastics following a scoring discrepancy. While Team USA continues to challenge the decision, women’s sports most unlikely champion, Flavor Flav, has offered to step in and at least offer Chiles a consolation piece of jewelry- a bronze clock he vowed to have made specially customized for her.

Taking to X, Flav posted the following with a short gif of him cheering on Team USA.

“Ayyy YOOOO @ChilesJordan ,,, imma make you a BRONZE CLOCK NECKLACE,,, and that’s something NO ONE else has,!!! Hit me up my girl,,, I gotchu,!!!”

Flava made a splash (almost literally) at the Paris Olympics after emerging as a major sponsor for Team USA women’s water polo after finding out that many of the players were working multiple jobs just to be able to afford to participate. Flav has been seen in the stands celebrating with players, families, other athletes, and even First Lady Jill Biden.

The Chiles controversy stems from an incident in which Chiles was allegedly scored fifth in her competition, but an appeal from her coach raised her score by .1 point, which cinched her the bronze, placing her above Romanians Bǎrbosu and Maneca-Voinea. However, the Romanian team filed an official appeal on behalf of the gymnasts surrounding the decision to revise Chiles’ score, claiming that the challenge by the Americans was made four seconds after the one-minute challenge deadline. The Olympic committee has asked Chiles to return her bronze medal, despite the fact that Chiles and the Romanian gymnasts have all agreed to calling it a three-way tie (in which they all would receive a bronze medal).

As of Monday, the committee’s decision remained in tact as they handle the appeal.

Flava Flav Emerges as USA Women’s Water Polo Sponsor, Joins Jill Biden at the Paris Olympics

Flava Flav and Jill Biden cheer on US Women's Water Polo Team in Paris

Flava Flav has always been a man of many talents and ventures whether it is music, reality television, or business. And while nobody probably had Flav sponsoring the USA Women’s water polo team on their 2024 bingo card, that is exactly the case as the artist has emerged as playing a vital role in the team’s success and journey to the Olympics.

The story began in May when women’s water polo team member Maggie Steffens posted how most of the women work one (or more) full-time jobs in addition to practicing and competing in the sport. She commented how the women’s water polo team, like many of the less popular sports, relies on sponsors to pay for things like equipment, travel, and pool time.

Flav commented on her post, vowing that “as a girl dad and supporter of all women’s sports,” he would “personally sponsor you my girl,,, whatever you need,” promising that his manager would be in touch with her agent and vowing to “use all my relationships and resources to help all y’all even more. That’s a FLAVOR FLAV promise.”

The former Public Enemy artist indeed came through on his promise, donating an undisclosed amount of money and more importantly, serving as the team’s unofficial hype man, attending matches wearing a Team USA branded water polo cap and (of course) a similarly branded waterproof clock necklace. Joining him to cheer on the team was First Lady Jill Biden, who thanked him for his support of women’s sports.

On X, Flav shared a video of him embracing Biden and team members along with the caption:

“I love all the support Women’s Water Polo is getting,,, ya boy is so appreciative that the First Lady came to the First Game . THANK YOU @flotus Dr. Jill Biden for all the support of you and your family.”

In a statement to the Associated Press, Flav stated that “When I come out and I watch this water polo team … ‘USA! USA!’ Yo, I’m going to be the biggest hype man that they ever had in their life,” he told the AP on Friday. “I’m going to be bigger than any cheerleader that they had in their life. I’m going to cheer this team on, and I’m going to cheer this team into winning a gold medal.”

Fans Mistake Kodak Black For Flava Flav After Bonding Out Of Broward County Jail

Kodak Black survivors of breast cancer

Kodak Black was arrested on Friday, July 15, and charged with trafficking oxycodone of fewer than 25 grams and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription after being found with $50,000 in cash and oxycodone pills in his car during a traffic stop. The next day, the Broward county rapper posted a $75,000 bail and was released from jail just hours before a concert in Atlanta.

At the end of the video above you can hear people shouting at Kodak while he’s walking to the car, but mistaking the “Super Gremlin” rapper for Public Enemy hypeman Flava Flav.

“Ayeeee Flavor Flav, wassup?!” they yelled at Kodak “Boyeeeee” another person yelled at him.

Kodak’s lawyer Bradford Cohen even took to Twitter to defend his client after the release, telling his followers never to judge a case based on the arrest and that there are more facts surrounding the case.

“Never Judge a case based on an arrest,” Cohen said. “There are always additional facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case. We will get him a bond today and move forward with resolving the matter quickly. #kodak#kodakblack
