Teyana Taylor is winning these days and now, the R&B songstress turned actor just secured her next major film role in RIP for Netflix, according to a report from Deadline
RIP, will have Taylor starring alongside Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in what has been announced as a crime thriller. Taylor, known for her standout performance in A Thousand and One, will join a cast that also includes The Flash star Sasha Calle, alongside the previously announced Damon and Affleck. Like we said, winning.
Much of the project is under wraps but reportedly RIP is “set around a group of Miami police officers whose circle of trust begins to weaken after they find millions of dollars in an abandoned home.”
“As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question–including who they can rely on,” according to Deadline.
Behind the camera, RIP, is produced by Damon and Affleck’s Artists Equity and will be directed and written by Joe Carnahan, with Affleck and Damon serving as producers through their Artists Equity banner. They will be joined by Dani Bernfeld and Luciana Damon as producers, while Michael Joe and Kevin Halloran will act as executive producers. No release date has been announced yet.
Get this, in addition to RIP, Taylor has several other high-profile projects on the horizon. She will star in Tyler Perry’s Straw alongside Taraji P. Henson, Glynn Turman, and Sherri Shepherd, as well as in Ryan Murphy’s legal drama All’s Fair, featuring Niecy Nash Betts.
Anything for likes? Anything for clout? We’re not too sure with this one. Looks like Lil Pump had a bit of a breathing issue after MMA star Colby Covington put him in a nasty chokehold that led the rapper to pass out and it all went down on livestream, of course.
Make no mistake, do not try this at home under any circumstances. We’re serious.
The stunt or whatever happened via Kick stream shared by the rapper, where Covington, 36, was seen wrestling with the 24-year-old musician. Covington has not competed in the UFC since his loss to Leon Edwards in December last year.
The clip went viral. It has garnered over 20.9 million views, Covington wrapped his arm around Lil Pump’s neck as they wrestled on the floor. The rapper, best known for his SoundCloud hits, visibly struggled, tapping the mat in an attempt to signal for Covington to stop.
As Covington tightened his grip and wrapped his leg around Pump’s hip, the rapper’s eyes rolled back, and his body went limp. A man nearby was heard saying, “He’s out, he’s out,” prompting Covington to release his hold and jump to his feet, pointing at Pump. “He’s out, look at his eyes, holy,” said another onlooker, while an aide rushed to help Lil Pump regain consciousness, lifting his legs and encouraging him to breathe.
Many fans were not amused. The disturbing footage has sparked outrage among fans, many of whom expressed their concern and anger on social media. One fan took to X (formerly Twitter), writing, “This is absolute loser behavior from Colby.” Another commented, “He tapped multiple times. Colby should be demoted on his jiu-jitsu belt and should never be allowed to fight again.” A third sarcastically remarked, “Loved seeing Colby respect the tap. That was cool.”
Others echoed similar sentiments, with one stating, “He tapped out like seven times, even looked at the people around for help.” Another fan bluntly criticized the situation, writing, “Unless he asked to be out, that was pretty f*g stupid tbh.” A particularly harsh comment read, “Colby Covington has—once again—shown himself to be a complete scumbag. Lil Pump (who doesn’t train) tapped multiple times—he is merely looking to create content with Colby and is presumably a guest at his gym. Colby responds by ignoring the tap and risking injury.”
While it remains unclear whether Lil Pump had requested Covington to continue despite the taps, the video began with both already on the mat. Covington, known for his controversial persona and support for former President Donald Trump, holds a 17-4 MMA record and is currently ranked fifth in the UFC’s 170lb division.
Outside the Octagon, Pump has used his social media platforms to endorse Trump’s campaign ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential election, where Trump faces current Vice President Kamala Harris. And make no mistake, his comments about VP Harris have been absolutely abysmal. And we’re not holding our breath on a change of tune, pun intended.
Some people stay ready, others stay strapped. Seems like that goes for our leaders in the highest office in the land. Dispelling any false narratives about being pro second amendment, Vice President Kamala Harris set the record straight during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. The moment came at a star-studded livestream town hall event. VP Harris made a lighthearted comment about gun ownership, saying, “If somebody breaks into my house, they’re getting shot.” Harris then laughed, adding, “Probably should not have said that. My staff will deal with that later.” This exchange occurred in the context of a broader discussion on gun control.
Winfrey, was surprised to learn during the previous week’s presidential debate that Harris is a gun owner. Makes sense right? She was a prosecutor, D.A. and US Senator. Most public servants in those high sensitive positions carry the hammer on them, ha!
Get this, in response, and quite artfully, Harris reiterated her stance on the Second Amendment, stating, “I’m not trying to take everyone’s guns away. I believe in the Second Amendment,” and emphasized that the gun control measures she supports, such as strengthening background checks and reinstating the federal assault weapons ban, are “just common sense.”
What’s more is Harris also shared an impactful moment from her past town hall discussions, where she asked students to raise their hands if they had participated in active shooter drills from kindergarten through 12th grade. “Almost every hand went up. It was bone chilling,” she remarked, highlighting the concerning reality many young people face today.
Like we said, some stay ready while others stay strapped.
Lil Pump isn’t feeling Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris. Pump fell for a fake post that criticized him and wrote in response, “Taylor Swift… go f*** yourself.”
He then doubled down, “Lets just b clear wen I said @taylorswift13 should go f*** herself i acknowledge maybe @tkelce isn’t doing it and will send her a vibrator of her choice if she gets some sense. Trump 2024!”
Taylor Swift, you have no clue why ur even voting for Kamala. Maybe cuz ur a billionaire and voting for her has 0 impact on ur life.
You said do ur research, clearly you didn’t do ur research.
Over the weekend, Trump hopped on Truth Social and revealed his feelings about one of the most famous people on the planet: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Donald Trump, a 78-year-old man, who is candidate for President of the United States, screams in all caps, “I hate Taylor Swift!”. There is nothing normal about this. pic.twitter.com/ByJvQK5SCD
Less than 24 hours after Taylor Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, signing off as a childless cat lady, Elon Musk oddly offered to give her a baby.
“Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” Musk wrote on X.
Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life
Swift’s post was shared with her massive following of over 283 million, and get this, it featured Swift holding her cat, Benjamin Button. Now if you behind on the times, it was clearly a nod to previous remarks made by Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, who referred to Harris as a “childless cat lady” during his campaign.
That was a genius move btw. Tapping JD Vance as Trump’s running mate. That’s really working out well for them.
What’s more, Swift took the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to urge her audience to “do your research” on the candidates and the election, emphasizing the importance of informed voting. She also addressed the circulation of AI-generated images falsely portraying her as a Trump supporter. Swift remarked that seeing those misleading images prompted her to clarify her position, saying, “I need to be very transparent about my actual plans.”
In no time, the surging Harris campaign quickly responded to Swift’s endorsement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). They celebrated by highlighting friendship bracelets that symbolized the close connection between Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Why this matter, the bracelets served as a nod to Swift’s own diehard fan culture and influence during the election season.
Well it’s influential all right and now Swift is behind VP Harris. Yikes … in a good way.
Anyway’s here’s the full text from post from @TaylorSwift Instagram, which has garnered over 7m likes so far …
“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.
Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.
I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.
I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.
Somebody tell Donald Trump to “Shake It Off.” Over the weekend, Trump hopped on Truth Social and revealed his feelings about one of the most famous people on the planet: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

First it was Beyoncé, now VP Kamala Harris has the support of Taylor Swift.
You heard that right. Taylor Swift has entered the chat.
Arguably the biggest artist on the planet just officially endorsed VP Kamala Harris after the debate, via an Instagram post.
The post was shared with her massive following of over 283 million, and get this, it featured Swift holding her cat, Benjamin Button. Chris Tucker is cursing again in his stand up. Ya’ll knew that? Ha, the “Rush Hour” star had people in stitches during a recent standup routine. He had a lot of fun over the confusion many had between him and the other Chris, Rock that is, following the wildly infamous Will Smith slap seen around the world at the 2022 Oscars.
Okay, so Tucker began by laughing off his frustration over the mix-up. He said: “Let me tell you why I’m pissed off about that slap with Will Smith and Chris Rock. They mixed me up in it. You know? Because we’re Chris’, they thought I got slapped. People were calling my mom’s phone every night asking, ‘Is Chris okay? I heard he got the sh”t slapped out of him.’ ‘Chris is right here rewinding the tape so I can see the slap. Now stop starting rumors.’”
Get this, then the “Jackie Brown” star joked about how huge the incident was and discussed around the world. He mocked languages spoken in Tokyo, Puerto Rico, and Africa. Listen, it was all in fun and he was equally disrespectful.
Tucker even speculated that Rock must have known what was coming. We’re laughing just saying that … “Black people have a sixth sense. If somebody walks up on us unannounced, the first thing we do — we be like ‘hey, what’s up, what you want?’” He added, “Y’all should’ve known that wasn’t me because that show would’ve been over right then and there. Will Smith would not have been walking off stage fixing his jacket on my a””.”
Tucker had way more fun by playfully demonstrating how he would have responded if he were in Rock’s place. He suggesting the encounter with Smith would have ended very differently. If you imagine the insinuation.
Glad to see Chris Tucker still touring and having fun with the audience even if it’s at the expense of the other Chris.
If you have not seen “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” then it’s a lot easier now that the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence blockbuster is available on VOD, even as it continues to excel both in theaters and at home platforms.
The critically acclaimed action-comedy sequel has seen impressive performance in its home video release, dominating the iTunes and Fandango charts since its VOD debut on July 23. Just saying, duh.
