Ice Spice currently is featured on one of the hottest songs in the country with PinkPantheress’ “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2.” During her interview with Dazed, Ice Spice reflected on collaborating with the English singer. “I’m so excited to be collaborating with her, because I’m really a huge fan, ever since I first heard of her I’ve been a fan,” Spice told the outlet. “So for her to ask me to hop on ‘Boy’s a Liar,’ I’m really excited. And the video is fire too. It’s unexpected, but we still have a correlation to each other somehow. Even before the record, fans really wanted it. There was already requests for that.”

Ice Spice also confirmed that she’s got more singles on the way prior to the release of her debut album. “I’m excited to hit these festival stages and put out more singles leading up to my album,” she said. “I’m excited to do more collaborations with different artists from different genres.” As for which artists specifically, she name-dropped Tokisha, The 1975, and Rosalia as some of the musicians she’s been listening to recently. Although she’s yet to release an official studio album, Spice dropped off Like..? earlier this year. The six-track EP features her songs “Bikini Bottom,” and “Gangsta Boo,” as well as her breakout single “Munch (Feelin’ U).”

Ice Spice Covers “Dazed,” Reveals Her Favourite New York Drill Artists

Ice Spice’s career is only just beginning, but already it feels as though the New York native is one of the most coveted artists in the industry. She showed out during Rolling Loud California earlier this month, attracting one of the festival’s biggest crowds for her short, sweet, and spicy set. Elsewhere in the news, she’s also caught Nicki Minaj’s eye, earning both a follow and a co-sign from the Queen of Rap herself this past weekend.

Following that comes another impressive feat for the 23-year-old – a Dazed magazine cover. Spice unveiled the big news on Monday (March 13) via Instagram, showing off her salacious photos that see her famous figure on full display from various angles. The issue is titled “The People’s Princess,” and in her accompanying interview, the lyricist reminded us exactly why she’s as legendary as the late Princess Diana.

In Her Hood, She’s Like Princess Diana

During her chat with the outlet, Spice chiefly spoke about her experience coming up out of the Bronx, where drill music was born. Speaking on some of her favourite artists from the area, she shared, “I love Pop Smoke. He’s goated. I was definitely bumping him every day. That was even before I started making music seriously, in the studio. I was already rapping on some fun shit. But before I started recording, I was bumping him a lot. Sheff G too, of course. Sleepy Hallow. Bizzy Banks. It was a lot of people in the drill scene.”

“When I started hearing about DThang and Kay Flock, and the Bronx started getting more attention and started having more artists come out, I was already recording by then,” the “Bikini Bottom” hitmaker recalled. “By the time the Bronx started popping up, I was already in the booth, plotting. But hearing them was definitely more of a motivation too. Just knowing that now we have a spotlight in the Bronx. I feel like when there’s an artist buzzing out the Bronx, that gives other people a chance to shine too.”

She already has all eyes on her, but that doesn’t mean Ice Spice plans to slow down anytime soon. While speaking with Dazed she shared that her upcoming plans involve performing at festivals and finalizing her debut album, following January’s Like..? EP. “I’m excited to do more collaborations with different artists from different genres,” she added, also noting her eagerness to “see the world and travel more.” Read the Bronx Baddie’s full interview here, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.
