Surviving Diddy: More Reactions To The Music Mogul’s Alleged Abuse

Diddy

Diddy is facing intense scrutiny as numerous people in the music industry speak out about his alleged abusive behavior. A flood of former artists and associates have come forward after singer/model Cassie filed a lawsuit on Nov. 16 accusing the music mogul of sexual and physical assault during their 10-year relationship.

Danity Kane Members Speak Out

Diddy is facing backlash as several individuals in the music industry have spoken out against his alleged abusive behavior, particularly in the wake of the groundbreaking lawsuit filed by Cassie.

Aubrey O’Day, a member of the Bad Boy group, Danity Kane, shared on her Instagram story on Nov. 16  that she refused to sign an NDA in exchange for her music publishing. She has shared on social media and in interviews of her own abuse by Diddy. O’Day also posted screenshots of phone calls with Willie Taylor of the Bad Boy R&B group Day 26, further suggesting a toxic work environment created by the music mogul.

Dawn Richards, another members of Danity Kane, also took to Twitter (X) to offer prayers for Cassie and her family, expressing her support and admiration for the R&B singer’s bravery.

”Praying for Cassie and her family, for peace and healing. you are beautiful and brave, “Richards commented.

Both Danity Kane and Day 26, who were on the show Making The Band hosted by Diddy, have accused him of owing them money and fostering a detrimental atmosphere.

Even DK member D.Woods, who has not posted on social media since June 2022, returned to her Twitter (X)  account to send kind words to Cassie, expressing her admiration for Cassie’s strength and offering her full support:

“Cassie @cassie You are incredibly brave to shine light on what you endured in the dark. I’m sorry you had to go through it alone. I’m praying for your continued strength and I offer my full support to you,” Woods commented.

Supermodel and entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons took to her Instagram story on Nov. 17 and posted, “As you sow, so shall you reap,” referring to karma for one’s actions and seemingly alluding to the repercussions Diddy might face.

Additionally, Cassie’s personal assistant, Dexter James, posted multiple phrases  on his Instagram story by saying phrases such as “It’s All True!,” and “Surviving Diddy.” James also shared a picture of him and Cassie, calling the allegations true and expressing his support for her.

“ITS ALL TRUE! I was Cassie’s personal assistant and seen a lot during my days beside her! She’s a very strong woman and deserves every penny! The things she endured you could never imagine!”

On November 16, 50 Cent posted a confused look selfie on his X account to poke fun at Diddy for his latest allegations:

“Damn bother love, brother love, brother love, you out here looking CRAZY AS A MF LMAO,” 50 Cent wrote.

The rapper/television mogul has also shared that he used to be uncomfortable when he was invited to Diddy’s parties.

One user on Twitter (X) named BIGMEL____ commented on the matter with artists that can get justice for their loss of fiances to the being signed to Diddy. “If diddy gets locked up this will be justice for Biggie, Pac, Black Rob, 112, Carl Thomas, faith evens, Day 26, Craig Mack, the lox, loon, g dep, total, dirty money, shyne, Jennifer Lopez, Cassie and the whole badboy family but lastly Kim Porter and Ms Wallace (Biggie’s Mother),” he commented.

Notably, a clip resurfaced of singer Jaguar Wright in a December 2022 interview, sharing conspiracy theories regarding Diddy’s involvement in the death of his former girlfriend, Kim Porter. Wright, known as a “whistleblower” in the music industry, has remained out of the spotlight for nearly two decades but continues to raise questions about Diddy’s actions.

Diddy Under Fire

Aubrey O’Day Net Worth 2023: What Is The Danity Kane Singer Worth?

Aubrey O’Day stepped into the limelight courtesy of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ reality TV spectacle, Making the Band 3. But her roots dig deep into the performing arts. Her childhood interest in the theater and her undergraduate years in musical theatre at the University of California, Irvine nurtured them. Her transformation from an aspiring performer to a pop sensation is one for the textbooks. When Danity Kane splashed onto the music scene, O’Day was already a seasoned performer. She’s a master of many disciplines within the entertainment world—actress, songwriter, and reality TV star—and it’s this multiplicity that has fattened her bank account to a reported $5 million in 2023, according to CAknowledge.

Additionally, O’Day’s inclusion in Danity Kane was pivotal, propelling her into stardom with the group’s eponymous debut album in 2006. Hit singles like “Show Stopper” and “Damaged” climbed the charts, cementing the band—and O’Day’s—status. She carried this momentum into her solo endeavors, releasing EPs that flaunted her vocal talents and sass. Not content to be confined to a recording studio, she capitalized on her growing celebrity by participating in reality TV shows like Celebrity Apprentice and Ex on the Beach. This added layers to her public persona and fortified her financial standing, making her a household name beyond just music circles.

Her career has been a whirlwind of musical notes and TV appearances. Her personal life has been equally splendid in its own tabloid-worthy way. Whether it’s her high-profile relationships or public spats with fellow celebrities, O’Day has never avoided controversy. It’s almost as if the headlines work in her favor. They amplify her brand and make her a constant topic of conversation. This real-world soap opera, willingly or not, becomes an additional layer of her marketability, lending her a complex, relatable human narrative.

Aubrey O’Day is no stranger to brand diversification. From launching her own line of fragrances to dabbling in fashion, her business ventures have been calculated, strategic, and, most importantly, fruitful. Her financial savvy, perhaps nurtured by her stints on business-centric reality shows, gives her a leg up in maintaining multiple income streams. She’s not merely lending her name to products. She’s intimately involved in the conceptualization and marketing, making these ventures successful appendices to her entertainment career.

In dissecting the melodrama and the music, the Aubrey O’Day story paints the picture of a woman determined to leave an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. Her multi-faceted career, far from being a medley of disjointed acts, forms a cohesive, compelling narrative. While far from over, it’s a narrative that has already penned some impressive financial chapters. And that is no small feat in an industry known for its harsh volatility.

Dawn Richard Claims Diddy Didn’t Think Danity Kane Could Outsell Cassie

They were a girl group that stormed the industry after being constructed by Sean “Diddy” Combs, but Dawn Richard is giving insight into the trials of Danity Kane. Richard was a singer in the quintet that took over the charts after coming together on Making the Band. The reality series followed hopefuls looking for their big break. Diddy and his team not only chose each singer but they documented the process of whipping them into shape. All these years later, many of the ladies have spoken out against their time on the show.

Dawn Richard has continued her career as a solo artist and creative. She’s continued to release music, and in a new interview, she revealed the Bad Boy “didn’t believe” in Danity Kane. “We were a show,” Richard told FashionXRadio. “Puff saw money. He saw ratings. MTV, that was where the money was. Danity Kane was just a concept of something bigger. He had no clue we were gonna be that big.”

“I’ll tell you: when we first came out, they said only do 100,000 copies ’cause they not gon’ do more than Cassie. That’s what they told us when the first album came out. We sold 100,000 in a day, and they had to figure out how to get more units in by the time the week [ended]. They barely got it, and we ended up selling 230,000 copies.”

The host chimed in to say that the label was lacking and didn’t have enough product. “They didn’t think we would sell,” Richard added. “When were touring, they wouldn’t give us any money. So, we were sewing our costumes from Forever 21.” This isn’t the first grievance a Danity Kane artist has brought up against Diddy. Aubrey O’Day has been vocal about Combs, often lashing out about his methods on social media.
