Jack Harlow’s ‘First Class’ Flips Fergie’s ‘Glamorous’ Into A Enticing Invitation To The Mile-High Club

In just a matter of weeks, Jack Harlow will release his sophomore album Come Home The Kids Miss You. The project is set to be the follow-up to 2020’s That’s What They Say which featured popular records like “What’s Poppin” and “Tyler Herro.” So far, Harlow has released one single from Come Home The Kids Miss You, that being “Nail Tech.” The track is a classy and flashy record that was very much on-brand for Harlow and he keeps that theme alive on his latest single.

With less than a month until Come Home The Kids Miss You, Harlow returns with “First Class.” The track gained traction on social media thanks to its wonderful sample of Fergie’s 2006 song “Glamorous,” which fans got a tease of thanks to a preview from the rapper. Harlow uses the classic record to create an enticing invitation to the mile-high club for a special lady in his life all while teasing the perks of flying above the clouds.

In addition to sharing the release date for Come Home The Kids Miss You, Harlow also unveiled the cover art for the project. It depicts him in front of a white backdrop as he sits on a stool with a mic stand beside him.

You can listen to “First Class” in the video above.

Jack Harlow set a date for May 6 as he revealed the cover art for his sophomore album Come Home the Kids Miss You. In front of a white backdrop, the simple cover art shows a humbled Harlow sitting on a black stool, wearing all black, with a microphone stand on his side.

Jack Harlow has really been putting in the leg work on his forthcoming album  Come Home the Kids Miss You. When I say leg work, I mean that literately. The Louisville native is fresh off his Grammy performance, he’s been doing choreography lately, and somehow amid the hype, his song, “First Class,” which officially comes out on Friday, is already viral on TikTok.

Harlow sampled Fergie’s 2006 hit “Glamorous,” and people loved it. The way it quickly circulated indicates that.

“First Class” is the second single Harlow dropped that will be on the album. He previously dropped “Nail Tech.”

From its looks, Jack Harlow is locked in and ready to go. Since entering the game, the “What’s Poppin” rapper from Kentucky has been very popular. His prowess as a lyricist has already put him in an elite class of rappers in this new age of Hip-Hop.

Jack Harlow Reveals The Release Date For ‘Come Home The Kids Miss You’

Last month, Jack Harlow revealed the title of his upcoming album, Come Home The Kids Miss You. Today, the Louisville, Kentucky rapper revealed the album’s release date and stripped-down cover art. Featuring a photo of Jack sitting on a stool next to a mic stand, Come Home The Kids Miss You is set for release on May 6. Incidentally, as some fans noticed on Twitter, that’s the same weekend as the biggest sporting event in the rapper’s home state, the Kentucky Derby.

To promote his second studio album, Harlow will be dropping the project’s second single, “First Class,” this Friday. He previously teased the track with a video from the studio that previewed an upbeat instrumental with a loop of Fergie’s “Glamorous.” Before that, he released the first single, “Nail Tech,” as he shot the lights out during the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in Cleveland, Ohio.

His performance in that game presaged his next big opportunity; in March, it was announced that he’d been cast in an upcoming remake of White Men Can’t Jump. Most recently, he joined Lil Nas X to perform their hit song “Industry Baby” at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards this past Sunday.

Jack Harlow Says ‘First Class’ Is Coming Out This Friday

Music industry phenomenon Jack Harlow got his dancing shoes on last night with Lil Nas X when the pair performed their hit “Industry Baby” at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards show. Harlow’s moves pleased the folks who were bummed that the rapper didn’t get down in the song’s original music video. But to Harlow’s credit, he had something to be especially excited about on deck. Earlier today, he announced that “First Class,” the next single from his upcoming album due out in May, Come Home The Kids Miss You, will be dropping this Friday.

“First Class” will follow February’s release of the lead single “Nail Tech,” a sleek track with high-brow production from a super-team that includes Boi-1da and Rogét Chahayed. In the short clip of “First Class” that Harlow shared, he raps, “I got plaques in the mail, peak season. Shout out to my UPS workers makin’ sure I receive ’em,” before an inviting beat drops. We’ll surely be hearing plenty of the song from Friday onwards.

Meanwhile, Harlow — a Louisville native — will soon be living every Kentuckyian’s dream (maybe?) and is getting his own menu at KFC. He’s also set to make his acting debut in a reboot of White Men Can’t Jump.

Jack Harlow’s New Album Is Dropping In May And ‘Nail Tech’ Is His ‘Least Favorite Song’ On It

Of all the surprise superstars and breakout artists to emerge during the COVID-19 pandemic, perhaps the most unexpected was Jack Harlow. The Kentucky-raised rapper had some buzz before landing his No. 2 single “What’s Poppin” in 2020, but the outsized reaction to that track had many assuming he would just be another hip-hop one-hit-wonder — an expectation that he shattered with his debut album, That’s What They All Say, in 2021. Now, hordes of newly converted fans can’t help wondering when his follow-up is coming, especially after the release of his Drake-esque new single “Nail Tech.”

Harlow answers that question in a new profile in Rolling Stone, revealing that “Nail Tech” isn’t just the beginning but it’s also “probably my least favorite song on the album.” Intriguingly, it appears that Jack revealed the album’s title on Instagram months ago, although no one could have known that at the time. It’s called Come Home The Kids Miss You and it’s projected for a May 6 release date. He says that he prefers his more heartfelt, introspective tracks like “Rendezvous,” promising more on the album.

“My new s*t is much more serious,” he says. “Right now, my message is letting muh’f*ckers know I love hip-hop, and I’m one of the best in my generation. You can’t do that with nonchalant, like, ‘Eeey, I got the bitches,’ in clever ways over and over again. I got to dig deeper this time.”
