Tyga Sells One Of His California Homes For $5.1 Million

Tyga has officially made himself $1 million richer through real estate. After buying a property near Coachella in 2019 to use as a vacation home, he’s sold the place and made quite an impressive profit off of it. He originally purchased the home for $3.9 million and sold it for $5.1 million. According to Hip Hop DX, the property was originally listed for $5.9 million, but it’s hard to imagine him complaining about the final price tag. The 6000 square foot mansion features four bedrooms and its own private beach, living up to its lofty price tag.

The sale comes as Tyga is facing increasing legal pressure to pay child support to his ex Blac Chyna. That’s been coming from both the court system and the public in recent weeks. In late August Chyna filed for joint custody and child support from the rapper through the court system. Since then various public figures, including Tokyo Toni, have called him out publicly for trying to avoid paying child support. While him selling his mansion may not be directly influenced by the legal battle, there are certainly dots for fans to connect.

Tyga Sells Lavish California Mansion

Tyga has kept up releasing music pretty prolifically all year. In late August he teamed up with incredibly frequent collaborator YG yet again for the good times anthem “PARTy T1M3.” It’s the pair’s 4th new song together released this year following “West Coast Weekend,” “PLATINUM,” and their collaboration with Saweetie “BIRTHDAY.”

They’ll have plenty of opportunities to play those songs together as well. Tyga, YG, and Saweetie are all taking off on tour later this month. Their “STR8 TO THE KLUB” tour takes off later this month and will play 14 stops over the next few months. The bill also features even more impressive artists Kamaiyah, Wallie The Sensei, and DJ Vision joining them. What do you think of Tyga’s decision to sell one of his mansions amid his ongoing child support battle with Blac Chyna? Let us know in the comment section below.

How Many People Go To Coachella Each Year?

Coachella’s reputation precedes itself. Even so, the annual festival always finds new ways to one-up the previous year. This April, Coachella 2023 featured unprecedented headliners like Bad Bunny and Blackpink. While we wait for the 2024 lineup, information has been released about location and ticketing.

We can count on Coachella returning to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, but the number of people flooding the grounds across two weekends is anyone’s guess. According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, Coachella 2023 was “the first edition of the six-day, two-weekend festival at Indio’s Empire Polo Club since 2010 to not sell out in advance.”

The same report relayed the following:

“Coachella, which grossed $117 million in 2017, averages 125,000 daily attendees. About 20 percent of them each year are from San Diego County.

Coachella’s opening 2019 weekend sold out in 40 minutes, while the second 2019 weekend sold out slightly over five hours later. It is not uncommon for most tickets to be purchased the previous year, before even a single performer has been announced.

Intriguingly, the 2019 sell-out actually represented a slowdown compared to the event’s 2017 and 2018 editions. They each sold out in just three hours.”

Brittanica also noted, “In 2010 organizers angered some attendees by eliminating single-day tickets in favor of full three-day festival passes. Attendance was not hurt, however, and Coachella set a record by attracting about 75,000 people each day. By the early 2020s, average daily attendance was about 125,000.”

This year was the first that Coachella performances across six stages were livestreamed. But whoever chooses to attend the 2024 edition will be in for a treat, according to what Uproxx‘s Philip Cosores observed at this year’s edition.

“While YouTube can give you the feel of a performance and show you what’s happening, that shared emotion of being in the same space stays on the polo fields,” wrote Cosores. “Year after year, while people knock Coachella for changing — I prefer evolving and growing — it only takes one trip out there to realize that it’s still expertly curated, featuring some of the most exciting rising and established acts in music, and full of moments of pure joy.”

Where Is Coachella 2024’s Location?

It’s never too early to look forward to Coachella, especially after 2023 headliners Bad Bunny and Blackpink staged such unprecedented sets. Uproxx‘s Philip Cosores credited the scene of the annual festival as much as the impressive performances for its ringing success.

“While YouTube can give you the feel of a performance and show you what’s happening, that shared emotion of being in the same space stays on the polo fields,” he wrote. “Year after year, while people knock Coachella for changing — I prefer evolving and growing — it only takes one trip out there to realize that it’s still expertly curated, featuring some of the most exciting rising and established acts in music, and full of moments of pure joy.”

In June, Coachella announced its 2024 dates as April 12-14 and April 19-21. It’s safe to assume that, yet again, it will all go down at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Simultaneously, registration to access the 2024 Advance Sale was opened, and hotel packages or Safari Campground reservations were available to purchase on the spot.

If you visit Coachella’s official website now, there is the option to join waitlists for Weekend 1 or Weekend 2. There is also still booking information for festival passes, hotel packages, Safari Campground reservation, shuttle service, and payment plans.

Who Owns Coachella?

Though Coachella quite literally just happened, it’s time to start thinking about next year’s, which hopefully won’t have as much drama. In 2024, it’ll take place from April 12 to 14 and April 19 to 21. Tickets have already been on sale as of last month.

The owner of Coachella has sparked some controversy in the past. His name is Philip Anschutz, who owns the festival through AEG. The billionaire has been considered a polarizing figure because he and his foundation have donated money to organizations that are both anti-LGBT and support climate change denial. However, in 2017, he shared a statement to address the situation.

“Recent claims published in the media that I am anti-LGBTQ are nothing more than fake news — it is all garbage,” he wrote. “I unequivocally support the rights of all people without regard to sexual orientation. We are fortunate to employ a wealth of diverse individuals throughout our family of companies, all of whom are important to us — the only criteria on which they are judged is the quality of their job performance; we do not tolerate discrimination in any form.”

He continued, “Both The Anschutz Foundation and I contribute to numerous organizations that pursue a wide range of causes. Neither I nor the Foundation fund any organization with the purpose or expectation that it would finance anti-LGBTQ initiatives, and when it has come to my attention or the attention of The Anschutz Foundation that certain organizations either the Foundation or I have funded have been supporting such causes, we have immediately ceased all contributions to such groups.”

When Is The Coachella Lineup Announced For 2024?

This year’s Coachella was quite the event. Though Frank Ocean’s highly anticipated performance was a bewildering experience and he later dropped off the festival, there were plenty of triumphant moments. Blackpink killed it, Gorillaz brought out Bad Bunny and Beck, Saweetie joined Latto onstage, and Skrillex’s set was one big massive party with Fred Again.., and Four Tet.

So it’s only natural that the countdown until the next Coachella begins. It wasn’t until January 10 that this year’s lineup was revealed, and it then took place during the weekends of April 14 to 16 and 21 to 23.

To be fair, The Indio, California-based festival has already started teasing next year’s jamboree. “Wherever you are, the desert isn’t far,” they tweeted earlier this month. “Coachella returns April 12-14 and April 19-21.” A playful accompanying graphic in the post announced that registration is open for access to the 2024 Advance Sale, which began on June 16.

An array of hotel package options are shown on the festival’s website: La Quinta Hotel Packages, Indio Hotel Packages, Indian Wells Hotel Packages, Palm Desert Hotel Packages, and Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage Hotel Packages. Prices range from $3,099 (plus fees) to $10,999 (plus fees). Shuttle services and safari camping are also currently available to book on the website.
